I have 8 years of teaching and tutoring experience in a variety of environments. I have always enjoyed teaching, tailoring my tuition to the individual and doing my utmost to ensure that each individual achieves their goals, whatever they may be.
In addition to my education and training, I lived in Austria for 3 years working as an English Language Assistant for the British Council. This invaluable time enabled me to fully hone my German language skills, and I have since worked as an online translator.

I have over 15 years of experience, in teaching music to children and adults of all ages. My main profession is individual and group music lessons, within primary schools. I have many private music students - which I have now adapted to teaching, where needed, via skype/zoom or using other digital resources. This method is working incredibly well!
I am the co-founder of a music school (Exeter Music Holiday School), which has been running for 7 years. We offer workshops and individual lessons, throughout every UK, mainstream school holiday. I also play the flute in a Ceilidh band, play in the pit for panto, and have perfomed on various instruments (including vocals), for group concerts and individual performances.
As the 'Wind' section leader, for Exeter Childrens Orchestra (ECO), I am having a wondeful experinece so far, and it has given me the opportunity to brush up on my basic Bassoon skills - which is my next planned venture.
Teaching the following instruments/vocals, in schools and privately has enabled me to tutor to varying degrees, and examination levels (I generally use ABRSM, as the preffered exam board). Here are the instruments I can provide lessons for:
Flute
Clarinet
Recorder
Guitar
Ukulele
Trumpet/cornet
Piano/keyboards
Violin
Cello
Singing
Music Theory
At music school, I run workshops in world music, folk music, tales and art. Storytelling through music. Wind, strings, brass and percussion. Many workshops are adapted to the seasons, outdoor spaces so that we can explore and be inspired. Music really holds no bounderies and can be found everywhere.
I am constantly learning a new instrument, and take the exams through the levels. It keeps me on track with how it feels to learn and coping with exam prep and nerves. Empathy and connections is very important.
Being a parent, I know how important it is, to feel that your child is safe and happy with a mentor. This is why I encourge the take-up of a 'free' initial lesson, so that you feel happy and comfortable with going forward.
Although I do not have any specialist qualifications in working with children and adults with additional needs, I do have lots of experience. I have many wondefullly bright students, within these spectrums, whom have taught me so much. I am more than happy to re-invent the wheel and nurture what is important to each person. My eldest son is a child with autism, and he is an incredibly gifted musicican, who learns by ear and repitition (even though he can read music prefectly well) - as this is how he responds. He feels his way though it, and this makes his very happy. He has also happily sat many exams.
I would love to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

For many years, I have worked in the UK and abroad as a professional musician. I am passionate about all aspects of music-making and about inspiring people of all ages to reach their full potential, both academically and practically.
I am currently an ABRSM examiner and have undertaken this role for 8 years, working in many regions of the UK and also in China and Hong Kong. I very much appreciate the chance to provide a friendly, but professional atmosphere in which candidates feel sufficiently at ease to perform to the best of their ability.
I have been Head of Academic Music at a public school in Bath for 7 years and have guided students through the component parts of the GCSE and A level syllabi. Many students have thrived under my care and have gone on to University or Music College to further their understanding of Music.
I also teach Music Theory up to Grade 8. I am passionate that Theory is a vital addition to all practical music-making. Significantly, some students at school chose not to opt for A level Music, but later decided that they wanted to study Music at University. Achieving Grade 8 theory with me enabled them to secure their place in the next phase of their education.
I am a semi professional pianist and teach the piano from pre Grade 1 to Grade 8. I am very happy to teach the full range from young children up to adult learners, and years of experience of dealing with people has, I trust, cultivated a focused, committed and friendly approach.
I accompany a Choral Society and have done so for 10 years, really enjoying the chance to play and inspire people to sing.
I also play the harpsichord in a Baroque ensemble with two professional flautists, a bass viol player and a Baroque vocalist. We give concerts and are all enthusiastic about our playing together and sharing our love of Baroque music.

