I also teach COMMUNICATION, COMPREHENSION, AND COMPILATION to any level, from adult literacy and university entry examinations to degree level and postgraduate study, as well as fundamental language skills, such as SPEAKING, LISTENING, READING, AND WRITING. I have many years of experience teaching ACADEMIC ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (and in many cases third or even fourth) to university students and mature students.

I have been a professor, lecturer, and tutor at universities in the UK (Lancaster University, University of Bath, University of Western England), United States (Minnesota, Columbia NY), and South America (Universidad de Buenos Aires, Universidad de Belgrano) for the last 20 years. My main subjects have been philosophy, history, psychology, and physics, as well as social research methods and theory, including both qualitative and quantitative methods. For the last 13 years, I have also taught English language, critical theory and thinking, and discourse analysis, as well as teaching and supervising students. I have supervised and mentored many PHD students.
As co-founder and director of the John Dewey Center for Democracy and Education, affiliated with the Institute of Advanced Study, University of Minnesota, I have great interest in education as a means by which we discover what it means to be a human being and tap into our CREATIVITY AND INTELLIGENCE.
I am also a published author (13 books to date) and certified life coach.
