I grew up and completed all my schooling in north London, in the beautiful suburb of East Finchley – home of one of the oldest cinemas in England and the UK Head Office of McDonalds! Graduating in Psychology from Bristol University in 2000 led me to further my interest in cognitive and developmental psychology by completing an MSc in Child Development at the Institute of Education (University College – London). I have experience working with children with special needs (autistic spectrum disorders, dyslexia) as well as being a member of several developmental research teams both at the Institute of Psychiatry (Kings College, London) and the Institute of Child Health (University College, London
After spending some time working for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the Department of Education in London I took some time out and spent 6 months in Kenya where I partook in some voluntary work, working on several education and health-based projects in partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation as well as travelling extensively through eastern and southern Africa on a truck safari for 2 months.
On my return to London I went back to the Department of Education where I really learnt first-hand what it is like behind the scenes of education, getting involved in policy/decision making and question selection of examinations. This is where my interest in teaching really grew. My passion was always to work with young people and teaching is definitely a career like no other, so in 2003 I finally took the step and completed the Primary PGCE at Cambridge University. I have been teaching the British Curriculum since 2005 in inner city London schools (Grades 1 to 5). From the word go I immersed myself fully into school life- both within the classroom and amongst the wider school community. I have held key management responsibilities across all schools that I have worked in such as Head of Key Stage 2 (7-11 years), Year 5 (Grade 4) Leader and Gifted and Talented coordinator, to name a few. I worked with gifted writers in Grade 1 to develop their descriptive writing skills and set up a young journalist group with high performing writers in Grades 4 and 5, publishing a school newspaper every term.
I decided to make the move to the Middle East in 2014, moving to Doha initially, where I was Head of Year 5 (Grade 4) at a large 6-form entry school with predominantly Qatari children. This role involved introducing and implementing a more creative topic-based curriculum and teaching a class of 28 Qatari boys. I moved to Dubai in 2015 and have been teaching here ever since, most recently at the Swiss school where I teach Grade 4 and developed leadership skills through the Primary School Council.
As part of my travel and through voluntary work, I have visited a number of schools in both Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi (working on a project promoting health and hygiene, as well as advising on special educational needs)– where in some classes there are over 100 children all eager to learn with barely any resources or technology! One of my passions is travelling and finding out about different cultures and traditions – having travelled extensively in Europe, North America, Africa, South-East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Charity is another one of my passions, having set up a charity in my last London school to provide clean water (boreholes) and proper toilet facilities to schools in Mombasa – Kenya. I have most recently been involved in initiatives set up by Dubai Cares and the WE Organisation. I enjoy encouraging children to show an interest in the world, to be curious about different countries and cultures and to be internationally-minded, bringing in all our experiences and backgrounds into the classroom setting. My other interests lie in art, particularly contemporary, abstract and impressionist art – you will often find me around Alserkal Avenue or at Cinema Akil or visiting various art exhibitions in Sharjah. I enjoy keeping fit, playing squash and the more extreme sports such as sky diving and bungee jumping. Most recently I have taken up stand up paddling and a bit of yoga!
My philosophy in life has been to never judge a book by its cover – in teaching to not make preconceived judgements about a child without getting to know them inside out. I allow every child an equal chance, the opportunity to be inquisitive and to be able to ask lots of questions.

I am currently a teacher of science / biology at an independent school in Wakefield, teaching KS3 Science, GCSE Biology and 'A' level Biology. Having taught students of all abilities for over 20 years, I have experience in developing individual students learning to allow the student to progress to a level that allows them to obtain grades above their indicator levels.
My teaching is thorough, focusing on the key aspects of the specification and targeting the students learning to examination techniques, that will allow them to access key marking points in order to obtain high levels of attainment.
I ensure that my teaching is structured to the individual students ability, differentiating tasks and questions when required.
Prices on my profile are for online tutoring, taking into account that families are currently under financial restrictions. At this time I would like to offer support to students at a time and cost suitable for all families.

