Saxophone Tutor, Teacher, Instructor
1-1 teaching in Piano, Violin, Saxophone and Trumpet in Cardiff as well as maths tutoring. I would be happy to teach multiple instruments to the same person at a reduced price for the second. I am experienced in my instruments and so far have taught trumpet and maths so I have experience in teaching children. I have grade 8 qualifications in all 4 instruments and study piano at Cardiff University School of Music. I have an A* mathematics A-level and completed two years of mathematics at Cardiff University before I decided to pursue music further instead. Price shown is per hour but lessons are avaiable from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

I am a highly experienced teacher, performer, composer and arranger, living and working in beautiful East Devon. I love and play music of all kinds. Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute are my favourites, as nothing feels closer to the human voice.
After a first class BA in music and a PGCE that specialised in instrumental teaching, I have taught continuously in Devon schools and privately at home for over thirty years.
I offer relaxed lessons to all ages, primary to adult. I believe in an individual approach, following your interests, providing materials to suit, and sharing your love of music. As a performer, I have experience of classical, jazz, folk, pop, soul and rock, and I teach improvisation and ear skills alongside reading. I am fully familiar with the music curriculum and often support it in my lessons. I also offer a full external exam service where appropriate, using the Trinity College syllabus.
So If you're thinking about learning an instrument, or starting again after a break, don't delay.

Hello! I'm a music teacher with 5 years of experience and I specialise in harmony/theory, composition, and jazz improvisation. Whether you/ your child is a complete beginner, or you're a professional musician looking to 'add more musical ingredients to the cupboard', or anywhere inbetween, I'd love to hear from you so we can sort out a free taster lesson.
If you are completely new to music, the piano/keyboard (or the drums) is the best place to start. The layout of the keyboard forms the basis for our understanding of harmony and theory, without which, learners of instruments (other than drums) will be at a significant disadvantage.
Things I can help with:
- inspiring young beginners to take up music-making, with a joyful, creative and holistic approach.
- electric bass (bass guitar) lessons, beginner to intermediate
- saxophone lessons, beginner to advanced
- provide a method and structure to beginner/intermediate students looking to take the next step with piano, saxophone, or electric bass
- inspire teens and adults to delve into the world of music with no prior experience
- help intermediate - advanced pianists develop better technique, up to grade 8 level
- provide a comprehensive training in jazz harmony, advanced rhythm, classical composition, songwriting, or improvisation
Things I can't help with:
- Diploma-level classical piano
- Advanced virtuoso electric bass
- Forcing students to learn things they are not interested in
- Forcing students to try to play things they are not yet ready for
- Someone who is looking for the traditional 'strict piano teacher' who doesn't let you choose your own music, punishes you for making mistakes, and has a rigid teaching style that is not adapted to each student

I am a professional gigging saxophonist
I have been playing the saxophone and flute for 10 years and
have recently completed a BA in Jazz Performance at Leeds Conservatoire
I play with a variety of bands in the Leeds music scene across different styles
Based on my experiences, I believe that musical education should ultimately be guided by the interests and tastes of the student; because of this, each student has their own tailored lesson plan with a focus on repertoire that they enjoy playing and listening to.

Testimonials :-
David Pollard, Airdire
When my son (11) wanted to learn to play the guitar we looked around for a tutor to teach him and are very happy to have found Campbell. I could write this review myself explaining how his playing has developed and progressed over the last 9 months and how good Campbell is at encouraging him etc. However since it is my son who is getting the lessons I asked him instead and he said: "playing guitar is cool, but playing with Campbell is much more fun. We would definitely recommend Campbell.
Audrey Tweedie, Airdrie
Campbell is pleasant, patient and takes time with his students, nothing is ever a bother, my nine year old shouts Campbell's here the minute she sees his car, he is also teaching my 50 year old husband, and we have nothing but praise for him .
K. Hart, Newarthill
Campbell has taught my son from the day he had his first Guitar. My son is not only able to play with confidence but at a level where if wanted has the ability to take on his own students at only 17years old.
A. Dunn, Carluke, Wishaw
Campbell has been teaching my son for almost two years. Campbell is very professional and enthusiastic. My son enjoys his lesson very much. Campbell is good at motivating and encouraging my son to practice. I highly recommend Campbell as a guitar tutor.
A. Campbell, Airdrie
We have had Campbell as our daughter's tutor for over six months and he has helped her a great deal. He seems very thorough in his approach and more importantly he shares his love of the guitar and music and has increased her confidence no end.

"My daughter Jordanne is the only person in her class to have scored 66 out of 66 in her music exam"
