I currently teach part time at a secondary school in West Norfolk to ensure I keep my mathematcis skills up to date and understand the latest exam requirements and teaching methods. Along side of this I tutor pupils both at their home address and also using online sessions as required.
As well as experience with all UK exam boards for maths I also have experience with the IGCSE Maths exam. Recently I have began to teach statistics at GCSE and now also offer tutoring in Statistics.
Pupils use my tutoring lessons to ensure they fully understand what they have been taught in school, to help improve their exam grades and to assist with home schooling lessons. I tailor my tutoring for each pupil and discuss their needs and requirements with them not only during the first tutoring lesson but on an ongoing basis.
i have expreience tutoring pupils who excel at maths and pupils who struggle with their maths. I also have experience with SEND pupils including Autusim, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and ADHD.
I prefer to travel no more then 20 miles from my home address but am happy to provide online tutoring if that is easier.

I am a professional maths physics and engineering tutor with over 4 years experience (500 hrs +) tutoring online and in person. I am a chartered civil engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers CEng FICE.
I am a part time lecturer in civil engineering at a local regional college in Belfast.
I have extensive experience tutoring children from primary school, age 9, through to 11+ Transfer Test as well as GCSE, AS and A Level. I also tutor adult learners in civil engineering and maths.
My approach to tutoring is to work at the pace of the student and bring the topics back to first principles so the student gains a thorough understanding of the basics. Once that is achieved, he or she can tackle the more complex problems with confidence.

I am a qualified Maths Teacher and an online Tutor. I use a variety of techniques and resources in order to teach and inspire minds. I am fully DBS cleared and have taught through the changes in education over the years and am fully knowledgeable in the current 9-1 GCSE specification. I am comfortable teaching all walks of learners and try my 100% best to make sure that learning is relevant, engaging and fun.
I have a plethora of resources so that students hit their target grade or beyond. In my experience, students tend look at questions as a big problem rather than thinking that questions are made up of smaller steps within a problem. Each student will receive an individual plan at the start of lesson one.
I am also a GCSE Expert Examiner for Edexcel, marking both Foundation and Higher Maths. I also teach at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 2.
I am able to teach online and comfortably at your home, however, due to the current situation with COVID, I prefer to teach online. I use a Huoin pen and tablet with an onscreen whiteboard. I will provide full resources; questions, answers, solutions and exam papers relevant to your exam specification. I teach all topics in Maths and keep up to date with any new developments with exam boards.
I have been a Middle Leader, a Lead Practitioner, a Director of Learning, and have led successful STEM classes and am passionate about the subjects surrounding Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. I also run a debate team at my current school; have been a finalist at The University of Leeds three consecutive years with “Solutions for the Planet” programme and have taken students as finalists at The Houses of Parliament with a solution on sustainability.

I have a great deal of experience as a tutor. I have been working at one of the UK's leading Grammar Schools for the past four years. I tutor maths GCSE and A level online. I have also conducted numerous online webinars/ webclasses and drop-in sessions for students across the country for A Level maths. I love to make maths engaging. My instagram and YouTube accounts (Mark-a-minute maths) has had a wide following from students and I consistently post short 1 minute videos for students to get snappy, bitesize reviews of topics and model answers to exam questions.

I have a total of 4 years of tutoring experience, with both tutoring agencies and in private tuition. I have taught GCSE and A level students across a variety of exam boards, namely Edexcel, AQA, OCR and JWEC. My students have gone to excel in their chosen subjects with significantly improved results.
As a tutor I use a webcam via Skype or Zoom to communicate with my students and a virtual whiteboard to write and explain as I go along. As part of my teaching many of my students have given me positive feedback of how homework and lectures aid and reinforce their learning outside tuition classes.
I usually correct the homework and highlight the corrections before starting a new subject material to ensure my students feel confident that they have mastered a topic before moving ahead. I also make PowerPoint lecture slides and handouts for my students which I am always more than happy to email. After covering the syllabus content, I usually leave ample time to discuss past exam paper questions and how to answer them.
The core principle of my lessons is to first and foremost lay a foundation for the subject material for my students and then to build up the complexity. I highly encourage understanding scientific principles rather than rote memorisation to my students.
I believe learning should be tailored to every students’ individual needs and requirements and they should enjoy the learning material.

