I am an extremely successful Psychology teacher, and examiner, with 25 years experience. I teach any level. I have taught in very prestigious private schools and also in state education. I am the current Head of Psychology at an excellent school. My students, consistently, acheive within the top 5% in the country. Past students have achieved the top score in the UK at A Level. I am a Team Leader for A Level Psychology with the examination board. I can provide a bespoke service for students, working with them to acheive their goals.

During last more than 10 years I have first hand teaching experience in the University in the UK and Canada. I have PhD in Aerospace engineering and had worked before at Pratt and Whitney Canada which is an aircraft engine manufacturer. Also, I have strong experience on online tutoring on engineering subjects, physics and maths. I can confidently explain mathematical and scientific principles and concepts using diagram and formula on digital white boards. I was also qualified by the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (PGCE). And, I am a Chartered Engineer (CEng) as a member of Institution of Mechanical Engineer (IMechE) in the UK. I have been teaching Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Dynamics, Heat Transfer in undergraduate degree program as well as Physics, Maths and Enigineering Science in Foundation program. Thus, I have both teaching experience as well as practical experience. From my strong experience I am confident on my teaching approach and able to understand well various students thoughts and needs.

I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. It is focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic, before applying that knowledge to solving questionnaires. I also specially aid with exam preparation to share my own unique methods of working and exam techniques/tips. I have taught a wide age group from 5 to 24, which my past tutor sessions were based on creativity of my hobbies such as art, which always worked absolutely well since when I was a GCSE student.
I have many experiences working with children, especially with spending my work experience as an assistant in a primary school class, I was able to interact and deal with various situations to keep the children calm, focused and motivated. About my lessons:
To begin I like to dive into my students strengths and weakness in the subject area to gain a better idea of how to cater my lessons in a way that would best benefit my students time .I then personalise lessons around my students to hit specific target areas, looking at how to meet exam board objectives, going over how to structure answers to meet top band and then doing practice exam questions. I also implement active recall each week to continually reinforce my student memory and go back over past material .Practice exam questions and active recall have been proved to be one of the most effective ways to retain information and are key in achieving higher grades. And to end each session off I give a student a small, manageable task to complete before our next session to further consolidate their understanding.

I tutor because I want to teach students what they can achieve with the power of English and to share my love for the subject with them, as well as helping someone to achieve to their higher potential.

I am a fully qualified (QTS) secondary teacher of Biology with 9 years experience working in mainstream schools and I have been tutoring for the last 5 years. I have tutored GCSE and A level biology following the OCR and AQA specifications. I am passionate about my subject and provide a range of reources from past exam questions, experimental methods, animations and text books to enable students to fully understand the subject and for them to achieve thier best. I work on the basis of the students informing me what they would like to revise, go over or learn and plan acordingly for the following session, i can also help with homework set by the class teacher. I provide extra resources for the students to use after the tutoring session which we can go over the following session if they require it.
