I am currently using Facetime and Zoom to teach my tutees but I would usually teach at my house. I was an ice skating professional and teacher and then did a degree and a teaching certificate. I have been in my current day-time job teaching in a sixth form college since 1989. I tutor English Language, English Literature, Drama, Languages, Dance, Performing Arts and Maths. I attended Tiffin Girls' Grammar when I was young. I prepare tutees for 11+ and entrance exams. I am a senior examiner, a moderator and a Lead Verifier. I have co-authored 5 text books.

I have a total of 4 years of tutoring experience, with both tutoring agencies and in private tuition. I have taught GCSE and A level students across a variety of exam boards, namely Edexcel, AQA, OCR and JWEC. My students have gone to excel in their chosen subjects with significantly improved results.
As a tutor I use a webcam via Skype or Zoom to communicate with my students and a virtual whiteboard to write and explain as I go along. As part of my teaching many of my students have given me positive feedback of how homework and lectures aid and reinforce their learning outside tuition classes.
I usually correct the homework and highlight the corrections before starting a new subject material to ensure my students feel confident that they have mastered a topic before moving ahead. I also make PowerPoint lecture slides and handouts for my students which I am always more than happy to email. After covering the syllabus content, I usually leave ample time to discuss past exam paper questions and how to answer them.
The core principle of my lessons is to first and foremost lay a foundation for the subject material for my students and then to build up the complexity. I highly encourage understanding scientific principles rather than rote memorisation to my students.
I believe learning should be tailored to every students’ individual needs and requirements and they should enjoy the learning material.

I have a great deal of experience as a tutor. I have been working at one of the UK's leading Grammar Schools for the past four years. I tutor maths GCSE and A level online. I have also conducted numerous online webinars/ webclasses and drop-in sessions for students across the country for A Level maths. I love to make maths engaging. My instagram and YouTube accounts (Mark-a-minute maths) has had a wide following from students and I consistently post short 1 minute videos for students to get snappy, bitesize reviews of topics and model answers to exam questions.

My name is Kat, I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London and MSc at the London School of Economics. I have a wide range of hobbies which include music and art. My indulgence in my hobbies, however, did not prevent me from distinguishing myself academically. I want my students to understand and learn in an efficient albeit enjoyable www.*** , Chemistry, MathsI enjoy teaching and have been a tutor for 7+ years. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I care about students, and I wish that they could learn to love Science and Maths as I do. To achieve the high goals I set for my students, I require the cooperation of the student and a change in attitude. I believe that everyone is capable of getting an A*/9 in any subject, as long as they are dedicated to achieving that www.*** ;I am very experienced in boosting exam grades and there are numerous success www.*** ;
Every student is different, as such, I tailor my teaching methods to each individual student. I put emphasis on encouraging students, cultivating their natural interest and understanding of the subjects they chose to take. I have found this approach to be more effective in building confidence in students, motivating them, and in realizing their full potential - all of which are key to exam success.

I am an experienced mathematics educator, and I am passionate about instilling an understanding of mathematics in all my students. The belief that every student can surpass their perceived potential has always been a backbone of my teaching practice. I am aware that the same approach doesn’t work for every student, so I develop diverse strategies to maximise learning for all students. I look forward to sharing my joy for mathematics with all my students, whether it be in class or during tutoring sessions.

I possess a joint honours Maths degree, a masters in maths degree and I am a fully qualified teacher working in a school of London as Head of Maths Department. I have been tutoring since September 2008. I have also worked as an examiner to get a better understanding of how marks are achieved. Students of secondary schools and other higher education institutions managed to achieve their highest potential after several tutoring hours with me. People who trusted me never regretted it as at the end of the day they found themselves successful. The key of my tutoring is that I effectively lower the difficulty of maths as I acquire various methods/ tricks that make it not as difficult as it may seem.

As a current third year Physics with Theoretical Physics student at King's College London, I have an unrivalled experience in both Physics and Mathematics that I can share with you. I have received awards from my university for achieving the highest first year laboratory results and have achieved a First in both my first and second year results. Furthermore, I achieved 5 A*s at GCSE and 3 As at A-levels, and I can help you achieve the same.
I have had several years of teaching experience in a few different areas. I am currently working at a tutoring centre where I help students develop their skills in a large array of subjects. I have also had professional tutoring experience with MyTutor where I have tutored students for A-Level and GCSE Maths and Physics for over a year, helping students to achieve the grades they require. With MyTutor I provided support to students over a video call, helping them with homework problems and achieving the grades they wanted.
I used to be member of my school's academic mentor team and eventually helped to run and organise the academic mentors. Our role was to provide support to younger students studying for their GCSEs. I would meet up with one or two younger students over lunchtimes and provide support and tuition in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I partook in the academic mentor team for two years.
Further to this, I was a member of my school's Combined Cadet Forces where I was trained in how to prepare and deliver lessons to younger cadets and was later given the responsibility of training them. My time leading cadets in the CCF taught me how to effectively deliver information to people and the importance of suiting my teaching style to different people. I have also given support to some of my friends with EFL tasks and would often try and explain the mistakes that they may have made. This helped me to learn how to communicate ideas in an effective manner to people who are not entirely fluent in English.

