I’m currently a psychology student at university however I also have a special interest in history and geology, having done both for my A-Levels. I have previously tutored younger students in both subjects in high school.
I have studied human history from the Dawn of Civilisation right through to the end of the Cold War in 1990.
This has taken me on journeys through the rise and fall of classical civilisations such as Greece and Rome. I have studied ancient Egyptian Archaeology including time spent in Crete on an archaeological dig, researching the relationship between the Minoan culture and ancient Egypt.
I use a variety of teaching and learning methods to make students more confident in their subject knowledge, written responses and understanding of the ways in which their work is assessed. I consider myself to be very approachable, and as well as making lessons challenging I also aim to make the sessions enjoyable as that is when we learn best. I also value feedback from students on the activities they find the most beneficial to make the learning as effective as possible.
I can accommodate anyone and their needs. My approach can differ depending on the student and what they prefer. I can help with topics that students struggle with and help them create effective revision materials. I can help you get the grade you desire.
In addition to being an outstanding teacher of History and Sociology with over 25 years experience I am also a 121 tutor of English Literature and Language, working with students who are unable to access education in a traditional setting for a variety of emotion's.