Rebecca K. Testimonial August 2020
I first met Rebecca K. nearly 20 years ago when as Headteacher of an exceptional private independent school I needed to employ a Head of English.
Rebecca stood out against other well qualified applicants.
Not only did she have excellent subject knowledge but showed real passion for enhancing children’s love for learning and excitement.
Over the years she demonstrated this repeatedly and not only in English, her ability and passion for other subjects was amazing and she could readily be asked to teach Maths, IT, Geography to name but a few.
As my career extended to becoming an Executive Headteacher over several schools I could call on Rebecca to advise and recommend about various up to date teaching and learning materials and techniques.
Apart from her professional knowledge she is warm caring person who really cares about the children she teaches of all abilities. She is patient, understanding and quickly appreciates the way a child learns and adapts her teaching to that individual. She has a good sense of humour which she readily uses to get the best out of her pupils without putting too much pressure on them to succeed.
If you require additional support for your child, I would thoroughly recommend you talk to Rebecca, I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

Hi all,
My name is Sam W. and I am a mathematics teacher from Nottingham, UK.
July 2017 I have been tutoring online part-time and have now moved to full-time tutoring through zoom platforms, 5 days a week. I enjoy working with students (children/adults) that have a passion for mathematics or who struggle with the basics.
I have experience working in both primary and secondary mainstream settings, whilst currently working part time also, in an alternative provision for students with special needs. I deliver both 30 minute & 50 minute lessons, reaching students across the UK and as far as eastern asia.
I would be more then happy to offer a free trial session, so that I can get to know the student and find out exactly what it is they enjoy/struggle with.
My lessons are fun, interactive and as practical as can be :)
I hope to hear from you soon

It is a delight to be able to support all maths students, including those with learning difficulties, such as dyscalculia and maths anxiety, to exceed their expectations. My teaching is tailored around an individual student's needs. I deliver structured, enjoyable, enriched sessions, which use the latest evidence-based learning techniques. I offer excellent value for money. My fees have been reduced to reflect our current situation. This fee will not increase once a student has signed up with me.
Recent feedback from students, colleagues and employers:
"I have always struggled with maths. I was diagnosed with Dyscalculia when I enrolled in college. Although I was given support it’s been years since I’ve had anyone help me. As soon as I met Linda, I felt comfortable enough with her to share my difficulties with numbers without feeling ashamed. She was able to explain things in a way that I can understand and give me different coping mechanisms for the areas I worry about the most. Linda is a lovely and patient teacher who puts her most into each student, I can’t thank her enough!" Lynn, Adult Learner 2020
"Linda was very helpful and showed me different ways to deal with numbers. Very patient and made me feel at ease when dealing with money." Connor, Student 2020
"The way Linda explains things to me and understands the way I think, really helps me. Thank you!" Wynter, Student 2020
"Linda is always polite. Her sessions have structure, and she uses a large number of strategies and resources to accommodate all levels and abilities of her students. I have worked with many maths tutors and Linda is the most professional, empathetic and honest tutor I have worked with." Steve, Learning Support 2020
"Brilliant and professional Tutor, very approachable and patient with both young and older learners. Had first-hand experience of Linda in action. Would highly recommend Linda to anyone!" Chris, Employer 2020

I am a private Maths tutor, offering on-line or face-to-face tuition. I was a Secondary maths teacher for nearly 23 years, and have been private tutoring since 1990. In the past 8 years, since I last taught in a Secondary school I have been doing more tuition with the odd bit of supply work. I have been an exam marker for a number of years - I used to mark Key Stage 3 SATS papers and in the last 8 years have been working most years for Edexcel Pearson marking GCSE Foundation Non-calculator papers.
I really enjoy one-to-one tutoring! It feels great to be able to help a student gain more belief in their own mathematical ability, so that they can tackle exam papers with more confidence, and feel that they can relate better to the Maths skills they need for everyday life.

