My work experience is mainly comprised of volunteering work. I dabbled in some social volunteering work during the first year of my undergraduate studies, which provided me with the opportunity to teach Mathematics (for a term of six months), a subject that I absolutely adore, to high school students. I continued this teaching for six months, after which I took on a more challenging task. The NHF (National Hawker's Federation), a charitable organization, that works to assess the welfare and health of hawkers. For the other half of my first year, I joined the NHF and helped them conduct surveys while also communicating with the local government to ensure that the rights of hawkers were upheld and respected.
The remainder of my college years was dedicated to organizing exhibitions, quizzes, and events to promote my subject, Physics, among the youth. I set up fun workshops and exhibitions to demonstrate the laws of physics in an easily digestible manner. Many students from various schools across the city would visit these events and take part in the interactive scientific demonstrations. I am proud to state that these events encouraged a handful of those students to approach me about pursuing a career in physics, and that was the most significant achievement of my undergraduate years.
My social volunteering work gave me valuable interpersonal communication and documentation skills, which are two very useful qualities for a tutor. International students are generally confused and shy, so tutors need to be friendly and approachable to encourage students to ask questions and help them feel comfortable. I believe I have nearly perfected these skills thanks to my experience teaching high school students.
I believe the seminars and exhibitions I've organized have also played a significant role in developing my academic engagement skills. If I could captivate a group of jumpy school students with a model of the Doppler Shift Phenomenon, I suppose I must have my community engagement skills sorted. Organizing these events has also enhanced my management skills, making me a detail-oriented and sometimes annoyingly methodical person.
Although my coding experience is already highlighted in my CV, I would also like to state that I have done multiple projects using python and Java and am currently doing a project on neutrino detection. I have struggled with coding in the past and know how it feels to keep getting error codes and not knowing what is wrong with what you’ve typed. The reason for my struggles was because my foundation for programming was not strong so I can assure CYPHER and coco coders that I will make sure all students under me never feel the need to ask chatgpt to correct their codes.
I believe everyone has the potential to be a STEM genius. It's just about finding the right way to explain things, making it click for each person. And I would enjoy exploring that process while also helping others learn along the way.
I've been through the struggles of figuring out formulas, scratching my head over physics concepts and reading through 100 lines of a code just to realise you missed a semicolon somewhere. I get it, and I want to be that person who turns confusion into clarity. No one should feel like they're swimming in an ocean of numbers alone.
So, in a nutshell, I want to tutor because I've been there, I love the 'aha' moments, and I genuinely want to make studying a high-five, fist-bump, let's-do-this kind of experience for others. I thrive on making a positive impact, which is a skill required yet mostly overlooked in tutors. I would love to engage with younger audiences and help them adjust to their new chapter in acade.

Subjects include English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for primary and secondary, GCSE and A-levels students, and engineering-related courses in addition to the previously listed subjects for undergraduates. I have had experience as a one-to-one and group tutor with science and engineering students studying for a School, GCSE, A-levels and undergraduate degrees and preparing them for their tests and final exams.
My experience as a tutor has helped me realize how important it is to make learning both interesting and relevant to the pupil. With previous tutees, I have used traditional and e-learning methods of learning together with games, projects, research, craft, investigative work and quizzes in order to make learning more enjoyable. I also have access to past examination papers and questions which are ideal in preparing pupils for the end of key stage tests.

Hello! I'm a Microbiologist, Biostatistician, and an experienced tutor, specializing in Cancer Biology, Melanoma, Microbiology, English, Science, Statistics, and Mathematics. I am passionate about tutoring students of all grades and levels. I believe that every student has great potentials locked-up within them, waiting to be unlocked by a dedicated, loving, caring and astute teacher. Hence, it has been my resolve over the years, to bring out the best out of every student I get the opportunity to tutor. And, I have been able to produce great students because of this philosophy. No matter how difficult the concept could be, you can trust me to simplify it! I am so excited to work with more students and parents. I am conversant with the use of a digital whiteboard, and other computer applications, that could make the online class look like a physical class. There is no dull moment in my class; I make sure I engage my students so that they would see that learning is so an easy and fun-filled adventure! I have gotten a lot of commendations and recommendations from my past students and their parents, as my students always ace my exams, homework and assignment.
