I am an Honours graduate in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde. I taught Mathematics to children from ages 12 to 18 for 26 years, and have successfully prepared many classes for public examinations at National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher (Mathematics and Mechanics) and A-Level. I also have considerable experience in the one-to-one tuition of students, both in school and privately. I try to keep my part of the lesson to a minimum, so that the student can get as much practice as possible. I can tailor lessons to cover a particular need, and can provide plenty of examples to work on. Piano and classical languages are two other areas of interest, especially the works of Schubert, and the writings of the Latin poets.

I'm Laura, and I've always loved learning about the world around me. This led to studying physics to a doctoral level, and discovering my passion lies in the communication of science, and sharing my enthusiasm for the subject.
In my lessons I favour a conversational approach. This allows me to engage the student while showing me their thinking. From here I can gently disentangle any confusion leading to a deeper understanding of the topic.
Lesosns themselves are tailored to the student and can include teaching of new content, revision of previous content or practicing questions together to help the student achieve mastery. I am flexible and happy to know the topic in advance or for the student to turn up on the day and let me know what they would like to practice. This can include any questions that came up over the week in other lessons of the subject at school, for instance.
I do have split pricing, so I charge £50 per hour during the week, and £55 per hour at the weekend.

Miss Lara started dancing Ballet over 17 years and have the teaching experience in 9 years. She is well- known in Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and she also could provide the class of PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique). All level and age is welcome.
The class would based on your needs, such as keep practicing the RAD syllabus (if you would have an exam on or you just want to start with the syllabus) or just the Free Exercise class. Miss Lara would based on the age you might be learned to provide the exercise in the class. All classes are included the warm up exercise, barre work(except under age 5), centre work, include the adage, allegro, and the relaxation for end the class. All classes in 60 mins.
if you are a new learner or an advanced dancer, you still can attend the class of PBT ( Progessing Ballet of Technique), which is good for working on your muscles, but it takes time to keep practicing. After a period of practice, you could feel the improvements in your normal dance class.

Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of serving as a biology teacher, dedicated to imparting a comprehensive understanding of the subject to students at the A-level. This role has allowed me to combine my profound passion for biology with a commitment to education, resulting in a deeply fulfilling and enriching experience.
One of the key strengths of my approach lies in my extensive knowledge of the A-level biology curriculum. This in-depth understanding enables me to design and deliver lessons that align seamlessly with the specific learning objectives and requirements set forth by the educational board. I am adept at breaking down complex biological concepts into digestible, relatable components, ensuring that students not only grasp the material but also appreciate the interconnectedness of biological phenomena.
In order to cater to the diverse learning styles and individualized needs of my students, I employ a personalized teaching methodology. By leveraging a range of virtual tools and platforms, I create interactive lessons that foster active participation and critical thinking. Through multimedia presentations, virtual labs, and interactive simulations, I aim to bring the subject matter to life, allowing students to engage with biology in a dynamic and immersive manner.
Assessment and feedback are integral components of my teaching philosophy. I believe that regular evaluation is essential for tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement. As such, I administer a variety of assessments, including quizzes, assignments, and examinations, all meticulously designed to gauge students' comprehension and retention of the material. Additionally, I provide timely and constructive feedback, offering specific guidance on how to enhance their understanding and performance.
Beyond the academic realm, I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. I believe that a positive and encouraging atmosphere is crucial for students to thrive and feel empowered in their educational journey. I actively encourage open discussions, creating a space where questions are welcomed and curiosity is nurtured. This approach not only promotes a deeper understanding of biology but also cultivates critical thinking skills and a genuine appreciation for the subject.
Moreover, I am highly responsive to the unique needs and concerns of each student. Whether through one-on-one sessions, email correspondence, or virtual office hours, I make myself readily available to address any queries or challenges that may arise. This personalized attention ensures that every student feels valued and supported throughout their learning experience.
In reflecting on my experience as an online biology teacher, I am continually inspired by the progress and achievements of my students. Witnessing their growth, both academically and personally, is a source of immense gratification. It reaffirms my dedication to not only disseminating knowledge but also instilling a lifelong love for learning and an enduring curiosity about the natural world.
In conclusion, my tenure as a biology teacher for A-level students has been characterized by a deep-seated passion for the subject, a commitment to tailored and engaging instruction, and a genuine investment in the success and well-being of my students. I look forward to continuing this rewarding journey, helping shape the next generation of aspiring biologists and scientists.
