I aim to teach students to understand concepts rather than learn by rote. - Qualified teacher and examiner. - Many students go onto medicine, vetmed and dentistry. - Prepare students for 13+, 11+ and scholarships: Westminster, Habs, QE Boys, Latymer, St Albans, Oundle, Bedford Modern and Kimbolton: for students outside the UK and UK based.During lesson we look at exam questions and examiners reports to highlight the skills and knowledge needed to attain the top grades. I use exam papers to identify areas of weakness so we can then work on specific skills or topics. We can then revise topics and make revision materials.Having dyslexia myself means I can help dyslexic students learn techniques to help them with both revision and accessing information on the exam papers.
I take pride in bringing out the best in my Students and getting results. My experience covers Tutoring and Secondary School Maths Teaching (KS3 & 4) with additional skills as a GCSE exam marker and A Lvl tutor. As a student I experienced Maths anxiety and brain fog and whilst at University I discovered the joy in problem solving and logic of Maths and subsquently became a Maths Teacher. I often use the GCHQ puzzle and brain teaser questions to challenge and help my students enjoy finding patterns.

Every child deserves an opportunity to reach their maximum potential. In addition to focusing on a child`s academic progress, I always look for opportunities to boost their confidence and self-esteem - as these are crucial for a holistic development. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need. It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs or 11+ exams.
I tailor my lessons to cater for each child's individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs, as well as children that have English as an additional language. All my students have made excelled progress in their studies, therefore most of my students come from personal recommendations of happy parents :)

Hi, my name is Kully and it's very nice to meet you. Thank you for taking this time out to read my profile!
For the last 10 years, I have been working as a primary school teacher at an outstanding school.
I have over 15 years experience and have worked within many schools, two of which were long-term.
Over the years, my teaching career has allowed me to experience many different and difficult situations. These in turn have made me a more confident, organised, resourceful and experienced (in many years groups) teacher.
My current role is as a cover teacher - where I teach children from Nursery up to Year 6.
I am currently taking part in the Government led school tutoring program, where at present I tutor 3 children from Year 2 in Writing. This has deepened my experience further, especially when assisting children to achieve the best they can.
I have carried out and planned for many 1:1 or group interventions in Maths and English to assist with our school's Covid catch-up program.
I want to build a good rapport with my tutees, a relationship that is fun, respectful and honest.
It's all about adapting the learning to the tutee and making them feel that they are in control of their learning too. Having a good sense of humour always helps too!
Please leave a message if you would like to discuss your child's needs.
Looking forward to meeting you.
