I moved to the UK from the USA after completing a Masters degree and www.*** in Classical Philology at Harvard University. My first teaching jobs in the UK were at Winchester College and Westminster School, where I taught GCSE and A-level classes in Greek and Latin.
I have published numerous articles and books on Greek literature while working as a lecturer at the University of Bristol (2007-2011) and Corpus Christi College, Oxford (2011-2016). After the birth of my third child, I stopped lecturing and took a job locally as teacher of Greek and Latin at Pilgrims' Prep School in Winchester.
At the University of Bristol, I taught undergraduates and post graduates, many of whom were Adult learners.
The diversity of my work experience has allowed me to teach from many different textbooks for beginners and intermediates and all of the popular text prescriptions for exams.
I also offer support for university applications to UK and USA universities. I give alumni interviews for Harvard applicants in the Winchester area. I am very skilled in online instruction, but I don't have a Facebook page or personal website. For my publications and academic work, I use my birth name (Hitch), many of which can be found on Google or Amazon.
About the Lesson
I offer one, one and a half, and two-hour lessons, using questioning techniques to encourage deeper thinking and help students achieve top grades in English. My experience includes teaching a wide range of texts such as Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Sign of the Four, A Christmas Carol, An Inspector Calls, and poetry from the Power and Conflict and Love and Relationships anthologies. I have also served as an examiner, marking AQA English Literature Paper 2, and will be marking Language Paper 1 this year.

I adore engaging with young people about the texts they are studying and aim to help you unlock your potential in English. With a passion for my subject and experience teaching AQA English Literature and Language at GCSE level, I am committed to helping students succeed. 1) Teaching Experience
I have been teaching advanced levels and prepared students for international exams such as IELTS and TOEFL, SAT, FCE, CAE, PET, PTE, KET, and TOEIC for over 14 years. I have also been in charge of recruiting, training and observing teachers based on updated language teaching methods( mostly CLT and Task-based methods). Furthermore, I have designed and held placement and diagnostic tests for the new students and scheduled their lessons. I consult with students and their parents regarding the student's weaknesses and strengths and give information about international exams, University applications, and requirements.
