Hi,
My name is Russell and I have been a qualified teacher for over 10 years now. I have worked in a number of different education settings including primary, secondary, further education and SEND. I can offer tutoring for any reason you have, whether it be to improve confidence, work on specific areas or prepare for SATS/GCSE's. I have experience teaching both Foundation and Higher tier GCSE so can cater for any need.
I always offer my first session for free so that you can see whether I am the right fit moving forward. My rate is £25 per hour however, I am happy to negotiate this also.

I am 37 years of age and have more than 11 years of teaching experience. A dynamic, ambitious and hard-working teacher with experience in state and independent school systems across the age range from Reception to KS4. I have more than 11 years experience of tutoring pupils of all ages. I enjoy tutoring and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. When tutoring, I find it very important to allow the student to feel confident in their work using lots of praise. It is important that the student feels they can get something wrong, so long as they try. This helps me to find out any misconceptions they might have, so I can re-teach any topics they may need refreshing. I ensure children are challenged age appropriately, and support learners to gain confidence when they are back in the classroom. I am able to work at home or in the pupil's home (happy to travel up to 5 miles from my home) and am currently available evenings and week-ends.
I am a very experienced Maths teacher who has worked with learners of all ages from primary through to further education. I feel that it is important to find a way of working that works for each learner and allow them to succeed.
Tuition is available for A Level Physics, GCSE Physics, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Science. KS3 Science is also offered.
Tuition is given in 1 hour sessions
Tuitions sessions provided online through the Google Meet platform.
A typical session will involve a short review of previous work and a mix of explanation, verbal questions and exam-style questions to check understanding. Students will complete work during the session using Google Jamboard. This approach will be changed where the tutor judges this is necessary for the ideas being covered or to meet the needs of the Student.
Students may need to print questions so they will need access to a printer.

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated English tutor, examiner and writer. I offer stimulating and enjoyable lessons via video call which build upon each student's strengths to enable them to overcome their difficulties with greater confidence. I find tutoring immensely rewarding and strive to help all my students meet their full potential regardless of their ability. I teach English language and music. First, my experience of teaching music. I have extensive experience of working with students at all levels. I have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music. I have taught music for the Open University and currently teach music for Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, where my specialty is the history of opera. I am also a senior member of the examinations team for music at the International Baccalaureate Organisation, with particular responsibility for the extended essay in music ( a subject I have written a guide on). My role with IBO involves setting the standard for the extended essay, in consultation with my colleagues, and then leading a team of examiners with the aim of ensuring that the standard is adhered to. I am a trustee of the Society for Music Analysis, the UK's leading learned society for the promotion of the study of music analysis. I have contributed papers to international conferences and founded Theory of Music Ltd a not-for-profit company which provides free and low-cost resources for the study of the history and theory of music. I have extensive experience of teaching online as well as face to face. I am particularly interested in teaching music history and theory.
Second, my experience of teaching English language. I have extensive experience of teaching adult students. I have taught corporate clients for the past 10 years and for the previous 4 years was an IELTS instructor for Aston American University. I taught students online worldwide and helped many students achieve the result they needed in the test. Lessons were usually conducted on zoom or Skype. I also wrote a PTE Academic Test of English course for Aston American. I have published degree level distance learning courses and occasional reviews, e.g. in the Times Higher Education Supplement. I very much enjoy meeting students from different cultures and helping them achieve their goals.
Hi there, I'm Ellen. I have taught in mainstream and grammar secondary schools since 2010 and tutored privately from KS2 - KS5 in French, Spanish, English, Maths and 11+ for over 10 years. I hold a BA Joint Honours from Cardiff University in French and Spanish, PGCE and TSST Secondary Maths qualification. I was previously the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, therefore I am Level 3 Safeguarding trained. I have also worked as a holiday nanny for over 10 years in the south of France for children between the ages of 6 months to 18 years of age. I have three children of my own.
