I have taught in various environments, FE, Secondary, Primary and in Homeschool and PRU situations. I believe that tutoring offers a specialised expereince and ability for the stuent to be given pure focus for that time slot. It allows for impact and for student progress. I taught maths from GCSE to STEP at an academy in Essex from 2009 to 2017 and at another Essex academy from 2020 to 2024. In both academies I taught GCSE Mathematics A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and STEP. About half of my students have been recommended to me. I have been a private tutor since September 1987. I do not cover D1 or D2 or Modelling With Algorithms at A level. I have a first class honours degree from Goldsmith College London where I won the Stanley Hails Memorial Prize.

In addition to focusing on a child`s academic progress, I always look for opportunities to boost their confidence and self-esteem - as these are crucial for a holistic development. Difficult concepts are broken down in smaller ones through scaffolding using different techniques differentiated according to each child`s individual need. It is important to push each child past their comfort zone, and I do exactly that with the students I tutor by challenging them in different ways. I tutor children across the primary phase, all the way from teaching how to read and write in English, to solving complex problems in Maths, to preparing them for their upcoming SATs or 11+ exams.
I tailor my lessons to cater for each child's individual needs. I have a gentle and friendly approach towards children and I always look for ways to help them make connections between the things they learn and for them to develop a love for learning.
