I have taught physics for almost twenty years at two top-rated schools, Tiffin Boys’ in Kingston and The Judd School in Tonbridge, where I was Head of Physics, and where I gained a Physics Teacher Award from the Institute of Physics.
I have a BSc Honours degree in Applied Physics, a Diploma in Industrial Studies, Qualified Teacher Status, Chartered London Teacher Status and am a Fellow of the College of Teachers. I have a DBS certificate from my role at Judd School.
The lessons I provide are carefully tailored to meet the objectives of the student – these maybe quite wide-ranging or focus on specific discrete topics. I can assess ability, areas of subject knowledge weakness, how each student best learns and how to build confidence and understanding. My lessons will include theory and explanation, contextual reference, worked examples and help with specific questions. Any notes produced by me during the lesson will be left with the student. The duration will be one hour, and if part of a series of lessons, will begin with a recap and appraisal of the previous lesson.
I can cover all aspects of GCSE and A-level Physics (including guidance for the A-level practical qualification) for AQA, EdExcel, IB and most other boards.
I would be just as delighted to raise a student from a level 3 grade to a 4, as I would an 8 to a 9; I am happy to assist at all abilities.
I am also qualified and experienced in providing teacher training for the Physics elements of KS3 and KS4 science teaching and can support and refresh Biology and Chemistry teachers with any areas of Physics they are not fully confident with (and help answers some of those tricky questions from students!).

Patient, personable and results-driven. Qualified teacher of Mathematics and Physics with experience of both State and Independent sectors. Founder of a London-based tutoring agency.
I have been in demand for more than 15 years, working with families in both the UK and overseas. Much of my work now involves educational consultancy, managing other tutors and teaching individual pupils as well as small groups at GCSE and A-Level.
100% success rate in helping tutees achieve their targets.
My main specialisms are in Maths and the Sciences, particularly Maths, Further Maths and Physics up to A-Level. Candidates have won places at Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities in the UK as well as Harvard, Stanford and Princeton in the US.
I am also highly experienced in 11+/13+ entrance exams, Common Entrance and Scholarship and have prepared pupils for Eton, Harrow, Westminster, St Paul’s, Wellington, Tonbridge, Sherborne, Sedbergh, Cheltenham Ladies College, Dulwich College, JAGS, Sevenoaks, Old Palace, Whitgift and Trinity.
Highly experienced in providing advice to clients on senior school/university choices including UCAS personal statements.
Here are some recent references:

Rumel is one of these rare breeds of teachers who manages to totally inspire his pupils to want to learn. He has the ability to get his pupils to think for themselves and to realise that learning can be fun. Rumel taught my daughter Maths and English to help her get into her chosen senior school. I can’t praise Rumel highly enough in terms of what he did for my daughter. He gave her the confidence to believe in herself with regards to how she would approach the various topics in her weaker suit, Maths. He also filled in the gaps in her knowledge. Rumel is without doubt the best investment I could have made to my daughter’s education. She flew through the entrance exams and was awarded an academic scholarship to her first choice, Sherborne School for Girls, which she started recently. I would happily recommend Rumel to anyone who is serious about their child’s education.
*
Since receiving tutoring from Rumel, Martin has attained A* grades in his Maths and three Sciences at IGCSE. In the past, Martin found it difficult to focus in class and had not always achieved his best. However, one-to-one tutoring with Rumel built his confidence up and together they worked through all the missing and weak areas. Rumel’s approach encouraged Martin to be engaged and interested in what he was learning. As a result of our son’s vast improvement, I have happily recommended Rumel to a number of my friends and will continue to do so.
*
Rumel was excellent and I would highly recommend him. My son learnt so much from Rumel. Not only was he a superb motivator and great as a Maths and Physics tutor, but he also provided valuable advice on university courses and exam technique.
*
Rumel is a patient and personable tutor who puts his students at ease. Asim was slightly apprehensive about being tutored, but within days was enjoying his lessons and felt a lot more confident with some challenging topics. After only six months, Asim passed his 10+ entrance exam to Whitgift. A brilliant tutor and excellent role model, I would strongly recommend him.
*
Rumel’s passion for Mathematics really comes through in his teaching and, without his help, I would have found the subject very hard indeed.
*
Highly professional and excellent results to match.
*
We just heard the brilliant news that Alexander got into Dulwich College. Can’t thank you enough!
*
Lacking confidence and getting low predicted grades, I found Rumel and he helped with all the problems I was having in Maths (specifically M1), and boosted my confidence in Physics. In all, I achieved 3 A’s and a place at the University of Durham. Rumel was very welcoming, easy to learn from and I would strongly recommend his services.
*
Rumel was a great help to my son. He was punctual, reliable and a wonderful role model for a teenager. Gregory also felt that he was excellent in providing support with past papers for Mathematics and Physics at A level.
*
I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Rumel is an exceptional tutor with expert knowledge in A-level exam technique. He is always very patient and understands the best ways to teach pupils.
*
Rumel has worked with both my son and daughter, enabling my son to pass his undergraduate calculus exams and ultimately his degree in Economics. My daughter struggled with Mathematics previously, but is now very confident having achieved an A* at GCSE and A grade at A level. Rumel is patient, well-spoken and engages with both my children at the right level. I highly recommend him.
*
Rumel tutored Maths to both my sons who achieved A* grades at both GCSE and A-Level as a result of some inspired teaching. An exceptionally talented young man.

