I am working with Tutor4All . We offer a range of tutoring services for GCSE's and A-level students. Our tutoring sessions are designed to be engaging, interactive and focused on student's specific areas of improvement. First Lesson is on Us!
I have been tutoring French for over twenty years. I tutor to all levels: primary, secondary, GCSE, 'A'-level, as well as individual adults and families. I like to get to know my students and their families personally. I recognise that all students are different in terms of character and ability, and I like to think that I tailor my teaching to the needs of each individual. For GCSE and 'A'-level students, I am familiar with all current examination board syllabuses. For adults, I can help improve your speaking and understanding of the language, and am happy to supply recent references. My hobbies include playing table-tennis in a local league, gardening and general reading, For the majority of my early working life ,I worked as a representative for the Publishing Department of a Trade Organisation, which involved technical translation work and liaising with our offices in Brussels, Paris and Geneva. .I have always loved the French language, and I am currently working towards the diploma in translation.
Growing up, I thought learning was difficult. As an adult, I’ve made it my mission to make concepts easy to understand. I’ve got vast experience teaching and learning.
I am a well-organised teacher and I am passionate about my subject my goal is to help students improve their numeracy skills and achieve their full potential also, I enjoy having a positive impact on young people and changing their lives for the better.
My career has been as a learning and development specialist with 30 years in an airlines, and a rich background of 20 years as a private tutor, successfully coaching students up to GCSE level.
As a tutor, I have taught students from grade 6 to GCSE Level, and in my profession as an instructor conducted classroom training and hands-on workshop sessions for pilot, mechanic and communication trainees and technical apprentices aged 18 – 23 years. Experienced IT trainer in MS Windows, MS Office and other software.

I am an experienced English teacher who has worked in secondary schools for the over 20 years. I am also an AQA Lead Moderator and and Adviser to more than 150 schools for English Language A Level. I have Advanced Diplomas (post degree) in Language and Literacy and in Child Development. English Language is my passion though, of course, I have taught GCSE Literature as part of my professional role in school and I love teaching the texts associated with the requirements of the course. I am happy to write specific schemes of work tailored for students' specific needs. I enjoy working with teenagers at both GCSE and A Level though my specialist Language knowledge is particularly relevant to A Level Language students. Increasingly, however, this in depth knowledge is relevant to GCSE English students. I am happy to work with all levels and relish the opportunity to engage with individuals who are seeking to increase their knowledge and understanding of the key requirements for both GCSE and A level courses. During the past year I have worked alongside students from years 7 - 13. I prefer to work online as this allows me to work one to one with pupils from across the country and help them to develop their skills through close monitoring and feedback. My DBS Certificate was renewed on 15 June 2024 and I have a current Child Protection Certificate 2023 both of which are requirements for my position as an English Teacher at a High School. I will make all powerpoints available to students after the classes and will mark and give feedback for work completed after the lessons although homework is optional.

I am friendly, approachable and enjoy making learning meaningful for pupils. My lessons begin with starting activities to recap the previous learning, identify any misconceptions. Moving onto the main part of the lesson I plan activities promoting fluency in the skill then application to a real-life situation or worded exam-style question. Games and quizzes can be fun and useful in testing rapid recall.
I have been teaching for fifteen years and have taught learners of all abilities, backgrounds and socio-economic circumstances, planning for progression and offering timely feedback. I endeavour to make learning as enjoyable as possible and do my utmost to "make learning stick". I am compassionate and go the extra mile for learners.

Now I do all my lessons on line, either by Skype, Zoom or any other equivalent .It is cheaper for the pupil, no travelling, so no fuel used, and easier all round as the timings can be changed easily on either side, to suit any sudden problems.
I teach reading music as a given, right from the beginning. Either classical or acoustic but no specific styles, i. e. country, folk, blues etc. No, I will teach you to play properly with tutor books and additional material and with the knowledge gained you will eventually be able to play in whatever style suits you, but I will not teach a style at the lesson.
Having 60 books of guitar music published in 5 different publishers, and having played, arranged, transcribed and written all forms of guitar music since my teens, I am uniquely equipped to teach anyone whether a beginner, or an advanced player or any level in between.
I am often asked to transcribe unpublished classical guitar recordings onto sheet music which I will do happily for a fee, should anyone be interested.

I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. I am a professional Alto Saxophonist who has been playing for 17 years. I have many years experience playing solo at functions/events such as weddings and parties, aswel as in Big Bands such as Salford University big band, Orchestras, Wind bands and contemporary music bands. I have performed at venues that include Birmingham Conservatoire and Bridgewater Hall. I have trained in Jazz improvisation and enjoy playing all genres of music.
