Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. Hello and welcome to my tutoring profile. To give context, I was a Teaching Assistant for 15 years and worked across all areas of primary levels from Nursery up to year 6. I finished my career being the leading Teaching Assistant in neurodiverse children as I have a passion for all children to have the education they deserve. I am an extremely caring, empathetic person with a passion for children’s education.
I planned, delivered and evaluated focus groups on a daily basis, often with the purpose to encourage cooperative engagement with other pupils. In addition, I had key children, who I would track their journey, in order to ensure they were meeting the key markers set out in the curriculum.
I would liaise with parents/carers on a daily basis. I created exciting multi-sensory environments which inspired and aided classroom learning.
I’ve worked alongside a variety of teachers when working in years 4,5 & 6 which allowed me to familiarise myself with the KS2 curriculum. I have 5 years’ experience working in Year 6 giving me a wealth of understanding of preparation for SATS, with children across all abilities.
In addition, I ran the school choir and school eco group. With the choir they would perform in assemblies, nursing homes and the local community. The eco group tended an allotment alongside people in the community as well as projects of planting using recycled materials around the school.
I believe children’s education should be an all-rounded experience and we should invest in them wholly and wisely as they are our future generation.

I teach English language and music. First, my experience of teaching music. I have extensive experience of working with students at all levels. I have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in music. I have taught music for the Open University and currently teach music for Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, where my specialty is the history of opera. I am also a senior member of the examinations team for music at the International Baccalaureate Organisation, with particular responsibility for the extended essay in music ( a subject I have written a guide on). My role with IBO involves setting the standard for the extended essay, in consultation with my colleagues, and then leading a team of examiners with the aim of ensuring that the standard is adhered to. I am a trustee of the Society for Music Analysis, the UK's leading learned society for the promotion of the study of music analysis. I have contributed papers to international conferences and founded Theory of Music Ltd a not-for-profit company which provides free and low-cost resources for the study of the history and theory of music. I have extensive experience of teaching online as well as face to face. I am particularly interested in teaching music history and theory.
Second, my experience of teaching English language. I have extensive experience of teaching adult students. I have taught corporate clients for the past 10 years and for the previous 4 years was an IELTS instructor for Aston American University. I taught students online worldwide and helped many students achieve the result they needed in the test. Lessons were usually conducted on zoom or Skype. I also wrote a PTE Academic Test of English course for Aston American. I have published degree level distance learning courses and occasional reviews, e.g. in the Times Higher Education Supplement. For the last 10 years, I have been working as a primary school teacher at an outstanding school.
I have over 15 years experience and have worked within many schools, two of which were long-term.
Over the years, my teaching career has allowed me to experience many different and difficult situations. These in turn have made me a more confident, organised, resourceful and experienced (in many years groups) teacher.
My current role is a Year 2 class teacher, however I have taught children from Nursery up to Year 6 as a cover teacher too.
I took part in the Government led school tutoring program, where I tutored 3 children from Year 2 in Writing. This has deepened my experience further, especially when assisting children to achieve the best they can.
I have carried out and planned for many 1:1 or group interventions in Maths and English to assist with our school's Covid catch-up program.
I want to build a good rapport with my pupils, a relationship that is fun, respectful and honest.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.

I have worked in the education setting for the past 9 years; working with children of differing ages and abilities. In 2013, I qualified as a Primary School teacher and took up my first teaching post in a school in Devon. I taught a mixed class of Year 4,5 and 6 children over many years and got through many Year 6 SATs testing too. I then went on to teach at another Devon primary school where I taught a variety of year groups. Having trained as a Maths specialist for teaching at Exeter University, I became the Mathematics Lead for the Exe Valley Federation. During this time, I went on to learn more about the best methods to teach Mathematics along with taking part in a Mathematics Mastery research programme. I supported teachers and ran training in how to improve Maths teaching across the schools.
Whilst studying for my degree at the Plymouth University, I spent time researching in both Special Needs and main stream Schools to learn about child development. In 2011, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant at a Special Needs School where I worked alongside the Mathematics teacher to support the children’s learning in a way that would work best for each child in the school.
Tutoring has become a natural progression for me after teaching for many years. I genuinely believe that with the right support ALL children can succeed. Watching children make small steps of progress has been the key to my love of teaching. As a tutor, I can gently assess your child and give them the extra support to help them gain the confidence they need in school. Many parents have mentioned how their child’s confidence has improved since tuition, not only in the subject they were tutored in, but as an individual overall. This in many ways is as important as grades achieved. Through the improvement in confidence, a child can start to flourish and will start to get more out of their school setting.
