I have gained QTS grade 1 outstanding in Secondary English. I am an English Language & Linguistics graduate with a passion for helping young people succeed academically and exceeding their goals.
My experience within an educational setting is multifaceted having worked with students across a broad spectrum of ages and abilities both 1-1 and in large groups.
I am familiar with all popular exam boards at GCSE level including AQA, Edexcel and Cambridge iGCSE. I have an in-depth knowledge of the new 9-1 GCSE both language and literature papers. Last year, 90% of my class achieved a grade 7 or above in English Literature (50% achieved a grade 8 or above) and 50% in English Language. My personal progress 8 score was 1. 62 with national average being 0. This demonstrates the outstanding progress made by pupils in my class.
I understand how much pressure students can feel to achieve across all subjects and I am confident in my ability to support students in a professional and friendly manner in helping them to achieve their full potential.

Specialising in English Literature to MA level, I've been a tutor on a flexible basis for a number of years. I pride myself in teaching students of all backgrounds and abilities and have seen excellent results at GCSE and A Level. Every individual is different in the way that they learn - I'm happy to challenge more academic students, but likewise I am passionate about my subject and can provide unique insight and enjoyment into any text.
Rates quoted are approximate and I'm willing to discuss these on a case by case basis.

I am a professional freelancer with a Masters degree in Classical Music and Performance and I am actively seeking a new challenge.
I am a Master's graduate and classically trained singer who is an experienced performer within theatre and classical music. I currently work as a freelance educator with a rounded expertise in many areas of employment, predominantly as a teacher of the Performing Arts. I have worked as a teacher of Drama, Voice and Communications at a well known private school and as a private Performing Arts coach for multiple schools and companies. I operate predominantly as a self-employed person within businesses and schools and I am therefore responsible for all of my own administration and organisation as well as liaising with these various institutions.
I also hold Alevels in both French and German and speak both of these languages to a fairly advanced level.
One of my most rewarding roles was working with NCS with The Challenge as both a Performing Arts Tutor and Public Speaking Coach. In the first role, I was able to teach performing arts and devising work to GCSE leavers in areas of London, and I enabled them to use their newfound skills to liaise and work with local charities creating new devised performances every week, which would then lead to a collaborative project to enable them to give back to their local community.

I have been professionally tutoring English for more than 4 years now, but my educational career started way before that. During my undergrad years, I prepared adult learners for their English language exams in Hungary. I enhanced their grammatical knowledge alongside their essay writing and oral communication skills. Teaching English as a foreign language is something entirely different than what English tutoring is in England, but it gave me confidence and a huge amount of experience.
In England, I have been working mainly with Year 8+ students. I am familiar with the two most popular GCSE exam boards in England, AQA and Edexcel, and thoroughly knowledgeable in all compulsory reading materials. I have a deep passion for literature and always try to encourage my students to read. I have a wide variety of texts that they can choose from if they want to further their studies or satisfy their interest. Additionally, I have compiled a varied, age-appropriate and engaging portfolio of resources over the years that I provide either in hard copy or in other digital formats during the lessons. My main aim is to help students achieve a high level of reading comprehension which then can provide the platform for furthering their writing skills.

Hi there,
Name's Jordan. I'm a university student with a passion for english and music, particularly the guitar, bass and drums. While I don't yet hold a degree, I've obtained distinctions in all of my music courses for A-level without fail, if it's passion and drive you want then I'm your www.*** ;
On the English side, as long as I know what's being taught I can teach it in an engaging way that'll hopefully make English less of a drag than many seem to think it is!
As for my teaching style, I'm 19 and therefore don't hold any sort of strict teaching guidelines within me, expect me to be pretty laid back and friendly during sessions. After all, I don't believe that any sort of passion for a subject can arise from being taught in a strict and rigid way. As it so happens I'm not really a traditionalist, so if it's guitar you're here for then expect a very "hands-on approach" to get you playing as fast as possible.
Oh, and my first sessions are free!
I'll probably use this to get an idea of the subjects i'm working with and add them to a list to make sure I'm confident on all of the material going forward. If you decide that you like my general mannerisms and character for some reason, then you can be rest assured that i'll have all the answers when it comes to the learning process!
One final thing; I welcome learners of any kind, any background and any skill level. If you want to just sit and chill out while we talk about the subject matter, then we can do that. If you want to do a Grade for your instrument, give me a second to find the piece you're learning and I'll help you learn, no matter what piece it www.*** ;
Alright, that's all from me. If you like the cut of my jib, then shoot me a message or something, i'll reply pretty quickly, usually no more than a few hours, provided I have the slot www.*** ;
Okay, hope to speak to "you" soon!
