No previous programming experience is necessary. Tuition is available both locally (Newmarket and Cambridge area) and nationally (via Skype, Zoom or similar, using screen sharing).
For A-level and GCSE students, I produce a comprehensive spreadsheet to keep track of their progress - listing each part of the course syllabus, including my own notes on the topics and links to relevant resources. I also maintain a number of YouTube playlists of videos relevant to the courses.

Sarah obtained her PGCE in Mathematics from King’s College London in 1997. Her first post was at Elizabeth College in Guernsey as a teacher of Mathematics and ICT. Over the years she gradually moved from the full time teaching of Mathematics to ICT and since 2014 to Computer Science. Her first post as Director of ICT was at St Michael’s Grammar School in Finchley, North London and since then she has held various posts as Head of Computer Science including at Ellesmere College from 2016 to 2022. Sarah has a real passion for teaching algorithmic thinking, programming and artificial intelligence. Algorithmic thinking is a style of thinking which allows the learner to think about performing a task as a computer would. For our Maths programme I aim to ensure complete confidence for final exams. I believe I have the experience for this as I had a student getting D’s and now he is one of the top performers of his class.Through repeated lessons, equations became more familiar and through this newfound motivation in maths the student excelled. My lessons usually consist of teaching a topic breaking it down into easy and understandable steps.then doing past paper questions to really imprint the student with the knowledge to tackle any exam questions. Our english program is our gold standard, in this programme I formulate a plan to cope with any student's needs. I work with primary to secondary to entry uni level students. In this programme I first find the greatest weaknesses in the students' literary writing. This could range from vocabulary, creative writing or persuasive writing or any other deficiency. Then we set a goal be it getting an A on an exam or simply improving their overall writing skills. Through this simple yet effective method, students can hope to achieve great results.
