As a dedicated and passionate PGCE student, I am excited to apply my skills and experience in a tutoring role while I continue to build my teaching career. I bring a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where each child can achieve their full potential. My teaching journey has been shaped by diverse experiences—including classroom placements and private tutoring—which have strengthened my ability to tailor learning to individual needs. Throughout my BSE1 placement in a Year 6 class within an EAL school, I worked closely with pupils from a range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This experience helped me develop adaptive teaching strategies and a clear understanding of how to scaffold learning effectively. I consistently aligned my teaching with the National Curriculum, used formative assessment techniques, and prioritised inclusive approaches—key skills that now inform how I personalise learning in a one-to-one tutoring context. In my role as a teacher partner in a Year 3 classroom, I supported a wide range of academic and emotional needs. Collaborating with the class teacher, I led small-group interventions, created tailored resources, and provided pastoral support where needed. These experiences have translated well to tutoring, where I take a focused, pupil-led approach—adjusting my methods to ensure each child feels supported, challenged, and confident in their learning journey. My one-to-one work as a GCSE tutor supporting five students has been particularly valuable in developing targeted instruction and feedback techniques. I built strong relationships with each student, quickly identifying gaps in understanding and adapting my teaching style accordingly. I promoted independent learning, resilience, and a growth mindset—core principles I bring to every tutoring session. This role also enhanced my communication with families, ensuring ongoing progress and shared expectations. Academically, I hold a Distinction* in BTEC Business Studies, and my background in Law and Criminology has strengthened my analytical thinking, organisation, and understanding of behaviour and safeguarding. I am confident in applying statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education and committed to ensuring pupil wellbeing in every learning environment. Beyond formal settings, I have volunteered in after-school clubs and led activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and engagement. These experiences have broadened my classroom management skills and informed my tutoring style, which is interactive, positive, and tailored to each learner's interests. My personal interests in reading and sports enrich my ability to build rapport with pupils and make learning enjoyable. I strongly align with the values of Be Strong, Be Kind, Be Proud, which I actively embed into my work with children. I encourage a “give it a go” attitude, nurturing resilience and helping children learn from mistakes. I model kindness and create a safe, respectful space where learners feel valued and able to express themselves. In every tutoring session, I strive to build pride in their progress and support both their academic and emotional growth. I fully understand that tutoring, like classroom teaching, requires patience, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset. I am driven by the progress I see in pupils and take pride in supporting them to overcome barriers, achieve goals, and become more confident learners. With a strong foundation in pedagogy, assessment, and child development, I am excited to bring high-quality, individualised support to pupils as a tutor.
