Research experience
2008– 2015 – Doctoral research into methods of re-engaging young learners who had been excluded from school. . The aim of the research was to:
· investigate and identify factors responsible for lack of engagement in some young people
· analyse main theoretical models relating to special needs and learning disabilities
· investigate central government policies relating to issues of access, retention, quality of mainstream and non mainstream provision for young people at secondary and post secondary level
· design new curriculum and implement a programme aimed at re-engaging young people who have diverse learning barriers
1992-4 - MA research on use of rap music to develop literacy skills in disadvantaged learners. The aim of the research was to:
· Identify learning barriers which disadvantaged learners face when learning literacy skills in the classroom
· Analyse most effective approaches to teaching literacy to disadvantaged learners
· Devise an action research project based upon developing resources using rap music and implementing new strategies in the classroom

I enjoy prioritising my workload to consistently produce work of high accuracy with excellent attention to detail skills and a logical approach to problem solving. My professionalism and organised approach enable me to remain calm when working under pressure and I am enthusiastic and conscientious, with a natural ability to deal appropriately with people on all levels. For over 14 years, I've been at the helm of a photography teaching school in the bustling heart of London.