I completed my PGCE in Mathematics at Goldsmiths University and began working at the award-winning Maths department in The Totteridge Academy. I have experience working with a wide range of students this allows me to provide all students with the scaffolds needed to access GCSE content, including those with SEN needs. My mentoring background makes me uniquely qualified to work with students who lack motivation and require creative ways of engaging with the Maths curriculum. Building confidence through personalised activities and low stakes quizzes are how I have helped many students reach their full potential. I currently support both KS3 and KS4 students, giving me an in-depth understanding of the curriculum and making me extremely familiar with all the leading exam boards.

John obtained a First Class Honours degree in Physics and Philosophy from Durham, before a PhD in Physics and Applied Mathematics at Leeds. He now works as a research scientist in London, following similar experience in Washington, DC.
With wide experience in communicating and teaching, John has established a personable and adaptable approach. He is able to explain concepts from a number of angles, and enjoys helping students find their individual way in to a subject. His goal is to give students the confidence that they really ‘get’ the topic at hand, not just to reinforce rote learning. This approach has been successful both in general revision, helping to solidify ideas, and in targeted exam preparation, helping to unlock specific barriers to understanding.

We guarantee small classes – no bigger than 16 children in the main school and nine per class in Reception. We believe that this is integral to children establishing strong relationships with their teacher, getting the support they need, developing a strong work ethic and both maximising and achieving their potential.
Classes are made up of children from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities, but the one thing they have in common is motivation. We do not compare children with one another; we challenge them against their own goals and next steps. This allows children to feel safe, be creative and be curious instead of managing anxiety about ‘not keeping up’. Happy, confident students are available to learn – they develop a rich and positive sense of who they are and can be.
Each class has a name:
Sprites (Reception) Pegasus (Year 1) Dragons (Year 2) Unicorns (Year 3) Griffins (Year 4) Minotaurs (Year 5) Centaurs (Year 6) Chalkers (Years 7-9)

My degree in Mathematics and Statistics indicates an appropriate level of subject proficiency, which has been consolidated and extended throughout my teaching career. My experience demonstrates that I have the expertise and drive to deliver a robust Mathematics curriculum up to A-Level. Specifically, I can analyse statistical information and decide what action to take; meet deadlines and handle several projects at once; deal tactfully with children of differing backgrounds; and persuade and motivate staff to play their full part in team activities. I have gained these skills from the analytical nature of my degree, together with the organising and team work which has been important part of my work experience as Head of (and previously teacher of) Mathematics. My commercial experience, detailed in my application form, is also cogent to my ability to organise, audit and improve business models.
My experience as Director of Learning for Mathematics involved managing a team of eight staff, chairing regular departmental meetings, providing leadership and overseeing ongoing professional development. My role also involved creating new policies and procedures for the Mathematics Department. As a Tutor, I provided training for Newly Qualified Teachers, helping them to plan lessons and offering them strategies for effective classroom management.
As the Gifted and Talented (G&T) Coordinator, my duties included identification of the Gifted and Talented students by looking at KS 2, 3 & 4 data and registering them with the Association of Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY). I represented Dunraven School at the Gifted & Talented Lambeth Borough meetings for two years.
I have been trained to teach Mathematics up to ‘A’ Level and have successfully taught the full ability range. My use of differentiated materials in the classroom has aided my teaching in developing the students’ knowledge and grasp of mathematical concepts. I encourage the use of Information Technology whenever the curriculum lends itself to the effective use of computers. I have used software packages such as SuccessMaker and Headstart to improve students’ numeracy and literacy skills. Through the use of displays and cross curricular activities I have promoted and developed an awareness of Multicultural Mathematics. I speak fluent Urdu, Hindi and French which has proved to be a real asset to students who are comfortable with these languages, whilst retaining English as the prime medium of instruction and understanding.
My experience at Key Stage 3 has included the implementation of a number of exercises designed to support the learning of mathematical concepts in Using & Applying Mathematics, Number and Algebra, Shape and Space and Data Handling. At KS4 & KS5, I consistently organise extensive revision classes during the Easter holidays and half-term breaks to help students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics. I introduced the early GCSE Maths entry at Dunraven for the very able and facilitated stretching the most able students further by doing an extra GCSE in Statistics and Additional Maths. This has proved to be very successful, making the Maths Department one of the strongest at Dunraven.
My contribution to wider school activities include: the role of Form Tutor, organising assemblies, educational visits and Activity Week events, which included making a short film with the students which was subsequently broadcast on Zee television. Acting as an Ed-Excel GCSE Examiner for the past five years has also been very beneficial to both students and the department. I also acted as an Examiner for the GCSE Urdu & Hindi Oral examinations. My work has been recognised and covered by a number of specialist teaching magazines as well as the BBC. Specifically, such product has covered my classroom practice, encouraging undergraduates to join the teaching profession.
I am currently teaching Mathematics up to A Level standard at one of the top independent schools in London.
