Frank's Individual Cello Lessons I was born in Prague, into a family with a distinguished cultural background. I've been playing the cello since early childhood. Following my cello studies at the Prague Conservatoire, I completed his Master's degree at the Janacek Academy of Music (JAMU) in the Czech republic. I furthered my cello skills at the Toho Gakuen Academy in Japan and later under the guidance of legendary cellist Prof. Anna Shuttleworth (student of Pablo Casals) in the United Kingdom (Eton Cello Master Classes and the University of Leeds). I've won the 2nd prizes at the Anglo-Czech Competition in London (1999), the International String Competition London (2000) and the International String Competition Jihlava (2003). I've been awarded many scholarships and fellowships, including the Czech Music Foundation (CHF), the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Music Foundation OSA, the Socrates-Erasmus, and the Gideon Klein Foundation for the propagation of works written by Jewish Holocaust Composers. I chose to dedicate his life to the interpretation of cello compositions written by composers of the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, giving special consideration to compositions for solo cello. My favourites are cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, Max Reger and Benjamin Britten. I'm particularly involved in researching, studying and performing works by Czech (Antonin Dvorak, Leos Janacek, Bohuslav Martinu, Josef Suk and Irena Kosikova), Jewish & Terezin (Gideon Klein, Erwin Schulhoff, Zikmund Schul, Jaromir Weinberger, James Simon and David Popper) and contemporary composers (Conrad Beck, Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Benjamin Britten, Henri Dutilleux, Wolfgang Fortner, Alberto Ginastera, Cristobal Halffter, Hans Werner Henze, Heinz Holliger, Klaus Huber and Witold Lutoslawski), playing on a "George Kriwalski" cello made in 1904. As a soloist I've performed at many festivals in Algeria, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. I've been teaching cello for many years. I'm experienced at taking students at all levels, able to give master classes as well as support beginners. I'm giving cello master classes at the United Kingdom, France, Italy and remotely online via Zoom/Skype. Accepting new cello students now. All ages and abilities are welcome!

