I am a qualified(QTS/PGCE) secondary school Maths teacher with teaching experience in both the UK and Sri Lanka. I have over 10 years of teaching experience and more than 25 years of experience writing Maths workbooks. I offer both one-to-one and group tutoring, available in person and online.
I provide tailored support to pupils based on their ability level and age group, using pre-planned lesson materials and targeted worksheets. My tutoring approach places strong emphasis on understanding, addressing misconceptions, providing feedback, and measuring progress. Every two weeks, I conduct assessments to identify learning gaps and apply adaptive teaching strategies accordingly.
Retrieval practice is incorporated into every lesson to help reduce forgetting—an issue commonly observed in Maths education in the UK. This method has consistently produced strong results and positive feedback from both pupils and parents.
For Year 10 and GCSE students, I teach both the Foundation and Higher tiers, depending on the pupil’s ability and school grouping. |
