I am an award-winning and highly experienced "super" tutor and academic coach with over 15 years of tutoring, teaching and coaching experience, during which period I have made multiple students become university toppers and world prize winners. As for my own qualifications, I have a First Class Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Doctorate in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations). MY STORY
I am currently a grade-one “outstanding” teacher in my present school, and have been delivering KS3, GCSE and A Level English, Maths and History in the secondary and sixth-form sectors for the past 16 years, in which time my results have far surpassed national pass rates. Moreover, due to these outstanding results and innovative teaching methods, I have served as Assistant Head of Department; helping us to be awarded an internal grade 1 “outstanding” rating for the 6 years in which I held the post. Furthermore, I also have extensive experience as an “Advanced Practitioner”-tasked with turning around failing cohorts in some of the UK’s toughest classrooms, as well as my time as an examiner for a variety of GCSE/A Level exam boards.

I have a broad range of experience turning around struggling students in some of the UK’s toughest classrooms, as well as challenging high achieving learners in the pursuit of academic excellence. In my teaching and tutoring career thus far, I have taught across the curriculum age-ranges (7-18 years), as well as undergraduate and postgraduate level students, and specialise in teaching troubled learners lacking confidence, whilst pushing very bright pupils.

TUTORING APPROACH
Besides enjoying superb results, my pupils benefit from a relaxed yet challenging atmosphere, with high commitment being expected of them and this has shown to bring both personal and academic growth, which is always pleasing to see. In terms of my lesson delivery, I always strive to be on the cutting-edge of education in use of teaching resources and methods. Therefore, my approach to tutoring makes use of the techniques of “blended learning”, utilising advanced video-conferencing software, modern presentational packages such as Prezi, powerful virtual learning environments and resourced by well-known educational companies, all supported by online platforms provided by GCSE Bitesize, amongst others. I have been teaching at Secondary level for more than 25 years including being head of department. I teach A level Maths and Further Maths where I specialise in mechanics and decision Maths. I am a current examiner at both GCSE and A level Maths. I like students to enjoy my sessions, have a laugh and feel able to ask when they need help. I use the online platform Bramble. I also offer small groups of up to 4 students at £20.

I am a qualified teacher and have held various positions in schools for the past 19 years. As well as being a Teacher, I also teach online because students needed that extra support outside of the classroom and I have led a successful business for the past 5 years.
I have a plethora of resources: I never fall short on exam papers and predicted papers; interactive videos; every lesson is personailsed; and a track record that produces results every time. I hold a full DBS and am an Examiner for Edexcel. I have been fortunate to have taught a variety of exam boards that has made me have the edge when it comes to teaching: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, iGCSE, iGCSE Cambridge Board to name a few. I teach from KS1 through to KS4.

I have been a Middle Leader, a Lead Practitioner, a Director of Learning, and have led successful STEM classes and am passionate about the subjects surrounding Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. I have also led successful debates in debate competitions. I have been a finalist at The University of Leeds three consecutive years with “Solutions for the Planet” programme and have taken students as finalists at The Houses of Parliament with a solution on sustainability.

I am a fully qualified teacher, originally specialising in History. I have taught History up to GCSE level and studied it to masters degree level.
Maths.
I also spent a lot of time teaching maths and English to students in school and later to adult students online. Maths is a subject that a lot of people struggle with, but tutoring can make a big difference to your understanding and confidence. I can teach up to GCSE level.
For any adult learners, I taught maths and English Functional Skills with a high pass rate. Don't worry if you haven't done maths for years - we will tailor the lessons around this.
History.
I am qualified up to master's degree level and have taught the subject up to GCSE. We can focus on historical knowledge, historical context, sources or essay writing. English is a big part of essay writing for GCSE so we can also focus on that of required.
My main teaching method used is the '"I do, we do, you do". I have a wealth of on-screen resources so there's plenty of opportunities to practice. We don't move on until you understand the topic in question. There are no silly questions - be brave and ask! There's so many benefits to having individual tutoring and you will find that your understanding improves.
