Maths and physics lessons in London, UK.
I have a total of 4 years of tutoring experience, with both tutoring agencies and in private tuition. I have taught GCSE and A level students across a variety of exam boards, namely Edexcel, AQA, OCR and JWEC. My students have gone to excel in their chosen subjects with significantly improved results.
As a tutor I use a webcam via Skype or Zoom to communicate with my students and a virtual whiteboard to write and explain as I go along. As part of my teaching many of my students have given me positive feedback of how homework and lectures aid and reinforce their learning outside tuition classes.
I usually correct the homework and highlight the corrections before starting a new subject material to ensure my students feel confident that they have mastered a topic before moving ahead. I also make PowerPoint lecture slides and handouts for my students which I am always more than happy to email. After covering the syllabus content, I usually leave ample time to discuss past exam paper questions and how to answer them.
The core principle of my lessons is to first and foremost lay a foundation for the subject material for my students and then to build up the complexity. I highly encourage understanding scientific principles rather than rote memorisation to my students.
I believe learning should be tailored to every students’ individual needs and requirements and they should enjoy the learning material.

Patience is a valuable asset- explaining key points and difficulties, again and again,
Analyze the psychological changes of students- the most overlooked point
Maintain active and effective communication- keep high-efficient teaching
Give feedback on time and assess growth-help students feel confident.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you can choose my courses and I will return a satisfactory result!
I have been teaching GCSE Science for 22 years, Biology up to A level for 22 years, and Physics A level for 12 years. I can also help with BTEC Science coursework and exams. I have been working for a major exam board for 12 years. I believe in building good relationships being one of the most important things in teaching. When we can communicate effectively we can learn and teach effectively. Most of my teaching has been in central London so I have lots of experience dealing with challenging behaviour and facing the challenge of students who at first don't want to learn. I have had several positions of responsibility including KS3 coordinator, deputy Head of Science, Head of Science, and recently Head of post 16 Sciences and head of BTEC Science. My work with exam boards means I know how to get students to pass exams. I have taken on students currently on a U, and they have ended up getting an A, purely being taught how to answer exam questions. I have a current DBS certificate and recently completed Designated Safeguarding Lead training as well as level 2 courses in Counselling Children and Adolescents, and Forensic Psychology.
- We match tutors with students based on location, subject and personality.
- In order to do so, we will find out as much information about the student as possible and consequently brief the selected tutor beforehand.
- Once the most suitable tutor has been selected, they will be given the student’s contact details to arrange the first class.
- The student (or student’s parent) will then be asked to sign a contract, outlining the terms and conditions.

A trusted community of teachers and mentors that inspire kids of all ages to find the wonder in the world's diverse subject areas, working together to enhance learning and development, both in school and beyond classroom doors.
Founded on a unique philosophy towards children's learning and development, we are a community of tutors and mentors who harness the true potential of our students and bring each of our subjects to life.
We believe that building a trusting relationship with the families we work with allows us to foster a genuine passion for the subjects we teach and a love of learning in our students. We have extensive experience teaching in some of the UK’s top schools and offer unparalleled insight into and each and every stage of our students’ development.
We believe that being taken under the wing of a truly inspirational figure can have untold beneficial effects in a young person’s life, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Being guided by someone who has achieved great things in their life provides a goal for children to aspire towards. At a time when they are so impressionable, the motivation, passion and enthusiasm which can be instilled by an inspirational teacher have long-lasting and fundamental benefits.
We work with a community of highly motivated professionals from a large variety of disciplines. The common factor is that they are all highly successful and are passionate about the subjects they teach. Instilling this passion in students is the reason that they got into teaching, and as such we value our tutors hugely. Connecting these tutors with families that will reap the benefits of their expertise and with students that will thrive working with them is our core focus, and is a truly rewarding experience for all of us at Pegasus.
During the lesson I introduce the topic and then I apply it using many questions. I give the student worksheet after every lesson to try and in the next coming lesson we work on it togther.
Science tuition offered for KS3-GCSE of all abilities. I have an extensive teaching career of over 20 years in a range of London secondary schools. 12 of these were as head of science. I have tutored for 11 years and also have been a GCSE exam marker.
As a current third year Physics with Theoretical Physics student at King's College London, I have an unrivalled experience in both Physics and Mathematics that I can share with you. I have received awards from my university for achieving the highest first year laboratory results and have achieved a First in both my first and second year results. Furthermore, I achieved 5 A*s at GCSE and 3 As at A-levels, and I can help you achieve the same.
I have had several years of teaching experience in a few different areas. I am currently working at a tutoring centre where I help students develop their skills in a large array of subjects. I have also had professional tutoring experience with MyTutor where I have tutored students for A-Level and GCSE Maths and Physics for over a year, helping students to achieve the grades they require. With MyTutor I provided support to students over a video call, helping them with homework problems and achieving the grades they wanted.
I used to be member of my school's academic mentor team and eventually helped to run and organise the academic mentors. Our role was to provide support to younger students studying for their GCSEs. I would meet up with one or two younger students over lunchtimes and provide support and tuition in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I partook in the academic mentor team for two years.
Further to this, I was a member of my school's Combined Cadet Forces where I was trained in how to prepare and deliver lessons to younger cadets and was later given the responsibility of training them. My time leading cadets in the CCF taught me how to effectively deliver information to people and the importance of suiting my teaching style to different people. I have also given support to some of my friends with EFL tasks and would often try and explain the mistakes that they may have made. This helped me to learn how to communicate ideas in an effective manner to people who are not entirely fluent in English.

