I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. I have performed in professional opera companies in the UK, and performed recitals and gala concerts throughout the UK and in Northern Italy. I teach classical styles, as well as music theatre, jazz, folk, pop/rock.
I graduated a with a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Birmingham, and can tutor chemistry, physics and mathematics in addition to music.

TEACHING: My goal is to help students understand the content, stay engaged and ensure they enjoy their lessons whilst pushing them to their best. I found through my own revision that learning what type of learner you are is one of the most helpful attributes to revision, which is something I would assist with. Additionally, I want to keep students motivated through their long years of studying as it is a long process and to get the higher grades consistency is key.
LESSON STRUCTURE: A typical length of lesson would typically be an 1hr long. The first half of lesson would be going through a topic which the student is struggling to comprehend or to learn new content keeping the student ahead in school. Then using a range of exam questions to further their understanding of the subject area, progressing from their as needed as every student is different lessons would be tailored towards them.

Hello! I am a friendly and enthusiastic qualified Maths Teacher working in Sheffield. I love teaching maths from Primary age up to GCSE. I have a Masters Degree in Engineering from the University of Nottingham and I trained to teach at Sheffield Hallam University.
I currently work for a large Academy Trust in the area, but have spare time during school holidays and weekends. I am in my third year of teaching and I have lots of experience of teaching KS3 and GCSE pupils. I would also be happy to apply my experience to teach Primary School students.
I understand that lots of young people have missed out on learning due to school closures so I will work hard to re-gain my students’ confidence and understanding in mathematics. Focusing on their areas of weakness to enable them to thrive!

I completed my secondary science PGCE in 2015. I am a Biology specialist, however, I have good subject knowledge and experience of teaching in all three sciences. I am also highly adaptable. I have taught across key stage 3 and key stage 4, including year 11 groups who I taught physics, chemistry and biology. I have been included in general CPD in schools and also in departmental moderation of marking across GCSE. I have taught at several Sheffield schools including High Storrs, Sheffield Park Academy, Sheffield Springs Academy, Birley Community College, Firth Park Academy and Forge Valley School. I have been tutoring for several years and I teach science, geography and maths GCSE both higher and foundation level. I've taught the content for AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards. I also tutor 6th form students in both year 12 and 13 at Biology A Level. I have tutored students through university foundation courses for healthcare and education degree courses. I can also tutor maths and science for university GCSE equivalency exams. Science and maths education is something I have always been passionate about and I try to encourage students to share this passion. It is vital to ensure that all students receive the best education possible and it is my belief that they should receive it in a caring and supportive environment. I refuse to believe that any student cannot succeed in a subject, especially something as versatile and flexible as science and maths, there is always a way to get through to any student. While this is more of a personal belief, I have yet to see anything to the contrary. I have been involved with extra-curricular activities; film club, lunch and break duties, corridor patrols and form activities. I have also received weekly training sessions by specialists in school on teaching both SEN and EAL students and improving my own pedagogy.

I have a passion for Biology in particular, but am also skilled at Mathematics and Chemsitry; I achieved A*s in all of these at A level and have gone on to study a science-based degree at University. As mentioned above, I am a student at the University of Nottingham medical school. During medical school, I have developed a skill of being able to explain complex concepts in a way easier to understand, and I think this sets me apart from other tutors.
I am also a linguist, as I did both French and Mandarin Chinese for GCSE( achieveing level 9 in both)- I am able to tutor beginner level in these subjects. I have had experience leading children on summer camps for multiple years, babysitting and am keen to use these skills in my tutoring. I have a valid DBS check that I am happy to provide on request. In my spare time, I like to play piano ( which I am also accomplished in with an ARSM performance diploma) and ice skate with the university society.
Feel free to message me with any questions you may have!

I am a university trained Maths teacher, who has worked in many local Derby schools. I am currently working at Derby College teaching A-level and Core Maths 3 days a week. I have tutored several GCSE students, who have achieved a passing grade. I am available for lessons throughout the day on a Wednesday and Friday during term time. Tutoring online would be best for me, but I am able to travel up to 5 miles if this is not possible.

In my tutoring practice, I firmly believe in the power of personalisation. I understand that each of my students is a unique individual with their distinct personalities, motivations, and learning styles. Given my relatively young age, I find it effortless to connect with my students, and my contagious enthusiasm for mathematics and teaching often inspires them. I take the time to get to know my students during our lessons, which not only helps build a strong rapport but also clarifies my role as a tutor. They understand that I'm there to guide, support, and assist them in their learning journey. My teaching methodology avoids spoon-feeding students. Instead, I first provide them with a solid understanding of the theory behind a new method or concept. Then, I challenge them to teach the topic back to me as we work through a related problem together. This approach ensures that the student comprehends the topic thoroughly and can confidently navigate the associated steps. Praise and encouragement are essential elements of my teaching style. I firmly believe in acknowledging and motivating students throughout the lesson, fostering a positive and empowering learning environment. Furthermore, I maintain regular communication with the students' parents to provide them with updates on their child's progress. This collaborative approach helps me better understand and support the student's needs. In summary, my tutoring philosophy revolves around personalised instruction, building rapport, fostering understanding through active teaching, and creating a positive learning atmosphere through praise and encouragement. My commitment extends to involving parents in the learning journey to ensure the best possible support for the students I work with.