My degree in Mathematics and Statistics indicates an appropriate level of subject proficiency, which has been consolidated and extended throughout my teaching career. My experience demonstrates that I have the expertise and drive to deliver a robust Mathematics curriculum up to A-Level. Specifically, I can analyse statistical information and decide what action to take; meet deadlines and handle several projects at once; deal tactfully with children of differing backgrounds; and persuade and motivate staff to play their full part in team activities. I have gained these skills from the analytical nature of my degree, together with the organising and team work which has been important part of my work experience as Head of (and previously teacher of) Mathematics. My commercial experience, detailed in my application form, is also cogent to my ability to organise, audit and improve business models.
My experience as Director of Learning for Mathematics involved managing a team of eight staff, chairing regular departmental meetings, providing leadership and overseeing ongoing professional development. My role also involved creating new policies and procedures for the Mathematics Department. As a Tutor, I provided training for Newly Qualified Teachers, helping them to plan lessons and offering them strategies for effective classroom management.
As the Gifted and Talented (G&T) Coordinator, my duties included identification of the Gifted and Talented students by looking at KS 2, 3 & 4 data and registering them with the Association of Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY). I represented Dunraven School at the Gifted & Talented Lambeth Borough meetings for two years.
I have been trained to teach Mathematics up to ‘A’ Level and have successfully taught the full ability range. My use of differentiated materials in the classroom has aided my teaching in developing the students’ knowledge and grasp of mathematical concepts. I encourage the use of Information Technology whenever the curriculum lends itself to the effective use of computers. I have used software packages such as SuccessMaker and Headstart to improve students’ numeracy and literacy skills. Through the use of displays and cross curricular activities I have promoted and developed an awareness of Multicultural Mathematics. I speak fluent Urdu, Hindi and French which has proved to be a real asset to students who are comfortable with these languages, whilst retaining English as the prime medium of instruction and understanding.
My experience at Key Stage 3 has included the implementation of a number of exercises designed to support the learning of mathematical concepts in Using & Applying Mathematics, Number and Algebra, Shape and Space and Data Handling. At KS4 & KS5, I consistently organise extensive revision classes during the Easter holidays and half-term breaks to help students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics. I introduced the early GCSE Maths entry at Dunraven for the very able and facilitated stretching the most able students further by doing an extra GCSE in Statistics and Additional Maths. This has proved to be very successful, making the Maths Department one of the strongest at Dunraven.
My contribution to wider school activities include: the role of Form Tutor, organising assemblies, educational visits and Activity Week events, which included making a short film with the students which was subsequently broadcast on Zee television. Acting as an Ed-Excel GCSE Examiner for the past five years has also been very beneficial to both students and the department. I also acted as an Examiner for the GCSE Urdu & Hindi Oral examinations. My work has been recognised and covered by a number of specialist teaching magazines as well as the BBC. Specifically, such product has covered my classroom practice, encouraging undergraduates to join the teaching profession.
I am currently teaching Mathematics up to A Level standard at one of the top independent schools in London.

