I am an experienced English teacher who has worked in secondary schools for the over 20 years. I am also an AQA Lead Moderator and and Adviser to more than 150 schools for English Language A Level. I have Advanced Diplomas (post degree) in Language and Literacy and in Child Development. English Language is my passion though, of course, I have taught GCSE Literature as part of my professional role in school and I love teaching the texts associated with the requirements of the course. I am happy to write specific schemes of work tailored for students' specific needs. I enjoy working with teenagers at both GCSE and A Level though my specialist Language knowledge is particularly relevant to A Level Language students. Increasingly, however, this in depth knowledge is relevant to GCSE English students. I am happy to work with all levels and relish the opportunity to engage with individuals who are seeking to increase their knowledge and understanding of the key requirements for both GCSE and A level courses. During the past year I have worked alongside students from years 7 - 13. I prefer to work online as this allows me to work one to one with pupils from across the country and help them to develop their skills through close monitoring and feedback. My DBS Certificate was renewed on 15 June 2024 and I have a current Child Protection Certificate 2023 both of which are requirements for my position as an English Teacher at a High School. I will make all powerpoints available to students after the classes and will mark and give feedback for work completed after the lessons although homework is optional. |
