I'm a friendly and supportive tutor with a wide range of teaching and tutoring experience. Each student is different, and not all methods will work for all students - with that in mind, I always begin by discussing where the student is currently, what they would like to achieve from their course, and how they prefer to work. We can then find a way to move forward together. I use questioning, online and paper-based resources to support students as they progress. It is essential that students have a good understanding of the key scientific concepts, as well as good exam technique - so we focus on both of these areas during our time working together. I have 7 years of experience teaching in the greater London area, and more than 10 years of experience one-to-one tutoring in both London and Scotland. At my previous school I was Head of Biology, and also ran a Clinical Group for students aiming to study Medicine at university. I now work for two exam boards as an examiner and centre moderator. |
