I am a qualified teacher based in Oxford with a first class master's in physics from Cambridge University and a PGCE from Oxford University. I have eight years of experience as a teacher and I am enhanced DBS checked. I am currently offering a free taster lesson for students in the UK.
Combining a deep understanding of my subject with a wealth of teaching experience, I love helping students understand their subject, succeed in it, and enjoy it - not only excelling in exams, but mastering and enjoying the subject as well. By developing a thorough understanding of their subject as well as familiarity with exam questions and exam technique, I aim to help students grasp their subject in a way that makes sense to them, enabling both enjoyment and success in their studies.
I offer bespoke online physics, maths, further maths, and chemistry tuition tailored to the needs of my students. I can do A-level, GCSE, and KS3, and I am also able to offer training for the maths and physics olympiads. Typical lessons involve a mixture of exam questions coaching combined with interactive teaching on areas students find difficult, however I am happy to adjust my approach to students’ needs.

MIT 2020 graduate in mechanical engineering, currently a PhD student in Biomechanics engineering at the University of Oxford. 2015 IB graduate with a 45/45 grade. I graduated from Amman Academy High School in 2015. I took the International Baccalaureate Diploma and achieved the full score of (45/45) (Four Higher Level subjects). I completed my bachelor's degree, majoring in both mechanical and biological engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, www.*** GPA. I am currently a graduate student (PhD) at the University of Oxford (UK) in biomedical engineering.
I did private tutoring in Amman for college students and high school students in A levels and IB Math subjects, Chemistry and Physics SL and HL, both with the material and with internal reports. In addition, while taking the IB diploma myself, I did extensively help my peers in grasping important or confusing material: (Note: for ethical reasons, I no longer 'help' with IB internal reports or projects).
Apart from teaching IB A-levels, and college prep on the side for 8 years, I worked as a Teacher Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for mechanical and biological engineering subjects (dynamics and control, inorganic chemistry, thermodynamics), as well as a tutor for biofluids and biomechanics at the University of Oxford, helping Professors write the course material, offering recitations and review sessions for my students, and grading weekly homework and quizzes.
I am very interested in the methodology behind teaching and continuously work to learn and improve my approach. I understand that each student is different from the others, and accordingly, I tailor the tutoring session according to the individual needs of the student. I am also friendly, young and easy to approach by the students, and am into reading, sports and health in my free time.
I have also taken the SAT and SAT Subject Tests (Math Level II and Chemistry) required for US university admissions, and scored 800/800 and 780/800, respectively. As well as the GRE scoring 95th percentile in the quantitative section.

Dedicated tutor of sciences at GCSE & Biology Alevel.
The GCSE biology, chemistry, physics and A level biology specifications are broader and more challenging than ever and securing places at Sixth Form and University remains competitive. Tuition offers students the opportunity to gain a more in depth and comprehensive understanding of the syllabus and create a better environment for success throughout the teaching year and in particular at exam time. I am a highly motivated and dedicated science tutor offering one to one personal tuition for single or combined science subjects. I've been working in the scientific/education field since 1982 firstly at Oxford University and then Faringdon Academy and have a proven track record of success over the last 15 years. My aim is to provide personal tuition tailored to suit the individual needs of students explaining scientific concepts in an easy-to-understand way, enabling a good understanding of the subject matter and increasing students confidence and grades. Students are encouraged to answer past exam papers to gain full appreciation of scientific key words, exam technique and mark scheme associated with each question. Science Explained Simply!

I am a research scientist working for UK Research and Innovation. I have more than 6 years of experience tutoring and teaching undergraduate physics and mathematics courses. I strive to hit a balance between (i) showing how certain concepts and formulas naturally arise (which helps students to understand the subject), and (ii) practical tips and tools to solve problems encountered in exams and life. I am also flexible to adapt to the needs of the learner, for example, a student may say: I have two days before the exam, what can I do to maximize my marks? (No shame in that, we all have been there) I have shortcuts ready for such times of emergency. I am also good at identifying strengths students have and can coach them to excel. Whatever may be your case, I am happy to assist you in your journey. Try me out, the first lesson is free!

I am a practicing Science teacher at a Secondary School and Hospital School in Oxfordshire. I have taught Science for several years and have successfully tutored students online and at home over the past three years.
I enjoy tutoring and would look to adapt sessions to your Science requirements whether you are looking for improvement in Biology, Physics or Chemistry in Key Stage 3 or for GCSE.
I have over this time built up a good track record of developing excellent student progress and also students enjoyment for, and confidence in, their Science work.

Qualified teacher with a physics doctorate and first class degree, Howard brings the best out of students.
Howard is not only a qualified teacher with a doctorate and First Class degree from St Andrews, but he is also a published scientist and technology entrepreneur. This provides real motivation to his students as they see the real-world application of the subject matter.
Combining that with his knowledge of pedagogy from classroom teaching and tutoring, he meets the student where they are at in their educational journey and walks with them. His light-hearted and friendly demeanour put his students at ease as they enjoy grappling with tough challenges and gain satisfaction in their completion.
Approach
• Student-centred: By first understanding where the student is at, I tailor my approach to their needs.
• Confidence is key: I often meet pupils whose confidence was damaged by the classroom environment and thus offer plenty of encouragement and meaningful support.
• Practice makes perfect: Using well selected exercises that meet the pupil at their point in the learning journey and guide them forwards.
• Motivation is crucial to unlocking the effort required to succeed. Knowing why it is important and how it is used in the real world can really help.
• Genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter - passion is contagious!
• Instil a love of learning by making the whole process enjoyable.
Experience
Individual tutoring experience:
- School tutoring with Swavesey Village College in Cambridgeshire;
- University tutoring at the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University;
School teaching experience:
- Science and Maths teacher North Cambridge Academy;

I love Biology and believe that anyone can enjoy learning more about life on Earth. I find that students thrive with one-to-one tuition because it is tailored for their needs - we can make sure that they understand the subject content as well as working on any weakness in exam technique. A huge part of succeeding in Biology is having the confidence to interpret and answer the questions correctly. This comes more quickly with guidance from someone who has seen a lot of exam papers!