Savandhi G.
Tutor, Teacher, Instructor

I am a highly qualified, organised and self-driven individual with experience in working with children from years 1 to 13, teaching Mathematics in schools and as a private tutor. I have excellent time management skills and extensive experience in preparing engaging lessons adhering to the curriculum and each students’ learning needs and style.
Reflecting on my personal educational experience, external reading and modules I’ve taken up on teaching on top of my degree, I appreciate the impact the teachers make on the lives of young people. Furthermore, I believe that the skills and knowledge acquired throughout a young person’s education academically and personally has an immeasurable influence on their future. Therefore, as a tutor, I teach the material critically, specifically by expanding on the “whys” and the “hows” behind different techniques which would then encourage the students to look at the world more critically.
Additionally, I believe that understanding the reasoning behind each step from a young age is essential to strengthen their independent problem solving skills. Moreover, I believe this is pivotal in reducing maths anxiety, a common type of anxiety many suffer from which has proven to have an adverse effect on academic performance and motivation levels of students across all years.
My Educational Ethos
Throughout my experience as a teaching assistant, I have noticed that many students across all year groups abandon questions if it seems unfamiliar or difficult at first glance. However, when broken down in to steps students are capable of either working out a few of the steps towards the correct answer or reaching the complete answer by themselves.
I believe that one of the main reasons leading to this is the students’ lack of confidence in their ability and knowledge. Therefore, as part of my teaching process I focus on bridging the gap between classwork and being able to adapt their learnings to solve problems.
1. Starter activity
To build their confidence and reinforce their learnings, I start each of my lessons with a starter activity. This would include few questions on the material they have learned in previous lessons or the learnings directly relevant to the material covered in that lesson. I feel that this gives the students the opportunity to refresh their memory and skills whilst subtly drawing attention to the tools necessary for that lesson. These review activities and regular exercises help commit their learnings to long term memory leading to improved academic results.
For example, if the lesson was about using the circle theorems to find the angle x in a circle, I would start my lesson with a fun activity involving circle theorems.
2. Frequent reviewing sessions
Similarly, I like to commit half an hour to an hour per month reviewing and refreshing the material they’ve learnt over the course of the month. This is a great opportunity for the students to ask questions and brush up on their skills. Furthermore, this gives me an opportunity to review their understanding and focus on the divisions I feel could be improved. These reviewing sessions ensure effective learning as most of the material is built upon previous skills and learnings and consolidating the underpinning topics is key, especially in Mathematics.
3. Exercises
I believe the exercises given to the student must be tailored to their educational level and include questions which stretch their understanding to reach their maximum potential. This is because the first few exercises must build their confidence and then that can confidence can be used to introduce and encourage students to attempt more challenging problems.
With my lessons, I adapt the exercises per student depending on their ability because I strongly believe that this is the most effective method of teaching as no two students are the same. As a private tutor, I believe that this is the perfect opportunity for the students to gain the most personalised and therefore most effective lessons. Therefore, I make my lessons highly adaptive to cater to the needs and educational level of the students to enable them to reach their maximum results.
4. The whys and the hows
If the students understand the underpinning concepts behind each method, then I believe that leads to better results. A majority of the times, students are taught each method as a set of instructions. However, I believe that this is not the most effective way of teaching or learning as this does not promote independent problem solving skills and the likelihood of confusion increases if the students were to learn a set of processes per each topic. Therefore, I teach topics by placing emphasis on the objective of the problem and explaining why each step is taken.
I believe that education should be focused on the individual needs, and engage students in the process of their learning. I believe that all students have strengths and acquired knowledge, and the purpose of education is to assist students in identifying and building upon these.
One-on-one tutoring gives the opportunity for the teachings to be catered to the individual style and needs of the student which is not fulfilled to the same extent in school. Therefore, tutoring is the perfect opportunity for the student to reach their maximum potential because unlike in schools, these lessons will be going at a pace that is right for the student. Thus, it gives them the opportunity to master all areas.
For these reasons, my lessons are unique and made with the student in mind to cater to their individual needs and learning styles. This is how I ensure the students reach their maximum potential!

Hi there!
I am a qualified English Literature and Language teacher and Teach First ambassador, specialising in secondary schools (years 7-13), since 2012, and prep schools (years 4-8) since 2018. I also teach mathematics up to and including Upper KS2: Long Division, Common Factors, Common Multiples, Prime Numbers, Mental Calculations, Square and Cube Numbers and more for that Key Stage.
I have been tutoring one-to-one since 2015 and found, since the 2020 lockdown, that tutoring online can be just as beneficial if not better for several reasons: no travel for either party; shared resources online rather than requiring a printer, therefore saving paper; allowance for different ways of communicating rather than just speech - for example, silent discussions through typed notes that can be edited, saved and stored immediately - which is especially beneficial for students with speech impairments or those who communicate better through writing.
I have been working for a home-education group in the woods near to where I live since September 2019 and have continued to learn and explore the importance of creativity, immersion in a task and a level of autonomy on a student's learning path. I aim to reproduce what I have learnt in my years of experience to offer online tutoring lessons for both individuals and groups.
My experience spans from working in one of the most poverty-stricken provinces in Buenos Aires in 2010 as an English tutor for disadvantaged children, to working as the private tutor for my school's Sheikh's son in Qatar during my three years working in a British international school out there. (2015-2018.) I am interested in all people from all walks of life and all educational backgrounds.
If you think I could help you / your child in their education, please get in touch. I am also a writer and assistant reader for Firewords magazine in my spare time. My subject is my life.
Please contact me directly at ***@*** for a free first lesson! I look forward to hearing from you.

I’m 31 years of age. I have a variety of interests including football, video games and Marvel comics and films. For the last 3 winters I took a break from teaching to spend time abroad working the winter ski seasons. Unfortunately I’m still not an expert skier and my snowboarding is rubbish, but I saw some beautiful sights!
10 years in total as a maths teacher (including training year).
1 and a half years as second in department, including training new teachers.
Have continued work on term placements over the last 2 years in between ski work.
I develop fundamental understanding through thought provoking questions and a patient approach.
I endeavour to liaise with class teachers to ensure that the work covered in tuition is there to develop understanding in weak areas as oppose to identifying them.
When necessary I can use my experience of the 3 main exam boards and corresponding materials to help identify challenging topics.