The german Sophie K. is one of the most promising cellists of her generation in Europe. Since 2014 she studied with Prof. Alexander Gebert and Prof. Xenia Jankovic in both – artistic and pedagogical studies at the University of Music Detmold, Germany. In 2017/18 she studied as an exchange student through the Erasmus program at the Royal College of Music Stockholm in the chamber music academy Edsberg with Jakob Koranyi , Mats Zetterqvist and Torleif Thedeen. She received her Bachelor degree in spring 2019 and started her master studies in September at the London “Guildhall School of Music and Drama” with Prof. Louise Hopkins. The University offered her the "Child memorial award", a financial award for her studies.
Born in 1995 near Augsburg (Germany) in a family of professional musicians, for Sophie K. music was always a part of her everyday life. After her first cello lessons at the age of five she had successfully won various competitions for Singers and Cellists, as the Germany-wide competition „Jugend Musiziert”. In 2013 she received first prizes in two categories - as a soloist and with her Piano quartet. Moreover her chamber music ensemble also won the „WDR 3 Klassikpreis” (“Prize of Classics”).
Before her studies she had lessons with Edgar Gredler, the Solo Cellist of the “Bayerischer Rundfunk” (the Bavarian broadcast orchestra in Munich) and Stephan Haack, the Solo Cellist of the renowned “Münchner Philharmoniker” (the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra). In her music and art focused High School, the “Pestalozzi Gymnasium”, she could benefit from its wide spectrum of musical education.
Sophie attended masterclasses with Professors like W. Boettcher, M. Carneiro, N. Eppinger, L. Fenyö, G. Gnocchi, N. Gutman, F. Helmerson, L. Hopkins, Z. Plesser, E. Rovner, G. Schiefen, T. Thedeen, W. Yang as well as Alban Gerhardt and Jan Vogler. Additional she visited festivals all around Europe as for example the Cello and Chamber Music Festivals at the Kronberg Academy. Furthermore she took advanced classes in baroque and contemporary music techniques with Dmitri Dichtiar and Prof. Andreas Lindenbaum and currently studies baroque cello as her second studies at the Guildhall with Joseph Crouch.
As a Soloist, Sophie gave concerts in all big concert venues in and around Munich. For example did she perform the Dvorak Cello concerto in November 2016 and Tchaikovskys “Rococo Variations” in 2019 in the “Herkulessaal” of the Residence of Munich, one of the biggest concert halls in Germany. She worked with conducters like C. Adt, S. Gauer and B. Koch and played with various student and semiprofessional orchestras as well as professional orchestras like the “Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker”. More solistic concerts are planned for the upcoming seasons with various orchestras in Munich ( www.*** ).
Sophies focus lies on chamber music and orchestra playing. Through numerous courses, projects and especially the education at the Edsberg chamber music academy with Prof. Mats Zetterqvist in Sweden, she was able to increase her repertoire and her ability in ensemble play. Her latest success was shown in receiving the first prize in the “Auryn Competition” with her ensemble. She joined the bavarian youth orchestra in 2009, the young “allgäuer” philharmonics in 2014 and played in Europa Musicale´s “womens orchestra” in 2018. Moreover did she play in the Edsberg as well as in the Australian Chamber Orchestra under the leadership of Richard Tognetti. Sophie played under conducters like Mariss Jansons, Daniel Blendulf, Han-Na Chang and Kristiina Poska.
Besides the traditional concert venues Sophie gave performances in elementary schools with a youth Orchestra, which was founded by her and Anna Handler in Munich, to make music accessible to children from elementary schools in near-illiterate social classes. The Orchestra also performed in various refugee camps. Furthermore she joined “Musethika” in spring 2018, a music project with concerts in hospitals and rest homes.
As a child of two music educators and authors of various instrument methods Sophie learned right from the start the basics of educational teaching. Already in High School she was assigned to teach younger students in groups, as well as in the music school of Munich. In the last five years she was employed at the music school “Musikschule Schieder - Schwalenberg”as the main teacher for all Cello students. Furthermore she could benefit from her science of education studies.
Sophie K. plays a Cello of “Giuseppe Pedrazzini” made in 1942, Milano, which is placed at her disposal from the “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” Hamburg.
Joanna is a polish cellist based in London. She has made her debut as a soloist performing Goltermann’s Cello Concerto in G-major at the age of 12 and has since appeared in concerts and festivals around the world as a concerto soloist, recitalist, chamber as well as orchestral musician. As a soloist she has performed in many renowned concert halls in Europe, Asia and United States as well as at important festivals. In 2017 she made her debut on BBC Radio 3. With a broad range of repertoire, her musical specialisms encompass works from the standard repertoire alongside lesser known pieces. In her recitals she often includes new works, many of them written especially for her and dedicated to her.
Joanna is a founding member of the award-winning Bukolika Piano Trio. She also collaborates with the guitarist Mario Kurtjak as well as with the Rowan Cello Quartet. In January 2020, she received her PhD. Her doctoral research as well as her CD album focused on music for the cello by Kaija Saariaho as an example of new qualities of sound and expression. Joanna received a scholarship from the Clumber Studio to study with Christoph Richter at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she graduated with Distinction in 2018.
Joanna is a highly demanded teacher, and holds a position as an assistant professor at the Academy of Music Krakow in addition to her ever-expanding class of private cello students across London. She is also involved in the promotion of music by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Estevez, whose music is well known in South America but still undiscovered by many audiences.

I am available to teach private students, with a flexible and holistic approach to Cello teaching. She teaches regularly at Magdalen Farm Strings and taught at Te Raukura Ki Kapiti performing arts centre in New Zealand.
I have a broad musical background and my specialities include: Classical music, music theory, learning/playing by ear, folk music, singing and playing and improvising.

We offer workshops and individual lessons, throughmainstream school holiday. I also play the flute in a Ceilidh band, play in the pit for panto, and have perfomed on various instruments (including vocals), for group concerts and individual performances.

At music school, I rworld music, folk music, tales and art. Storytelling through percussion. Many workshops are adapted to the seasons, outdoor spaces so that and be inspired. Music really holds no bounderies and can be found everywhere.
I am constantly learning a new instrument, and take It keeps me on track with how it feels to learn and coping wi nerves. Empathy and connections is very it is, to feel that your child is safe and happy with a mentor. This is why I encourge the take-up of a 'free' initial lesson, so that you feel happy any specialist qualifications in working with children and adults with additional needs, I do have lots of experience. I have many wondefullly, within these spectrums, whom have taught me so much. I am more than happy to re-invent the wheel and nurture what is important to each person. My eldest son is a child with autism, and he is an incredibly gifted musicican, who learns by ear and repitition (even though he can read music prefectly well) - as this is how feels his way though it, and this makes his very happy. He has also happily sat .
