Students are individuals with nuanced and complex educational needs. However, in some cases, even the best schools and universities can fail to maximise young people’s potential and prevent them from flourishing as they should. My approach as a tutor is to adapt to the needs of each student and to encourage personal growth, build self-belief and instil a long-lasting ability to learn independently.
I have lectured at Ruskin College Oxford in the social sciences for over 8 years, at the same time, I have tutored pupils from many of the best schools in the country, including Cheltenham College and Harrow. As well as this I have tutored gifted students from state schools and have been instrumental in gaining them Oxbridge places, as well as other leading UK’s institutions. As well one-to-one lessons, I have worked, over many years with my students to present their best possible selves in personal statements for university applications.
Teaching and learning is my life and when I take on a student I feel a deep responsibility toward them. I feel this is the key to the successes I have had.

I have excelled in my GCSE'S with grade 9's and passed all my subjects. Having studied for the past 6 years towards achieving an Islamic Theology degree, I have grasped the Arabic and Urdu Language. I am an excellent GCSE tutor; evident through the feedback given by my 25 GCSE students. I have previously mentored a year 11 student towards achieving high grades in maths. Chosen as an English Ambassador for A-level students has excelled my experience in teaching. I have completed a teaching enhancement wherein I acquired the teaching standards and efficient methods of teaching. Furthermore, I have completed several teaching courses under Open University. I would say I have relevant experience and knowledge to tutor.

I'm currently working as the Head of Humanities at The Bourne Academy and have been teaching Edexcel and WJEC History for over 10 years locally. I've also worked as an exam associate for Edexcel for 6 years marking summer exams. I feel that I understand the specifications for Medicine, Germany, Cold War and Elizabeth extremely well and would feel comfortable adapting my knowledge to meet the requirements for other exam board specifications. I've also been instructing on AQA Alevel Cold War and the British Empire for over 5 years and have also served as an examiner.
If a longer term tutoring relationship is established, students will get access to a bespoke Google Classroom with lessons and resources designed to promote maximum success and independence.
My passion for History drives much of who I am and consider myself a good communicator, highly motivational and proficient with one to one intervention. When I'm not teaching I love to run outdoors on hills, travel and spend time with my chocolate labrador.
