Philip M R. Ltd is a small company in Hemel Hempstead which, amongst other operations, provides 1 to1 private teaching to local children from Key Stage 2 upwards in STEM subjects. The company’s teaching philosophy, built up over 40 years of teaching experience, is based upon the mantra tell me I forget, show me and I will remember, but let me do and I will understand.
We have a dedicated covid secure classroom. We have an extremely comprehensive equipment store to cover all the experiments for GCSE and A level Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). This enables the students to take part in experiments which enhances their learning.
Since the lockdown, our response was to transition, virtually overnight, our teaching online. The tutor’s hands became the student’s hands and the cameras their eyes, the microphone and speakers became their voice and ears. With the power of a broadcast switcher, the student did not have one view but many, depending on what was needed. In addition, we decided to live stream tutorials on YouTube going through GCSE and A level Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, topic by topic, week by week utilising all our equipment for experiments. This was to develop a resource for all not just our own students.

I am an experienced teacher and tutor with over 35 years experience. I have worked in a variety of schools and previously been Head of Biology and Head of Science. I am an experienced tutor of OCR, AQA and Edexcel Biology A level courses. I also offer tutoring for GCSE Science (Trilogy) and GCSE Chemistry. I have an approachable, patient and friendly attitude and believe students should feel comfortable asking as many questions as they feel necessary until they fully understand a concept. Individual tuition improves a student`s confidence in the subject and this not only helps their performance in exams but enables them to get the best out of their studies at school.
I will work with students initially to identify areas of weakness, on which we can focus. As the students level of confidence improves, their ability to answer questions and challenge the subject matter also increases. This improves their overall confidence and also helps them with progress in other subject areas at school. I will prepare you specifically for your exam using past papers from your exam board. I can help you with exam technique giving you both the knowledge and exam confidence to achieve the top of your potential.
I have a lot of reviews from recent students who all wrote glowing reviews and rated me as 5/5.
I tutor at my home in Panshanger, Welwyn Garden City where I have all my resources. I am sorry but I do not visit students homes.

Hi there,
I have registered to become a tutor because of my passion for the Sciences and Maths. I want to inspire and motivate other students studying these difficult subjects.
I'm a second year student at Imperial College London, reading Medical Biosciences. I took my A-levels last year and obtained AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I also did an EPQ where my reserach topic was centered around Alzheimer's and Dementia and obtained an A. At GCSE, I obtained 2 8s (Maths and English Literature), 5A*s (Biology, Chemisty, Latin, Geography and RS), a 7 (English Language) and 3As (Further Maths, Physics and German).
During my Sixth Form years I acted as a mentor to GCSE Maths students - most got As after taking the exam. Having gone through these exams recently, I understand the keys to sucessful revsion and how to get the grades you want. It's a process I followed for both GCSE and A-level. I would love to support you in two ways- to consoldiate your learning and to catch up with any missed course material due to the distrubtion of Covid-19 pandemic.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Lara www.***

First lesson is FREE (No obligation). Maths and Science tutoring by a UK QUALIFIED TEACHER and A GCSE EXAMINER for a leading exam board from a school in Harrow.
(GCSE, KS3 and Year 6 SATS Maths)
Excellent results were produced last year (100% pass rate, 81. 8 % level 8 or 9). Please contact to reserve a place for your child to assist his/her learning at school. It could be exam preparation, grasping basics or simply extending your child to his/her maximum ability. (A child who is capable of getting an A/A* (or level 9) achieving a B (Level 6-7 or so) is still under-performance). Each lesson is 1 hour and 30 minutes. We use diagnostic tests (FREE ASSESSMENT) to identify weak areas of students and we fix it by addressing the cause of the problem. Lessons are conducted in small groups in Pinner with INDIVIDUAL LESSON PLANS and individual intervention to maximize the impact of tutoring.
All lessons of MATHSCI EDUCATION CENTRE are conducted at Nower Hill High www.*** ; Number of students from local schools such as Nower Hill, Watford boys and Girls, John Lyon, Merchant Taylers, QE boys, Bushey meads, Long field and Pinner High School are already using this great opportunity to excel in their education. Please contact to arrange your FREE ASSESSMENT followed by a report on weaknesses and strengths of your child without any obligation. Thank you, Kind regards, Dushan

Hello!
It must be just over 20 years ago that I began what was to be an epic adventure into tutoring. It all started when a neighbour who i was in a band with, asked me to teach his daughter the piano. I had been toying with the idea of teaching but this was an opportune time to let myself in gently. As it happened, it wasnt my finest hour as it was at the very beginning of a long learning curve, made all the more difficult because she had me down as dad's mate 'uncle Dave the keyboard player' not tutor Mr www.***
But undeterred I carried on and began tutoring Maths to some GCSE students heading towards their GCSEs. All were borderline and that's in the days when exams really were about pass or fail! I worked hard at it but also being honest about my lack of experience. To my delight, all the students came away with far higher grades than they had been predicted achieving in many cases B's.
Around that time I attended a career advice interview - still unsure whether i should be straying from electronics jobs. To my surprise the lady picked up the fact i'd recently started tutoring and asked me to tutor for a tutor college she'd set up.
I taught Maths and English at Kidklubb off and on for ten years until the lady closed the school to bring up her young www.*** ;
I've taught groups, adults, special needs students but the mainstay of course has been private 1-2-1 www.*** ;
Now the advent of the virus has moved lessons online - something which i had been looking to do but lockdown has brought a renewed impetus. So now marks another chapter in my tutoring with lessons online using zoom or Google hangouts.
In my time I have achieved excellent results with students and to date I've not had one fail though of course with the new grading system that's www.*** ;
No lesson is quite the same. Every student is unique and at their own stage. That's why I dont make rules that don't exist: I tailor each lesson to suit the particular needs of the student in question. With pupils at a more advanced stage, the student may have a clear idea of what they want to get out of the lesson. Lessons can be student-driven in which case they point me to topic areas they want to cover. It may be a methodical revision over the topics in chronoligical order or targeting a topic area. It may be a matter of going over the subject matter or just doing worked www.*** ;
I usually set homework but it is the student's time and i endeavour to work around their specific requirements and circumstances.