John obtained a First Class Honours degree in Physics and Philosophy from Durham, before a PhD in Physics and Applied Mathematics at Leeds. He now works as a research scientist in London, following similar experience in Washington, DC.
With wide experience in communicating and teaching, John has established a personable and adaptable approach. He is able to explain concepts from a number of angles, and enjoys helping students find their individual way in to a subject. His goal is to give students the confidence that they really ‘get’ the topic at hand, not just to reinforce rote learning. This approach has been successful both in general revision, helping to solidify ideas, and in targeted exam preparation, helping to unlock specific barriers to understanding.

Hi there! I'm Dhruv, a friendly and enthusiastic Neuroscience student at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Teaching has always been something I enjoy and I truly believe there is nothing more satisfying than helping someone with their education. Being a student of Science, I love the study of Biology, especially human Biology, and would love the opportunity to guide you with it, as well as Maths and Chemistry so that they can potentially become your favourite as well. I have been teaching students for several years now. With hundreds of hours of experience under my belt as well as plenty of students achieving top grades, my results speak for themselves. Being a student too, the knowledge I have of GCSEs and A-Levels, as well as the process of applying to university is still fresh inside my head. On top of this, the constant teaching of these subjects has allowed me to develop myself and explain various concepts and methods such that students understand in a way where it sticks. Permanently. I would like to be as interactive as possible during lessons to maximise your understanding of the topics covered. To facilitate me, I will use the online whiteboard and my own resources such as documents that I will send, making it my goal to ensure that you leave any lesson with a better and clearer grasp of the topic than you had when you started. Once I feel that you do have a good understanding, I will give you plenty of questions to reinforce what you learned, after all, practice makes perfect and we want nothing less than perfect :) Aside from GCSE and A-Level help, I also coach people wanting to study medicine at university. The process of sitting admissions tests, gaining a good reference, preparing for interviews, and writing a *BANGING* personal statement all seems a bit much when you don't have www.*** when you have stress from A-Levels already. I learned this the hard way :/ - Get in touch for help with the UCAT, BMAT Oxbridge admissions, and all help related to applying to Med School :) Outside of lessons, I am always contactable by e-mail so if you have any questions, drop a message and from there we can hopefully begin our journey to reaching academic perfection :) Looking forward to meeting you cool kid
Physics lessons in London, UK.
Currently KS3 Teacher and KS4-KS5 Physics teacher in a state mixed school in North of London
Originally from Singapore, I came to the UK, on my own, at 16 to a tutorial college in Croydon to study for my A levels in Biology,Chemistry, Physics and Maths on a 18 month course gaining AABB respectively and winning a place to study Medicine at Imperial College London.
This would have been impossible if I'd stayed home as I was not allowed to take up Biology at O levels in Singapore as I did not do well enough when I was 14 to enter into the set allowed to take 3 sciences and those doing 2 sciences were forced to take Chem/Physics. Today, I know that I wasn't just slow or stupid as my teachers had said. I had dyspraxia.
It is those experiences I had as a teenager that has made me the teacher I am today. That is one that understands that every child has their own way of learning, not being able to do something right now doesn't mean they will never be able to do it and that if you make learning fun, any person will be able to get it eventually. In other words, learning/teaching needs to be tailored to the learner.
In the initial meeting, I'll aim to find out the student's weaknesses, strengths, and general interests. If the aim is exam preparation, I will get the student to complete selected past year paper questions. This helps me find out what areas the student needs support with and also how I could present material in a way that will engage him/her. We will then agree a plan of action together. In on going sessions, I will also try to integrate and model key study skills such as mind mapping, taking concise notes, memory tricks etc. There will be quizzes either oral or written at the end of each lesson or start of the following lesson to check how much learning has been made. The student will then be ask to evaluate their own progress and set targets for themselves.
