Tutoring Approach
My Lessons are tailored towards the student and feedback can be given to the parent if required on the first lesson for initial impressions and a suitable plan going forward. There is regular contact with the parent and Mock exams conducted throughout the year(free of charge as long a regular weekly lessons have been taking place). My priority is tailoring each of my lessons according to individual students, which is a key aspect of one-to-one tutoring. I also use questions and homework to check understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student`s understanding and technique.
I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. My aim as your tutor would be to identify your strengths and weaknesses and build upon these appropriately. I would incorporate past paper questions very early in the curriculum to assess how well a child can apply their knowledge to answering exam questions. This will ensure that by the time the exams are sat the student will be fully prepared.
I prepare materials which allow them to reinforce their understanding to learn a difficult subject. I gradually strengthen their knowledge and bring them to a higher level.
