Hi!
My name is Alexandra and I am a 19 year old student currently studying a Theology and Religion degree at the University of Birmingham.
I would describe myself as a friendly and compassionate tutor, with a huge passion for Religious Studies. My hardworking nature and strong understanding for the subject propelled me to secure an A* at GCSE, and an A at AS-Level. I also have a DBS check that I am able to provide upon request.
My tutoring style is very personalised, as I take each tutee on a case by case basis, adapting and changing the topics and session focus to best suit your needs. I have skills and experience regarding both the subject content and exam/essay structure, so we can tailor our sessions to focus on your specific aims.
I completed my time at Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls with 10 GCSE's (2A*, 8A, B), and 3 A-Level's (A, B, C), as well as a grade A in the Extended Project Qualification ('To What Extent does the Bible and Further Gnostic Texts Portray an Accurate Representation of Jesus?') which further highlights my skills and enthusiasm for religious studies and essay/academic writing.
I am now in my second year of study at university, and have gained some fantastic experience during my education to further improve my degree level understanding and enthusiasm for the subject, such as writing blogs for Newman University to highlight use and interpretation/analysis of the Bible.
I hope that my warm personality, combined with my qualifications, tutoring style and passion for Religious Studies, show that I can be a suitable and reliable choice to help you achieve your goals and better your understanding within this subject area.
Hope to hear from you,
Alexandra

Charity
I have been part of the humanity welfare trust for 1. 5 years. Humanity welfare trust was established by a group of eminent community leaders in 2017. Humanity Welfare Trust (HWT) is a leading non-governmental organizations in countries such as Turkey, Pakistan and India including its own headquarters in (Cheadle) Manchester which is dedicated to carrying out humanitarian and development programs to fight poverty and people’s sufferings. It has also been working in partnership with vulnerable communities regardless of faith, caste, gender or political beliefs. I have helped people ranging from old grandparents in care homes and cancer patients to helping children in schools and nurseries through the charity. This charity provides opportunities to help those who are suffering from illnesses so they can acquire medical care and support. I visited India in 2016 and saw the dire condition the poor are living. Furthermore many students have started to go school in India however the children who do attend school receive an inadequate education because of poorly trained or underpaid teachers, overcrowded classrooms and a lack of basic tools such as textbooks, blackboard, even chalk, pencil and paper. I have personally helped donate sanitation kits as well as thousands of water bottles to improve the lives of these innocent people.
I strongly believe that education provides the key for a better future, so these underprivileged people can increase their skills, fulfil their potential and pursue their goals. But millions of children across India are denied even basic education. As a charity we aim to provide impoverished communities with access to education or training, which offers them a way out of poverty. By working directly with local communities, we ensure that our educational projects are relevant to their needs.
Attendance-
My attendance is 100%.This is all due to me being extremely dedicated to school and not missing a single minute of learning. I strongly believe that each second should be valued because there are many people in this world who don’t even get the chance to appreciate that. My behaviour is impeccable due to me listening to every instruction the teacher gives and acting on it instantly. The evidence is me winning the student of the year award recently. This shows that by acting on the schools motto of ‘working hard’ and ‘being nice’ can result in you being rewarded.
Work experience/community work
I have done my work experience at Cooks mill (Manchester’s largest catering supplies.)
During my work experience at Cooks mill, I was fortunate enough to have gained a first-hand experience and learned, many different sides of what goes into a project, the general process of how a project is initially planned, developed and completed; as well as how much work and detail goes into every stage.
Another valuable lesson I have learned during these 12 weeks, were the many different types of work an employer has to perform, which in turn, have provided me with more insight into the different types of roles and responsibilities that I could perform as a Doctor working for the NHS.
Reflecting back to my first day at Cooks mill, it was one of the most memorable days of my
time at work. They were very open and happy for me to contribute as much as I wanted to, and were open to any suggestions and ideas. This instantly made me feel comfortable and definitely made me feel as though I was part of a team.
In Cooks mill there are surveyors, project supervisors and managers all
working under one roof. There is a large range of people who have different strengths and
qualifications and they work together and organise their work in sync with one another so
that work flows and they are able to complete their work efficiently in order to present it to
the client on time. This in turn, manages to help the workplace become better as a team and
therefore creates a good atmosphere in the working environment. This has then showed me how I will need to communicate with my peers in my future job.
Overall, my work experience at being director at the cksmill was productive and I was very resilient in times of difficulty and I was very happy with the amount of things that I have learned and experienced in the 12 weeks of being a student employee with the company. (This is something I did on the weekends)
In the wider community I am involved in cleaning the mosque and providing support for the elderly people. This is something which I do every Sunday (early morning) which shows my passion in helping the environment be a better and cleaner place. Furthermore I do karate every Sunday to build my self-confidence and most importantly helped me with discipline. I have done karate for many years and it has helped me with my self-esteem. One on my hobbies is to also tutoring my sister every week to improve my teaching and oral skills.

I have an excellent record of helping students to improve their understanding (and grades) in Philosophy/RS and English, and of seeing students through to Grade 8 on Piano and Violin, with Distinction.
My A Levels (all A grades) are in: English Literature (I also received a commendation from the exam board for attaining one of the top five scores in the country); Music; RS; Media Studies; General Studies.
I am a life Fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute.

I passed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders in 2018.
My tutoring style is responsive to the needs of my student(s) but expect to be stretched and challenged!

Throughout sixth form, I thoroughly enjoyed being a tutor in Religious Studies, English Language and Literature to students aged 11-16. I believe that my top GCSE and A-Level grades enable me to provide current students with up to date and accurate information that will aid them in achieving the grades they deserve, and maintain their academic performance through lockdown! Additionally, my work as a lifeguard on a children's activity camp means I have been given training in communication with children with Autism and other pervasive developmental disorders. Please feel free to message me with any further questions you may have about my tutoring services!

I have ten years classroom experience with consistently good results. I am also an Expert Examiner with a national exam board which has given me the ability to 'read between the lines' to work out what the specifications are really asking for.
After an initial conversation about timescales and attainment, a diagnostic approach will be taken to determine if the learning need is functional (for example, written English skills) or technical (such as exam skills). From here a personalised curriculum will be designed with milestones indicated so all stakeholders can measure progress.
Sessions will typically last no more than 60 minutes with planned activities that build towards a task to be completed independently between sessions. Time will always be given within the sessions for the tutee to reflect on progress and any emerging learning needs.