I began my career as a violinist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, where I played for 13 years, as well as being a visiting teacher of violin at Oakham School, Rutland. Following the arrival of my children, I completed a secondary PGCE in music, qualifying to teach GCSE and A level music; I am currently an AS and A level examiner for Pearson Edexcel. Following my Masters with TrinityLaban, I have returned to private instrumental teaching and music theory and GCSE/A level tutoring, as well as undertaking some music service teaching, music examining and professional performing. I currently teach music theory, coach chamber music and conduct a string ensemble at Primary Royal Academy of Music in London.
I am experienced with children and young people from KS2 through to KS5, and teach violin from beginner up to diploma level. I also teach music theory, viola and can coach GCSE and A level instrumental performance candidates. As an A level examiner, and a very experienced GCSE music teacher, I can provide additional lessons or support for GCSE and A level music candidates, including teaching coursework composition.
I believe firmly that all human beings have an innate musical ability and enjoy finding creative ways to draw that out in all learners, no matter their age or current ability.

In over 20 years of teaching, I have taught a wide range of students from young beginners to vocational musicians and adults who learn for pleasure.
The teaching environments I have worked in include peripatetic teaching at independent schools (Belmont House School), vocational schools (Purcell School and the RSAMD Junior Department), and community music trusts (Cumbernauld Music Trust).
I currently teach piano privately and have students preparing for GCSE, ABRSM and A Level performance exams. No student will want to keep coming for weekly lessons if they don’t enjoy their lessons so as a teacher, I always aim to inspire and motivate my students with creative teaching practices.
I also run Rhythm Circle in Sutton Coldfield, a musical holiday club for young children aged 5-9 years. It teaches the basics of music via multi-sensory games and activities. Recommended for young beginners as a friendly introduction to formal music lessons

I'm a young, dynamic musician who's open to all styles and genres.
I am 'Composer in Residence' and teacher of music at Eton College, including prep for ABRSM exams.
I have experience with pupils of all ages and stages, from beginners through to advanced. Including adults and children. I have put many pupils through ABRSM exams, with good results including distinctions. I have also had several beginner pupils who simply want to learn the instrument to an enjoyable level and play with others.
I want to help students with their own unique musical goals through exciting methods; I have a wide plurality of musical experience and an open personality, so let's talk about what you want to achieve.
I work professionally as a composer, pianist (accompanist), jazz pianist, choral singer, saxophonist, percussionist. I've also worked a lot with theatre. I was chapel musician and a choral scholar at Cambridge. I have conducted orchestras, choirs.
I have excellent qualifications: a double first from Cambridge University (in Music) as well as an MMus from Rotterdam conservatoire. I've won several awards for my musical and academic work.
Fully DBS checked. Can teach in my spacious studio in Eton. Or travel short distances to Windsor/Eton/Slough www.*** ;

I firmly believe that everyone enjoys music in some capacity, and my teaching approach reflects that. I will always find a way to make music lessons fun and enjoyable, whilst ensuring each student achieves their maximum potential.
After graduating from The University of Hull in 2009, studying a music degree focusing mainly on performance, I decided to further my studies abroad by attending the 14th international course of musical interpretation at the Frederic Chopin School of music in Nowy Sacz, Poland, being taught under Barbra Halska of the Chopin University in Warsaw.
Feeling the need to pass on my enthusiasm for subject, I decided to take up teaching in a classroom setting, so I completed my PGCE in Secondary Music at The University of Greenwich/Trinity College of Music.
During this year, having the urge to further my piano skills too, I also completed the DipABRSM diploma exam in performance (piano solo).
Over the last ten years I have performed in a variety of settings including solo recitalist, accompanist, wedding bands or even church organist. The vast differences in performance setting have helped me become a more well rounded performer and has consequently broadened my teaching skills.
For nine years I was a secondary school music teacher, including three years as head of department. In this time I taught everything from KS3 classes up to A level Music and A level Music Technology. I taught a huge variety of exam specifications and even became an examiner for one of the main exam boards. As a result I became very effective with teaching students how to fulfil their potential and achieve their goals.
My passion for piano also meant that I continued to deliver private piano lessons all the time I was in schools. I have a 100% pass rate, including theory exams.
Whilst most of my experience is teaching ages 11-18, I have taught pupils as young as 7 and as old as 60, each one being satisfied with my lessons.
