I am a Biochemistry professional, having studied at the University of Oxford, and graduated with a Masters degree in molecular and cellular biochemistry. I have solid background (7 years experience) with chemistry (organic, inorganic, physical) and biochemistry for both A-levels and University level.
My preferred method of tutoring is the Oxford tutorial method, that works via questions that aim to develop critical thinking skills in the student, and an ability to follow a line of reason from scratch building-up to complex arguments. This is especially useful in dealing with the more complex questions set by the exams, requiring proofs and a solid inference pattern.
I have taught more than 50 students in the past in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Physics and Maths, as well being the personal tutor of 3 students that wanted training for the Oxford University interviews, 2 of which have got in, both reading for Biochemistry as a choice of degree.
I have seven years experience tutoring one on one in STEM subjects from GCSE, A-levels all the way through to Graduate degree level.

I try and keep my lessons engaging, using past papers, online resources, videos, anything that the client may need. Everyone learns in different ways. I really do pride myself on being able to explain complex topics in the simplest terms, making science relatable and accessible to every student. I adore the subject and it certainly shows in my teaching.
Alongside teaching to each GCSE or A-Level syllabus, I am also always reading the latest popular science books, or watching the most current documentaries on TV, so I love talking around the subject with my students, relating their learning to what is happening in the real world.

My name is Kat, I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London and MSc at the London School of Economics. I have a wide range of hobbies which include music and art. My indulgence in my hobbies, however, did not prevent me from distinguishing myself academically. I want my students to understand and learn in an efficient albeit enjoyable way.