I've been a teacher and tutor for over 30 years and feel I'm just about getting the hang of it. In addition to teaching content, I focus particularly on getting my students to think more deeply about how and why they study, helping them learn better how to learn, That really is the fun of teaching. Essentially, I try to provide the kind of education and support I would want for my own children. Not that I actually do provide that for my own children, of course; I’ll be looking for some other sucker to tutor those little monkeys. I work in the North Kent area (principally in and around Gravesend and Medway) and specialise in maths and physics, but also run sessions on essay writing (which concentrate on improving grammar, punctuation and structure). Most of my students are studying A-level or IB, but I also run GCSE and 11+ sessions. Although offering individual tuition from time to time, I mainly run small groups, classes and crammers, which provide a better education at far lower cost.
In addition to offering personal tuition, I also produce free video tutorials for those unable to afford help (or for whom a trip to the bucolic paradise of North Kent is sufficiently unfeasible or unpalatable). The library is currently small but will doubtless grow with my children (who are the reason I currently have so little time to make more – either videos and children). In terms of qualifications, I hung around Cambridge till they gave me a couple of degrees to go away, then repeated the trick at Oxford a few years later. I've therefore acquired a bachelors in physics, masters in history/philosophy and theology, and a doctorate in theology. Which displays either commendably diverse interests or an inability to stick at anything. My wife suggests the latter.

As a Medical student at the Univeristy of Leeds, I am looking for some GCSE students that I can support along with my studies.
I am committed to my role as a tutor and am excited to help my students improve in their understanding of science as well as building their confidence.
I achieved a Grade 8 in all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) for GCSEs, and a Grade A* in Biology and Grade A in Chemistry for A-levels. I have a deep understanding of the courses as well as an improved knowledge of the mark schemes, which is essential for good exam technique.
I generally tutor online via platforms Zoom or Google Meet, as this allows me to reach a larger variety of students from different locations.

