I have been teaching German for 30 + years in schools and colleges of further education and now I tutor from home online. I specialise in preparing students for their GCSE and A level German exams but also teach at all levels from beginners to post A level. I have a degree in German, a Master's of Education and a PGCE and am completely fluent in German having lived and worked in Germany for several years. Harriet lived in Spain on the Costa Blanca for sixteen years where she grew up speaking the Spanish language with fluency. During this time Harriet taught at an International Language School in Spain and decided to return to the UK, where she was educated at Rugby School and then went on to obtain her degree in Spanish at the University of Chester.
In 2010 she set up The Spanish Academy, offering Spanish tuition to adults & children of all ages, and also became a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. She has taught in a variety of secondary schools across Norfolk & Cambridgeshire and specialises in Spanish GCSE & A level tuition. After ten successful years, she is now tutoring on an online platform as well as face to face and teaching students from some of the UK’s top public schools such as Eton, Harrow & Radley.

I am a committed, enthusiastic and friendly tutor/mentor with 30 years of teaching experience and up to date knowledge of teaching methods. Since graduating from the University or Reading in 1992, I have taught in a variety of Norfolk schools - both primary and secondary (including an American school here in the U. K.). I have a proven track record of improving pupil achievement in maths and am able to offer tailor-made tuition to meet individual pupil needs - whether the student is struggling to keep up at school, developing confidence or preparing for exams.
Home Educated children I am happy to work with home educators and their children. As home educating families often have very individual requirements, please get in contact if you would like to discuss options for daytime sessions. I also offer discounts for home educated students taking lessons during school hours (9am-3pm) on weekdays in term-time. Please contact me for details.

Last 5 years I have been teaching Mathematics in schools in Leicestershire, preaparing students for their tests and GCSE exams and improving their Maths skills. In Poland I was teaching German language students at age 7-16 and adulds. Teaching is my passion :)

During my undergraduate study of Arabic, I spent almost two years in Paris. Upon completing my masters in Arabic, I decided to consolidate my knowledge of French sitting all the language and literature exams of the Bachelor Degree as a private student. I then continued my professional development by obtaining the DALF Certificate, level C1 of the CEFRL (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
My PGCE course at the University of Southampton was focussed on teaching French, Italian and German.
My native language is Italian and I hold a qualification for teaching Italian to foreigners (CEDILS). I am also fluent in French, thanks to my studies abroad and relative qualifications (see above).

I am a native speaker of German and took my degree in Germany. My PGCE was acquired at Goldsmiths' College, University of London. I have worked uninterruptedly for 45 years in British Secondary school, full-time until 2009. I have fulfilled various roles, Head of German, Head of MFL, Assistant Head for Assessment, Advisory Teacher for MFL and ICT, Advanced Skills Teacher and Mentor for a SCITT scheme. In 2007, the German Embassy recognised my work by awarding me the German Teacher of the Year certificate. I have also written or contributed to various textbooks published by OUP ('Zeitgeist') under the name of Maria Hunt.
I have very extensive experience of one-to-one coaching which I enjoy tremendously, and for the past ten years, I have been providing various translation services for scientific, cultural and commercial enterprises.
