Hello! I’m Gokulavani, a passionate and dedicated tutor with a strong academic background in Agriculture, Biology, and Environmental Science. I hold a First-Class BSc in Agriculture, awarded with a Gold Medal, and a Distinction in my MSc in Agriculture and Development from the University of Reading.
With hands-on experience as a Research Fellow in the UK, I bring deep practical knowledge of real-world challenges in plant science, sustainability, and food systems into my lessons. I’ve worked on cutting-edge research in climate-resilient crops, crop physiology, and agricultural production—experience that allows me to make science come alive for my students.
My goal is to share not just knowledge, but curiosity, clarity, and confidence. I teach GCSE and A-Level Biology and Environmental Science with a calm, supportive, and structured approach that helps students thrive. Whether you're aiming for top grades or building your foundation, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Over the past four years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to teach English in China (Jiaxing), both online and in the classroom. Starting in a traditional classroom, I built strong connections with my students and refined my teaching techniques. Moving to online teaching expanded my reach and allowed me to embrace new educational technologies, making learning more accessible and engaging.
In China, I taught a diverse group of students, from young children to adults, each with their own unique needs and goals. This experience taught me to be adaptable and creative in my teaching methods, ensuring that every lesson was interactive and enjoyable. Watching my students grow and develop their English skills has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Now that I’m in the UK, I’m excited to continue this journey and meet new students. I’m eager to bring my international experience and passion for teaching to learners here, helping them achieve their language goals and fostering a love for English.
Initially i spent many years working in the Agricultural, and Horticultural sector, while i finished my agricultural degree. I worked with both animals, and arable systems, as well as glass houses, and setting up plant trials.
After completing my PGCE certificate in Land based (FE) studies, i spent the last 14 years teaching in mainly land based colleges, teaching on a number of level 1, 2 and 3 agriculture/ horticulture and animal care courses. Both planning classroom based hteory lessons, looking at Biology, and production systems. as well as ecology and nutrition.
I also planned outdoor sessions, that included lambing. Sheep practical classes. planting classes, and plant ID. Animal care and Structure maintenance, and some tractor driving and maintenance.
More recently since i have been travelling overseas. I have been teaching one to one english classes, including conversation, and grammar, to spanish speaking students.
