Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years of experience. I have a huge passion for teaching and find it most rewarding to see children progress and excel under my guidance.
I offer tuition in the following areas:
- English
- Maths
- Creative Writing
- Year 6 SATs
- 11+ Entry Exams (Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning)
- Interview Preparation
Every child deserves an opportunity to reach their maximum potential. In addition to focusing on a child`s academic progress, I always look for opportunities to boost their confidence and self-esteem - as these are crucial for a holistic development. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need. It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs or 11+ exams.
I tailor my lessons to cater for each child's individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning. I believe that every child is truly special and unique. I have successfully tutored children with specific learning needs, as well as children that have English as an additional language. All my students have made excelled progress in their studies, therefore most of my students come from personal recommendations of happy parents :)

Over the last 8 years, I have had the privilege of working as both a class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) in a respected UK prep school. My teaching experience spans across all years of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing me with a broad understanding of the curriculum and the developmental needs of students at various stages of their primary education.
As a class teacher, I have designed and delivered engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring that each child’s learning style is catered for. I’ve worked across a wide range of subjects, from English and mathematics to science and creative arts, always striving to make learning stimulating and accessible for all. My approach has always been to create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel confident, supported, and motivated to achieve their best.
In my role as SENCO, I have had the opportunity to support students with a variety of additional learning needs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism spectrum disorder, and ADHD. I have worked closely with both teachers and parents to develop individualised education plans and targeted interventions, ensuring that all students have the resources and strategies they need to succeed. This role has also involved training staff on best practices for inclusive teaching and advocating for a whole-school approach to inclusion, making sure that every child is supported to reach their full potential, regardless of their challenges.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to personalising learning, helping every student feel valued and empowered. My experience as both a class teacher and SENCO has equipped me with the skills to be flexible, creative, and proactive in addressing the needs of all students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment across Key Stage 1 and 2.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

As a passionate and dedicated educator with seven years of teaching experience, includiing five years in the challenging classrooms of London and two years in the vibrant educational landscape of the UAE. I specialise in maths and English interventions for students who require an extra push to achieve their full potential. My commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment has been key in helping my past students excel in their tests and assessments. One of my key strengths lies in my ability to identify and address the individual learning styles and needs of my students. I firmly believe in the power of differentiated instruction and I students’ various learning styles, thus, I modify my teaching techniques to accommodate various learning paces and styles. This approach not only ensures that my students comprehend the core concepts thoroughly but also instills in them the confidence to apply their knowledge effectively. I take great pride in the success stories of my students, and I am particularly passionate about supporting students who may struggle in a classroom environment. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and encouragement in helping students overcome their challenges and reach their full potential. I am dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment where every student feels valued, motivated, and inspired to succeed. My vast experience across all primary education years, specifically years 2 & 6, has allowed me to understand the requirements of the curriculum and the intellectual development of the child each year. Being raised in a challenging area of London myself, it has allowed the children to find a sense of familiarity and comfortability and strive to become the best they can be; not only within the classroom but also outside of it.

I am a young, energetic, kind and caring individual who has a passion for primary education. During my time at sixth form, I managed to achieve 3 A levels and I have recently achieved a BSc First- class Psychology degree. I currently work as an associate tutor in a primary school, where I assist whole class teaching, teach my own phonics group and my role focuses highly on the SEMH needs of the students. I have also worked as a mental health worker, I always put the needs of the students first and understand regulating emotions can be difficult for children in KS1 and KS2.
I have learnt many skills and new ideas working in a primary school that I would implement into my teaching ways as a tutor. I will make the sessions fun, engaging and interactive. I have a warm/ strict approach and will be dedicated into teaching my students to success. My main expertise would be primary education. However, I enjoy the subjects, maths and Psychology and would also be willing to help those students that need extra help with these subjects leading up to their GCSE’s.
I have a strong passion for primary education and will be determined and dedicated to leading my students to success.

Having recently completed my PGCE in Primary Education and gaining my QTS; my knowledge of the curriculum, teaching strategies, and methods and my experience puts me in great stead to be an excellent, motivating, thorough and positive tutor for children at the primary level. Further, I have an excellent understanding of the 7+ exams and can focus my teaching towards any areas of learning towards this. I have many strategies for making learning accessible for children, being dyslexic myself, I understand the different difficulties and struggles children can have in school and ways to overcome barriers to learning. I have a passion for education and enjoy making learning fun and engaging. My specialism is computing and I, therefore, love to use computing as a cross-curricular tool in learning. Additionally, Astronomy is a strong passion of mine and something I am keen to spark and promote in children where it can lead to many interesting thoughts and questions and relates to so many schemes of learning. I believe in learning from one's environment and exploring the world around us and therefore ensure that when I teach the curriculum, I make the learning experience as enjoyable, relevant, and accessible as possible.
My first experience in teaching was working in conductive education, with children with cerebral palsy. Further, I worked as a teaching assistant at a large school, working with years 1, 2 and 5. In the mornings I worked with whole classes and in the afternoon I ran group or 1-1 sessions with children that needed extra support, such as children with special educational needs. Additionally, I ran an Astronomy club for year 2 and year 5. I planned, taught, and assessed each child in my class and shared my passion and enthusiasm for the subject with them. I have since completed a PGCE in primary education at the Institute of Education at University College London (UCL). During my placement, I worked primarily with a year 5 class, planning, teaching, and assessing up to 80% of the timetable. On this placement, I taught consecutive lessons in year 1 and 2 also, mostly focusing on Phonics and Maths. My specialism is Computing and I ran a Computing project with my year 5 class on this placement, collecting and subsequently presenting my findings to my colleagues at UCL. This project investigated the ways in which Computing can be used to promote cross-curricular learning and was thoroughly enjoyable, successful, and interesting. I was also lucky enough to gain valuable experience on placement at Brooklyn New School in New York, where I taught year 2. My main focus at this school was Literacy and Numeracy, as well as Philosophy for Children (which is now on the National Curriculum) and I have a broad and well-rounded knowledge of a variety of teaching strategies and methods. Additionally, I run a YouTube channel providing lessons in Astronomy for children and adult beginners. I plan and prepare the lessons most relevant and accessible to children, where it can link to the national curriculum.
I would love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for Astronomy with adults, as well as children.
