I have 8 years of teaching and tutoring experience in a variety of environments. I have always enjoyed teaching, tailoring my tuition to the individual and doing my utmost to ensure that each individual achieves their goals, whatever they may be.
In addition to my education and training, I lived in Austria for 3 years working as an English Language Assistant for the British Council. This invaluable time enabled me to fully hone my German language skills, and I have since worked as an online translator.

I am a qualified singing, piano and music theory teacher and have been teaching children and adults of all ages and abilities for the past five years. I especially enjoy working with beginners, creating friendly and supportive environment and making music learning fun. I have taught both privately and in schools and have prepared pupils for ABRSM exams, school concerts, choir solos, scholarship auditions and family performances.
Alongside teaching music, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in Primary schools. Many people say that music and maths go well together and that really is the case for me. I enjoyed maths at school so much that one day I wanted to become a maths teacher. Returning to Primary setting reminded me of that, so now I have decided to also offer maths tuition here on tutorextra.

I have over 15 years of experience, in teaching music to children and adults of all ages. My main profession is individual and group music lessons, within primary schools. I have many private music students - which I have now adapted to teaching, where needed, via skype/zoom or using other digital resources. This method is working incredibly well!
I am the co-founder of a music school (Exeter Music Holiday School), which has been running for 7 years. We offer workshops and individual lessons, throughout every UK, mainstream school holiday. I also play the flute in a Ceilidh band, play in the pit for panto, and have perfomed on various instruments (including vocals), for group concerts and individual performances.
As the 'Wind' section leader, for Exeter Childrens Orchestra (ECO), I am having a wondeful experinece so far, and it has given me the opportunity to brush up on my basic Bassoon skills - which is my next planned venture.
Teaching the following instruments/vocals, in schools and privately has enabled me to tutor to varying degrees, and examination levels (I generally use ABRSM, as the preffered exam board). Here are the instruments I can provide lessons for:
Flute
Clarinet
Recorder
Guitar
Ukulele
Trumpet/cornet
Piano/keyboards
Violin
Cello
Singing
Music Theory
At music school, I run workshops in world music, folk music, tales and art. Storytelling through music. Wind, strings, brass and percussion. Many workshops are adapted to the seasons, outdoor spaces so that we can explore and be inspired. Music really holds no bounderies and can be found everywhere.
I am constantly learning a new instrument, and take the exams through the levels. It keeps me on track with how it feels to learn and coping with exam prep and nerves. Empathy and connections is very important.
Being a parent, I know how important it is, to feel that your child is safe and happy with a mentor. This is why I encourge the take-up of a 'free' initial lesson, so that you feel happy and comfortable with going forward.
Although I do not have any specialist qualifications in working with children and adults with additional needs, I do have lots of experience. I have many wondefullly bright students, within these spectrums, whom have taught me so much. I am more than happy to re-invent the wheel and nurture what is important to each person. My eldest son is a child with autism, and he is an incredibly gifted musicican, who learns by ear and repitition (even though he can read music prefectly well) - as this is how he responds. He feels his way though it, and this makes his very happy. He has also happily sat many exams.
I would love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Academy
"The Musica Nova is a name to be held in respect by those engaged in promoting sound artistic values within youthful musical circles. The establishment bears the hallmark of excellence. Its principal, the distinguished Russian pianist and singer Eugenia Terentieva, ensures that her students enjoy tuition of the highest quality. Musica Nova deserves to attain outstanding success in the field of scholastic advancement"
Derek Leask. Music Critic, UK
Musica Nova, the International Academy of Music, is a unique bilingual establishment in the UK that combines the best of British and Russian principles of teaching and offers music lessons and complex Certificate programmes for children (starting as early as 3. 5 years old) and adults (up to advanced professional level).
It has six categories of classes geared to maximise the potential of the student in musical styles and genres as diverse as classics, jazz, pop, dance, and drama. It was founded in 2001 and is based in the London Borough of Camden, within walking distance of King’s Cross St. Pancras tube station (zone 1). Thanks to the Academy, children, teenagers and adults from all ethnic backgrounds, including the Russian-speaking community in London, are being introduced to a beautiful world of music, enabling them to develop and improve their talent and to embark on professional music activity.
Musica Nova has established partnership links with artistic management agencies, record companies and cultural institutions. Since March 2011 the Musica Nova has held membership of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) one of the major umbrella organisations in the UK joining professional teachers and musicians. In 2012 the Musica Nova took part in the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Music Education held at the Palace of Westminster. Recent documentaries about the Academy have been broadcast by the BBC, major national and international Russian TV channels and the Russian Hour programme on the Digital Sky TV channel.
Teachers
All teachers are highly qualified professional musicians with a Conservatoire education, and with vast teaching experience with legal working status in the UK. All new teachers are carefully assessed and vetted in accordance with DFES regulations and employment legislation and with the Musica Nova’s own quality control procedures.
Lessons and Curriculum
Lessons take place in soundproof studios, equipped with pianos and elegantly designed to bring a sense of intimacy and discipline to the teaching. Both one-to-one and group sessions of up to eight students, are run at the Academy to fit in with students and parent’s busy lifestyles. If requested, lessons can also take place at client’s home (within the London area) and online.
The programmes are specially designed to lead and direct students from very first steps in music to Certificate (Grades 1 – 8) and Degree programmes (Performing and Teaching Diplomas) with participation in concerts, recording projects, performances at the international festivals and competitions. The ‘Music Wonderland’ is an innovative authoring programme offered to younger students. In close collaboration with child psychologists it assists in teaching music to children with dyslexia, speech and concentration problems.
In 2014 the Musica Nova introduced new educational programmes. Free concert events and workshops popularising good quality classical and contemporary music are open for children and adults in the Camden Russian communities in London.
Exams
Every year over 200 students are successfully assessed and receive Diplomas from major national examination boards. Students continue further music education in colleges and conservatoires in the UK (Royal Academy of Music, Royal Music College, Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Cambridge and Oxford Universities) and Russia (State Conservatoire in Saint Petersburg, Gnessin Institution in Moscow).

The Musical Box Bicester School, Learning Centre

The Musical Box is a privately owned and run music school dedicated to teaching contemporary music skills in drums, guitar (acoustic and electric), bass guitar, piano/ keyboards, ukulele and vocals to students of all ages and abilities. We offer a comprehensive and varied syllabus to cater for beginners, grade students, intermediate players and experiences/ semi professional musicians. While TMB is a ‘School of Rock’, we also teach classical, jazz, folk, pop, funk, soul and all points in between. Every teacher at TMB is handpicked and chosen for a combination of his/her qualifications, music capabilities and the ability to communicate and empathise with people from all walks of life. All teachers are DBS checked before working at TMB.
TMB believe passionately that fun and pleasure in making music are fundamental to good learning so that while every lesson, within reason, is planned and tailored to the student’s individual requirements, the key element will be just that – FUN! Once you have honed your skills in your personalised one to one lessons, we believe whole heartedly that playing an instrument or singing is best done with other people, although this is not compulsory!! So at The Musical Box we actively encourage musicians to meet and play with other likeminded students for fun or for more serious ambitions as well as take lessons. TMB want music to be seen as a serious career choice for those who take it that seriously and aim to provide the skills and experiences required to make it in the music industry. We also appreciate more and more every day what great stress buster music is, and how sociable and relaxing it can be to play for an hour with a band or teacher learning to better your skill and improve your well being.
