I'm an acting coach and theatre director based in Salisbury with over 15 years experience in theatre. I have trained in the UK and USA (Bristol Old Vic, CSSD and Actors Temple London) (SITI Company New York and The Acting Corps LA).
I love working with actors, exploring scripts and developing characters. Having initially trained as an actor, I have a great respect for the process. I have been working with pre-professional actors for around 10 years and supported many on successful application to drama school.
My training lies in Michael Chekhov, Meisner, Viewpoints and Suzuki and have a physical approach to text (Stella Adler). I bring a range of skills and approaches to the text, that can help unlock scenes, and support you on your journey. However, as a director and teacher I am able to adapt to the individual needs of the actor.

I have been teaching since 2006 across Yorkshire and Staffordshire, to a variety of age groups and abilities and in a variety of settings; from community groups to sixth-form colleges. Now I have returned to my roots in Doncaster, where I began performing at the age of 7 years and founded DN4 Dance & Theatre in 2019. In addition to a BA Hons in Dance and PGCE (PCET), I have a background in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre and is a registered teacher with BBOdance (British Ballet Organisation). When I'm not teaching, I work closely with local Theatre groups and on a professional basis, acting, singing and providing choreography for events/productions. Over my experience in working in FE, I have successfully supported many of my students in their application process to Higher Education and Drama school; selecting and rehearsing monologues for audition and preparing UCAS application. Some of my former students are currently studying at ALRA and UCLAN and I have also successfully helped students gain entry to Anglia Ruskin in Cambridge.
While my recent formal experience has been with FE students and above, I have taught students from the age of 5 through to university level on a wide range of topics. Areas of study include; Physical Theatre (from Dance-based to Commedia dell'Arte), Shakespeare, Contemporary Theatre, Prose.
A general lesson will include a short warm-up (either skills or focus based) prior to the main content; breaking down a script/choreography, rehearsal, feedback and discussion based on learning taken place and next steps. I try to make lessons as practical as I can, dependent on the material that we are working with and the end result required.

I am an on-line and off-line personal tutor with much experience in several subject areas including English, English Language, English Literature, Media Studies, Film Studies, Theatre Studies, and General Writing Skills. I have taught a range of students off-line from pre-exam age (11+) to Standard Grade, Higher, and university level, and on-line for pre-exam level (12+), GCSE, AS level, A-Level, university level, postgraduate and the adult learners since 2007.
I believe that learning should be fun and in a relaxed atmosphere but at the same time academic and useful. My approach to teaching is to have the tutor and student both feel that they are getting a lot out of the experience and that the time is being well used. I will break down subjects into easily manageable blocks and make sure that my student understands the unit before moving on. I also like to vary my tutorials by having some in the form of lectures, some in the form of question and answers, some where I will give students feedback on homework they have done and suggestions to improve what they have done, etc.
I also find that on-line tuition is the best method and students can ask questions that they may not ask if they were face-to-face with someone, it is a much more relaxed approach but students get a lot out of it (and can save all the notes from lessons for use later on).
A well as being an experienced on-line and off-line personal tutor, I have also had several other academic jobs including:
Lecturer at Forth Valley College
Seminar tutor at The University of Glasgow
Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Glasgow
Top-Up Tutor at The University of Glasgow
Step Up to University Lecturer at University of West of Scotland
REACH Tutor at University of Glasgow
Proof Reader at University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland and Scottish Rural University College
Note Taker at University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland and Scottish Rural University College
Study Support Tutor at University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland and Scottish Rural University College
Transcriber at University of the West of Scotland
Support Worker at University of the West of Scotland and Scottish Rural University College
Exam Scribe at University of Glasgow and Scottish Rural University College

My name is Christine Borg. I grew up in a small island where my education led me to a Bachelor’s degree in General Medical Studies. However, the artistic fibre in me eventually took me to London to study Drama and in 2017, I graduated with a Master’s degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
I returned to my family and pursued my other life interests: dogs, target shooting, and SCUBA diving amongst other things. I had to earn a living besides trying to put into practice my Acting career. I managed to balance work and getting some experience in Theatre, TV, film, Radio voice overs and singing.
The best balance of work and satisfaction came through teaching but, after Summer 2019 my life brought me back to the UK, where I now live. I took the first good job that came along, solely to earn my living.
However, I want my work be worthwhile besides being my financial income. Satisfaction in my job is of the utmost importance to me, and I believe I can achieve this through teaching.
My qualifications allow me to teach English to students form 3-year-olds to adults, GCSE level Chemistry, Biology and Physics and Science to 8 to 16-year-old students.
As I wish to continue teaching Online, I use all my experience from my TEFL qualifications and Drama school days to improvise and make my lessons as interactive and as interesting as possible. In English classes, in particular, I can help the students with their pronunciation and conversation by giving them confidence in themselves. I try to apply a positive outlook in whatever I am teaching. Engaging with the student is the basis for learning.

Having studied Musical Theatre since the age of 15, I am now graduated from a prestigious London drama school, signed with an agent and am beginning the process of entering the industry. I wouldn't be where I am today without my teachers and tutors and I want to pay that forward to help young people achieve their creative goals. I like to work very personally, so we will sit down in our first session and discuss your personal goals, I will then work with each individual student to reach those goals. I'm willing to give anything a go, as long as you are. Let's work hard and have fun!

I have worked professionally as an actor, a playwright and as a singer-songwriter for the past five years, since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2016. Last year I wrote, composed and starred in a new original musical which is being revived again this year. Later, in the summer, I will play my first festival set as a solo singer-songwriter. I have been playing guitar, keyboards and writing songs for over ten years. My first album and tour as a singer-songwriter are due next year.
At school, I received 8 grade 1 (the highest possible grade) Standard Grade Awards (equivalent of GCSEs). I then received 5 grade A (the highest possible grade) Higher Awards (equivalent of A Levels), as well as receiving Best In School Awards for English and History, I received Certificates of Merit for the three other subjects: Music, French and Maths.
I have worked as a Nanny, teaching instruments to under 10s, and have extensive experience teaching drama school auditionees of all ages, students having gone on to earn places in RADA, Guildhall, LAMDA, Central and many others.