As an academic science and maths tutor I have over 10 years teaching and tutoring experience. I currently teach science part time at a high school in Wales, which allows me to keep up-to-date with the ongoing changes with the National Curriculum. I teach biology, chemistry and physics to GCSE level and maths at key stage 2 and 3.
All tutoring is done online, I use Google Meets and Google Classroom to teach all my online students. Google Meets allows us to chat face to face via video link and also alows me to share my screen and whiteboard. Google Classroom alows me to set homework or assignments and provide my students with feedback and additional resources they would not ususally get with a regular tutoring session. Each student will have their own login for Google Classroom and resources will be tailored and personal to www.*** ;
Many of my students work on developing their knowledge and confidence at GCSE level or boosting their understanding of maths at key stage 2 and 3. I also teach exam preparation and intensive revision sessions during exam periods. In addition I currently have a number of students who are preparing for high school. I work with these students in developing their confidence and resiliance to ensure that their high school fears are www.*** ;
Due to current pandemic I have reduced the cost of all tutoring sessions to £ www.*** ;

I have over forty years' experience of private tuition to students aged 3 to adult. I have taught maths and English to all ages, including preparing students for entrance exams and adult candidates for the QTS skills tests. I have worked with those for whom English is not their first language, to help them improve their skills.
I have also led after school tuition centres for 25 years. Currently centres are open in Crofton and Wrenthorpe and serve students from Leeds, Pontefract and Barnsley as well as the greater Wakefield area. The centres provide individualised study programmes in maths, English and science for students aged 3 to 16 (or GCSE pass) in a friendly, supportive environment. A free assessment is carried out to ascertain what materials would best suit each student. Assessments are also carried out on an ongoing basis to monitor progress. Fees are reasonable; discounts apply for siblings and multiple subjects.

Hello all! My name is Matt and I am 24 and just about to start my 4th year teaching having started at my school after University and now wish to offer tuition services after school hours in a range of subjects and preparation for 11+ examinations and grammar school entry. In my current post I am a Year 6 form tutor, Head of Computing whilst also teaching 2 English classes and a variety of PE and Games lessons. I find that my young age enables me to personalise learning easily, building productive working relationships with children built through humour, trust and common interests.
I specialise in finding innovative methods of teaching, especially for those with learning difficulties as it is my belief that all children are capable if given the right tools to succeed, which can sometimes be a simple fix or more complex. Either way, I take it on myself to try a range of things that may help each individual as every child's mind functions in different ways; this has paid off in my previous classes, especially in regard to creative writing.
I am relatively flexibile outside of normal school hours and would be more than happy to discuss sessions to best suit individual needs in regard to time, location and subject(s). Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any queries.

I completed my secondary science PGCE in 2015. I am a Biology specialist, however, I have good subject knowledge and experience of teaching in all three sciences. I am also highly adaptable. I have taught across key stage 3 and key stage 4, including year 11 groups who I taught physics, chemistry and biology. I have been included in general CPD in schools and also in departmental moderation of marking across GCSE. I have taught at several Sheffield schools including High Storrs, Sheffield Park Academy, Sheffield Springs Academy, Birley Community College, Firth Park Academy and Forge Valley School. I have been tutoring for over a year and I teach science, geography and maths GCSE both higher and foundation level. I've taught the content for AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards. I also tutor 6th form students in both year 12 and 13 at Biology A Level. I have tutored students through university foundation courses for healthcare and education degree courses. I can also tutor maths and science for university GCSE equivalency exams. Science and maths education is something I have always been passionate about and I try to encourage students to share this passion. It is vital to ensure that all students receive the best education possible and it is my belief that they should receive it in a caring and supportive environment. I refuse to believe that any student cannot succeed in a subject, especially something as versatile and flexible as science and maths, there is always a way to get through to any student. While this is more of a personal belief, I have yet to see anything to the contrary. I have been involved with extra-curricular activities; film club, lunch and break duties, corridor patrols and form activities. I have also received weekly training sessions by specialists in school on teaching both SEN and EAL students and improving my own pedagogy.

I have been in education for over 25 years and have gained a vast amount of experinece in the classroom with children from nursery to year 6 inclusive and have also tutored children in recpeption to year 11 inclusive.
I believe in building on strengths and planning individual programmes for each tutee based on these and their preferred learning method. I do not believe in sticking to what the government expect children to be able to do but work to the level the tutee is at enabling them to achieve their true potential.
I have successfully tutored children with special educational needs including dyslexia where I have seen reading ages increase by 2 years in the space of 6 months. I have enabled year 6 children to achieve beyond their predicted score in SATs and have a 100% record with 11+ and independent school entrance exams - indeed 2 of my tutees gained scholarships to a school that only gives 2 a year.
Please feel free to visit my website for more testimonials and information. www.***

I went into teaching as it has always been my passion to try to make a difference in children's lives.
After careful consideration I decided to leave mainstream education and set up my own learning centre using kinaesthetic activities with play therapy.
The centre also offers meditation in order to promote wellbeing in body, mind and spirit.
I believe children are all individual and no two children are the same.
My motto is "when a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower"
