Our organisation was a long time in the making. We wanted to find the very best teachers who not only have the professional qualifications, skills and experience to lead a class, but to also possess that essential 'magic' that makes our students' time more enjoyable, easy-to-understand, and to ignite a passion for learning.
The training courses we decided to run are focused on bringing real benefit to our students' lives. That's why we carried out so much research into finding training courses that everyone can enjoy, and use in everyday life.
Our four pillars of strength
As part of our mission to help people, we wanted to develop a simple mantra - a kind of positioning statement for our team to remember and be driven by.
1. RESPECT - to always treat people with the utmost respect... never judging, assuming or finding reason to not give our students 100%.
2. TRUST - to always deliver on our promises, to never let anyone down or hinder their progress.
3. ACCOUNTABILITY - If we get something wrong, to 'own it', learn from it, correct it, and do better next time around.
4. PASSION - to make things fun, engaging, useful and to do everything in our power to see that our students reach their full potential, and achieve better, quicker results.
We believe that every student who chooses us is an individual in their own right. That's why we are more than happy to discuss your ambitions with you before booking your training with us.

We have a dedicated covid secure classroom. We have an extremely comprehensive equipment store to cover all the experiments for GCSE and A level Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). This enables the students to take part in experiments which enhances their learning.
Since the lockdown, our response was to transition, virtually overnight, our teaching online. The tutor’s hands became the student’s hands and the cameras their eyes, the microphone and speakers became their voice and ears. With the power of a broadcast switcher, the student did not have one view but many, depending on what was needed. In addition, we decided to live stream tutorials on YouTube going through GCSE and A level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, topic by topic, week by week utilising all our equipment for experiments. This was to develop a resource for all not just our own students.

One of our First Class Learning tutors will meet with you to discuss how we can help your child with Maths or English. They will then sit down with your child and complete an assessment to determine which path is most suitable for them. Once we have established your child’s needs, we will put together a bespoke course of action that will support and encourage your child’s learning.
If you feel happy with our plan and that we are the best option for you and your child, they will then be able to start attending regular classes at the centre. In these classes, they will complete a short piece of work which will be marked, returned and discussed with the tutor, who will give them a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.
The Academy is committed to providing excellent tuition that is affordable for everyone.

Currently a Maths Teacher in an Enfield Secondary School.
Over 3 years teaching in fully comprehensive school.
As someone with experience in tutoring and a skill for illustrating and presenting complex ideas in accessible and easy formats, I can ensure that anybody can succeed at the subjects they have chosen to study, regardless of their original level. I personally had to self study a lot of material for IGCSEs and AS Levels, but still managed to not only acquire a full spread of top grades in both, but attain marks nearing 100% in multiple www.*** ; I believe the key to this is understanding a subject to its core, rather than just learning things at a surface level. Not only does this lead to better exam perfomance, but it also means that what is learnt will be retained for longer. The ability to deep dive into subjects is a highly valuable skill that I will ensure all my students www.*** ;
I am a qualified teacher of Mathematics with wide experience teaching from years 5 to 13. I taught for five years at an all girls` secondary school in Bath before moving to an extremely high achieving boys`school close to my new home in Northwood.
I had spent the years prior teaching in mixed gender secondary schools in Bristol and Trowbridge as well as a middle school in Dorset.
I have seven years of experience helping young people achieve their goals in mathematics in a tutor capacity.
I have created a wealth of resources in recent years with the aim of diagnosing and curing misconceptions in topic specific areas within the curriculum for key stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, FSMQ and A-level. These have proven invaluable in preparing students for their state examinations.
I currently work in a busy successful secondary school as a Maths teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience. I have taught KS3, KS4 and up to date with the new GCSE curriculum.

