I have been in my current day-time job teaching in a sixth form college since 1989. I tutor English Language, English Literature, Drama, Languages, Dance, Performing Arts and Maths. I attended Tiffin Girls' Grammar when I was young. I prepare tutees for 11+ and entrance exams. I am a senior examiner, a moderator and a Lead Verifier. I have co-authored 5 text books.

My degree in Mathematics and Statistics indicates an appropriate level of subject proficiency, which has been consolidated and extended throughout my teaching career. My experience demonstrates that I have the expertise and drive to deliver a robust Mathematics curriculum up to A-Level. Specifically, I can analyse statistical information and decide what action to take; meet deadlines and handle several projects at once; deal tactfully with children of differing backgrounds; and persuade and motivate staff to play their full part in team activities. I have gained these skills from the analytical nature of my degree, together with the organising and team work which has been important part of my work experience as Head of (and previously teacher of) Mathematics. My commercial experience, detailed in my application form, is also cogent to my ability to organise, audit and improve business models.
My experience as Director of Learning for Mathematics involved managing a team of eight staff, chairing regular departmental meetings, providing leadership and overseeing ongoing professional development. My role also involved creating new policies and procedures for the Mathematics Department. As a Tutor, I provided training for Newly Qualified Teachers, helping them to plan lessons and offering them strategies for effective classroom management.
As the Gifted and Talented (G&T) Coordinator, my duties included identification of the Gifted and Talented students by looking at KS 2, 3 & 4 data and registering them with the Association of Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY). I represented Dunraven School at the Gifted & Talented Lambeth Borough meetings for two years.
I have been trained to teach Mathematics up to ‘A’ Level and have successfully taught the full ability range. My use of differentiated materials in the classroom has aided my teaching in developing the students’ knowledge and grasp of mathematical concepts. I encourage the use of Information Technology whenever the curriculum lends itself to the effective use of computers. I have used software packages such as SuccessMaker and Headstart to improve students’ numeracy and literacy skills. Through the use of displays and cross curricular activities I have promoted and developed an awareness of Multicultural Mathematics. I speak fluent Urdu, Hindi and French which has proved to be a real asset to students who are comfortable with these languages, whilst retaining English as the prime medium of instruction and understanding.
My experience at Key Stage 3 has included the implementation of a number of exercises designed to support the learning of mathematical concepts in Using & Applying Mathematics, Number and Algebra, Shape and Space and Data Handling. At KS4 & KS5, I consistently organise extensive revision classes during the Easter holidays and half-term breaks to help students to achieve their full potential in Mathematics. I introduced the early GCSE Maths entry at Dunraven for the very able and facilitated stretching the most able students further by doing an extra GCSE in Statistics and Additional Maths. This has proved to be very successful, making the Maths Department one of the strongest at Dunraven.
My contribution to wider school activities include: the role of Form Tutor, organising assemblies, educational visits and Activity Week events, which included making a short film with the students which was subsequently broadcast on Zee television. Acting as an Ed-Excel GCSE Examiner for the past five years has also been very beneficial to both students and the department. I also acted as an Examiner for the GCSE Urdu & Hindi Oral examinations. My work has been recognised and covered by a number of specialist teaching magazines as well as the BBC. Specifically, such product has covered my classroom practice, encouraging undergraduates to join the teaching profession.
I am currently teaching Mathematics up to A Level standard at one of the top independent schools in London.

I speak fluent German and excellent French. I am happy to conduct lessons in French or German. I welcome young and adult learners.

I am a professional freelancer with a Masters degree in Classical Music and Performance and I am actively seeking a new challenge.
I am a Master's graduate and classically trained singer who is an experienced performer within theatre and classical music. I currently work as a freelance educator with a rounded expertise in many areas of employment, predominantly as a teacher of the Performing Arts. I have worked as a teacher of Drama, Voice and Communications at a well known private school and as a private Performing Arts coach for multiple schools and companies. I operate predominantly as a self-employed person within businesses and schools and I am therefore responsible for all of my own administration and organisation as well as liaising with these various institutions.
I also hold Alevels in both French and German and speak both of these languages to a fairly advanced level.
One of my most rewarding roles was working with NCS with The Challenge as both a Performing Arts Tutor and Public Speaking Coach. In the first role, I was able to teach performing arts and devising work to GCSE leavers in areas of London, and I enabled them to use their newfound skills to liaise and work with local charities creating new devised performances every week, which would then lead to a collaborative project to enable them to give back to their local community.

After graduating from a Research Master's Degree in English in France, I decided to come back to England and started a new carrier as a French Assistant at Westminster School, London. I have always loved teaching languages to my pupils and teaching French is definitely what I see myself doing for the next upcoming years. As I am now employed part-time at the school, I decided it would be a good opportunity to make the most of my free time and become a tutor.
I have been doing tuition for two years now and I think my three years as a French assistant helped me understand the kind of work I need to produce and ask of my pupils. Back in France, I was a school monitor in a high school for three years. Those three years were the most wonderful experience of my life. I was mainly in charge of the boarding school, and I think my relationships with the pupils there were excellent. They saw me as a mentor, a friend, but also someone they could come to if they needed help with homework. I spent many hours helping them to achieve their projects and all of them got good grades at the end of their "Terminales" (Y13 equivalent).
I offer tuition to students preparing for their exams in French (GSCE/A-Level/Pre-U) but I also tutored adults who just wanted to chat in French and/or improve their skills for their job. Despite the current situation, I am able to offer tutoring sessions via Facetime, Skype and Zoom.

Pegasus Tutors School, Learning Centre

A trusted community of teachers and mentors that inspire kids of all ages to find the wonder in the world's diverse subject areas, working together to enhance learning and development, both in school and beyond classroom doors.
Founded on a unique philosophy towards children's learning and development, we are a community of tutors and mentors who harness the true potential of our students and bring each of our subjects to life.
We believe that building a trusting relationship with the families we work with allows us to foster a genuine passion for the subjects we teach and a love of learning in our students. We have extensive experience teaching in some of the UK’s top schools and offer unparalleled insight into and each and every stage of our students’ development.
We believe that being taken under the wing of a truly inspirational figure can have untold beneficial effects in a young person’s life, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Being guided by someone who has achieved great things in their life provides a goal for children to aspire towards. At a time when they are so impressionable, the motivation, passion and enthusiasm which can be instilled by an inspirational teacher have long-lasting and fundamental benefits.
We work with a community of highly motivated professionals from a large variety of disciplines. The common factor is that they are all highly successful and are passionate about the subjects they teach. Instilling this passion in students is the reason that they got into teaching, and as such we value our tutors hugely. Connecting these tutors with families that will reap the benefits of their expertise and with students that will thrive working with them is our core focus, and is a truly rewarding experience for all of us at Pegasus.
