I can teach Maths and Chemistry from KS2 to A level. I have been teaching since 1989. I have retired few years back from full time teaching.
I am an award-winning and highly experienced "super" tutor and academic coach with over 15 years of tutoring, teaching and coaching experience, during which period I have made multiple students become university toppers and world prize winners. As for my own qualifications, I have a First Class Honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Doctorate in Engineering (Expertise: High-fidelity numerical simulations). Of the hundreds of students that I have tutored / coached over the past 15 years, almost all acquired the best possible grade and none has ever got a grade lower than a B, despite the spread in the aptitudes and circumstances of incoming students. My priority is tailoring each of my lessons according to individual students, which is a key aspect of one-to-one tutoring. I also use questions and homework to check understanding continually. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student`s understanding and technique.
I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with first-class honours, as well as the Richard Shackleton prize for best dissertation in the year. As a consequence, I have developed my essay writing techniques and structures to a level that is a very high standard. Hi, I am Laraib! I have been teaching Psychology GCSE (OCR) and A level (AQA) for the past 7 years. I have extensive experience in tutoring and teaching moderate to large classes. I have helped students achieve the grades they require regardless of their current attainment.
