I have taught maths for over 25 years mostly as Head of Department
Maths and physics lessons in London, UK.
I have a total of 4 years of tutoring experience, with both tutoring agencies and in private tuition. I have taught GCSE and A level students across a variety of exam boards, namely Edexcel, AQA, OCR and JWEC. My students have gone to excel in their chosen subjects with significantly improved results.
As a tutor I use a webcam via Skype or Zoom to communicate with my students and a virtual whiteboard to write and explain as I go along. As part of my teaching many of my students have given me positive feedback of how homework and lectures aid and reinforce their learning outside tuition classes.
I usually correct the homework and highlight the corrections before starting a new subject material to ensure my students feel confident that they have mastered a topic before moving ahead. I also make PowerPoint lecture slides and handouts for my students which I am always more than happy to email. After covering the syllabus content, I usually leave ample time to discuss past exam paper questions and how to answer them.
The core principle of my lessons is to first and foremost lay a foundation for the subject material for my students and then to build up the complexity. I highly encourage understanding scientific principles rather than rote memorisation to my students.
I believe learning should be tailored to every students’ individual needs and requirements and they should enjoy the learning material.
I have a great deal of experience as a tutor. I have been working at one of the UK's leading Grammar Schools for the past four years. I tutor maths GCSE and A level online. I have also conducted numerous online webinars/ webclasses and drop-in sessions for students across the country for A Level maths. I love to make maths engaging. My instagram and YouTube accounts (Mark-a-minute maths) has had a wide following from students and I consistently post short 1 minute videos for students to get snappy, bitesize reviews of topics and model answers to exam questions.

Hello, I am Yushi Zhang. You can call me M.. I have three higher education degrees in chemistry, and the recent one was a science master got from Queen’s University Belfast in 2020, studying in material chemistry, and I achieved a 2:1 master’s degree.
With more than 9 years of experience, I gradually grow into a senior secondary and undergraduate maths&science teacher, especially in chemistry, and I am adept at stimulating students' interest in science and improving the grades. Moreover, while my on-the-job experience has afforded me a well-rounded skill set including first-rate critical and analytical thinking skills I excel at:
Identify and activate student strengths- inspiring students to believe” I can do this.”
Build on a solid foundation of knowledge- the key to achieving a high-level grade
Adjust teaching methods according to different students- targeted teaching
Patience is a valuable asset- explaining key points and difficulties, again and again,
Analyze the psychological changes of students- the most overlooked point
Maintain active and effective communication- keep high-efficient teaching
Give feedback on time and assess growth-help students feel confident.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you can choose my courses and I will return a satisfactory result!

A former full time fully qualified secondary school teacher with extensive experience teaching privately, at top London secondary schools and at university level lasting over 10 years. In Our Centre based Tutoring, we make sure our students and parents feel safe and secure with having a secure centre place. All our staff are DBS checked and we take extra care about each ones safety and individual educational needs.
At the centre, we have no more than 10 students at a time and to give each student personal attention we have three teachers. So at any given time no student is left unattended if they come up with any questions and doubts.
- We match tutors with students based on location, subject and personality.
- In order to do so, we will find out as much information about the student as possible and consequently brief the selected tutor beforehand.
- Once the most suitable tutor has been selected, they will be given the student’s contact details to arrange the first class.
- The student (or student’s parent) will then be asked to sign a contract, outlining the terms and conditions.

A trusted community of teachers and mentors that inspire kids of all ages to find the wonder in the world's diverse subject areas, working together to enhance learning and development, both in school and beyond classroom doors.
Founded on a unique philosophy towards children's learning and development, we are a community of tutors and mentors who harness the true potential of our students and bring each of our subjects to life.
We believe that building a trusting relationship with the families we work with allows us to foster a genuine passion for the subjects we teach and a love of learning in our students. We have extensive experience teaching in some of the UK’s top schools and offer unparalleled insight into and each and every stage of our students’ development.
We believe that being taken under the wing of a truly inspirational figure can have untold beneficial effects in a young person’s life, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Being guided by someone who has achieved great things in their life provides a goal for children to aspire towards. At a time when they are so impressionable, the motivation, passion and enthusiasm which can be instilled by an inspirational teacher have long-lasting and fundamental benefits.
We work with a community of highly motivated professionals from a large variety of disciplines. The common factor is that they are all highly successful and are passionate about the subjects they teach. Instilling this passion in students is the reason that they got into teaching, and as such we value our tutors hugely. Connecting these tutors with families that will reap the benefits of their expertise and with students that will thrive working with them is our core focus, and is a truly rewarding experience for all of us at Pegasus.