My name is Seun Michael www.*** Teaching has always been a passion. Because of my love for teaching and the opportunities it gives to make meaningful impact the lives of people, I have always strived to equip myself in order to competently face the challenges of being an educator. Education is the bedrock of any society. I believe teaching is the worthiest cause in the aspiration of making our societies and the world a better place.
I began teaching after my National Diploma from The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where I studied Electrical/electronic engineering. I spent two years teaching and by the end of this experience, I knew I wants to be a teacher. The usual challenges attributed to teaching such as lack of institutional support and the rising indifference toward education by students only excited me to seek solutions. I was sure this solution would only make me a better equipped teacher. My resourcefulness was brought to the fore as I often had to rely on ingenuity to provide teaching aids where none was available. I also learnt that the traditional linear method of teaching which rendered students’ passive recipients of knowledge relying solely on the teacher was not enough to sustain the students’ interest. I therefore made my classes fun, engaging and participatory. I found that students are often active and willing collaborators when given responsibilities and if they can relate well with the subject matter. They also gained confidence and were less likely to be unruly.
The curriculum is designed to guide teaching and learning outcomes. A teacher must have impeccable mastery of the curriculum content in order to properly instruct the students. The latter, too having no doubts in the teacher’s abilities would willingly lend their support. In light of this, I enrolled at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria to study Physics. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2017, I went ahead to acquire a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers Institute, Ibadan Centre and then teacher certification from the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). From the knowledge and experience gathered over the years, I consider myself competent in teaching physics and mathematics which I have done for about fifteen years now. Many of the students which I have taught are now graduates while some are doing well in various Nigeria Universities.
As an enthusiastic, self-motivated dependable and diligent person I believe in developing myself as an example of what I want my students to be in character and learning. I have always taken advantage of available opportunities in order to acquire the excellence which I desire in my students. Coming from a background of the use of the traditional chalk-board, I have endeavored to develop myself by getting computer skills via online tutoring. This enables me to teach with modern teaching aids such as YouTube, flash drive, wireless mouse, projector and so on.
Most often I am called upon to help instruct other teachers in order for them to cope with modern technological aids.
I am a mature team worker with good interpersonal skills able to work well in a group as well as use my own initiative. In the various schools where I have taught, I often help in organizing co-curricular activities for helping students develop problem solving, numeracy as well as critical reasoning skills. I believe that knowledge of the academics must translate to real life applications. Apart from regular examinations, I encourage and help to organize quizzes and games which encourage reasoning and team building skills. Working together with other members of staff, we explore online resources adapting existing ideas and creating activities to meet the needs of our students. I particularly enjoy these moments as they enhance students-teacher relationships as well as afford informal evaluation of the academic work. This is most vital in an effort to make students realize that the educational process is not merely aimed at cerebral development leading to mere acquisition of academic certificates but the development of abilities and awareness for the betterment of the society.
A teacher role is multi-faceted. As a role-model, counselor and ad hoc parent to mention a few, his or her role includes guiding and protecting his or her wards. Societal ills, emotional, physical as well as economic challenges constantly tend to limit students’ response to the teachers efforts as an educator. I endeavor within the general context of the classroom and occasional opportunities one-on-one discourse to motivate and direct the students to make positive decisions. I understand that it is not mine to impose on students or to judge them. My role is to guide them along accepted norms and ethics.
I am flexible and can adapt to most changing situations. I know that each work place is dynamic possessing its own challenges and opportunities as well as limitations. I therefore quickly learn to cope and work within laid down rules and regulations.
Although I have little experience in teaching students with special needs or disabilities, I have the opinion, based on personal experience, that special needs students are not lacking in abilities only requiring specialized skills in teaching them. Skills which can be acquired given the right opportunities and motivation.
I am interested in the field of information technology especially in the field of data science. I intend to explore the possibilities of analyzing and interpretation of data for educational advancement and development in high schools across the world.
I am particularly excited at the prospect of working as a tutor on this platform because it will give me the opportunity of gaining global experience while adding value to the students.

I have been teaching GCSE Science for 22 years, Biology up to A level for 22 years, and Physics A level for 12 years. I can also help with BTEC Science coursework and exams. I have been working for a major exam board for 12 years. I believe in building good relationships being one of the most important things in teaching. When we can communicate effectively we can learn and teach effectively. Most of my teaching has been in central London so I have lots of experience dealing with challenging behaviour and facing the challenge of students who at first don't want to learn. I have had several positions of responsibility including KS3 coordinator, deputy Head of Science, Head of Science, and recently Head of post 16 Sciences and head of BTEC Science. My work with exam boards means I know how to get students to pass exams. I have taken on students currently on a U, and they have ended up getting an A, purely being taught how to answer exam questions. I have a current DBS certificate and recently completed Designated Safeguarding Lead training as well as level 2 courses in Counselling Children and Adolescents, and Forensic Psychology.

I remove mental road blocks by approaching difficult area from other directions, and by instilling the confidence to overcome obstacles. Tutoring sessions are customised to the individual student's needs, with revision strategies to maximise exam performance. Very good at motivating students, being enthusiastic and making the subject fun and exciting. The pace is customised to stretch the young people, while keeping within their comprehension zone. I have the ability to be able to explain complex things in a simple way.