As a current undergraduate at Queen Mary University of London, I specialise in tutoring Mathematics at various levels ranging from KS1 to A-level (including 11+ exams),which extended over a year of experience in tutoring, mostly involving GCSE mathematics and providing help sessions in A-Level Mathematics. During this period I helped assist students with varying abilities to gain knowledge in their respective targeted subjects and developed assessments for students to maintain steady academic progress. During the private tuition session I would tailor my lessons to the students’ needs by assessing them in areas of weakness and help preparing them for examination through supervised practice along with continuous feedback.
I am currently working towards a Mathematics BSc degree, and in the duration of my studies have garnered well over 100 plus hours of experience tutoring both primary and secondary school students. Most notably, I have also tutored students who are trying to get into grammar schools or university . Having sat these exams for Latimer and Henrietta Barnett before and passed, I am well versed in how best to prepare for 11+ exams and have an understanding in which concepts students tend to struggle with. Hence a benefit of choosing me as a tutor is that I know why students struggle with these specific areas. Such concepts and areas require a patient tutor to help explain topics to students; I have the capability to explain ideas in a clear and concise manner which is best suited to the student’s needs.
Mathematics is an abstract subject that is found in every matter known to man, it is the universal language used to communicate with pupils with a mathematical related background from all over the world. It’s this very notion that I eagerly want to demonstrate and help the students comprehend the importance of mathematics in this world as it expands your horizon to think outside the frame and betters your judgement. So for me to be able to give the opportunity to breakdown the topics into its very core will ultimately help them be able to solve clearly and concisely any mathematical problem with ease as they will approach it with logical reasoning and quantitative calculations. I am a strong believer in the saying ‘Practice makes Perfect’; especially in such a practical subject as Maths. Hence, work will be set at the end of every session to reinforce what they have learnt in the lesson. This extra work set will include everything they have learnt from the first lesson I have tutored them.
Ultimately, I understand the importance of achieving top grades at GCSEs and A-Levels as it will be a foundation for further higher studies. Having sat the exams and tutored several students on a regular basis, I am well revised on both the old specification and the new specification. I for one will be able to show the students the concept behind such complex topics within mathematics and provide them with a better understanding and a clearer insight into this ever-growing subject. They will not only successfully achieve their target grades or higher but be able to enhance their intellect and progress further with precision.

The Kumon Maths and English Study Programmes enable children of any age and ability to build key learning foundations. Our programmes will not only help your child to become a confident learner, they go one step further than traditional maths or English tuition by equipping them with the skills to learn for themselves. Self-learning is an important skill for children as they journey through education and beyond, building independence and ability to progress without reliance on a teacher. Our study programmes provide an economical way to equip your child with the skills that they need to build a bright future.
After an initial assessment, your child will follow an individualised study programme with work set at just the right level. They complete daily worksheets building skills and fluency in small manageable steps, as well as attending tuition groups at their local study centre up to twice a week. An Instructor will monitor and guide your child’s learning development to ensure work remains challenging. Kumon study does not follow any curriculum and work is set regardless of age, enabling children to revisit topics or advance far beyond school material without restriction.

Hello. I'm Laurence, my original degree (2004) was in maths from St. Andrews University.
I started my PGCE in 2016 with University of Bedfordshire and in 2016 into 2017 I taught as part of my PGCE year at schools in Biggleswade (lower and upper schools, teaching KS3, GCSE and A-level). After completing my PGCE I then taught maths (GCSE and A-level) at an international school in Cambridge. In 2018 however, I decided that being a full time teacher was not for me, and left teaching for my current role.
I currently work as a performance analyst so I do still get to use a little maths and statistics, which is good for me as I love maths, have done since I was the school pupil. That is what I hope to share with students I tutor; that maths is nothing to fear. I think some students talk themselves into a fear of maths which can become a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy: if you tell yourself often enough that you can't do something then you will eventually believe it! But I don't think there is anything in GCSE maths that any student can't do if they think about the topic calmly and have it explained in a way they understand. So that is what we shall do!

I am a teacher with 35 years experience. For the past 19 years I have worked for myself, mainly doing one-one tuition.
I completed my PGCE in Mathematics at Goldsmiths University and began working at the award-winning Maths department in The Totteridge Academy. I have experience working with a wide range of students this allows me to provide all students with the scaffolds needed to access GCSE content, including those with SEN needs. My mentoring background makes me uniquely qualified to work with students who lack motivation and require creative ways of engaging with the Maths curriculum. Building confidence through personalised activities and low stakes quizzes are how I have helped many students reach their full potential. I currently support both KS3 and KS4 students, giving me an in-depth understanding of the curriculum and making me extremely familiar with all the leading exam boards.
