I have experience teaching both online and face to face for GCSE and A level Biology. I like to tailor lessons to the student and their learning needs- I can suggest topics but I am equally happy to be guided by them if there is something they want to cover. I like to involve the student in the learning process. I will start off by asking students to tell me what they know before building on it, this way i can focus more on what the student doesn't already know or understand. I take a patient and understanding approach with students to help them feel relaxed in sessions.
What lessons are like is variable. For topics that may be new for the student, I would spend most of the lesson teaching them the subject matter. For topics that they may know a bit, I can test their understanding or can help with practice questions. If it's closer to exam time, then either going over past papers in the lesson, or if they attempt one in their own time then I can go over anything they didn't understand, or help them revise any subject that they want to at the time. Overall I think this tailored approach helps students feel like their lessons are useful and hopefully they can enjoy them too!

I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. I believe I have a strong educational background. I received 75% first class for biomedical sciences in UCL.
