2025: I offer English (GCSE and IELTS) plus French and Spanish as well as Linguistics (A level course B and University). Latin offered for KS3/Common Entrance. Help with university personal statements and essay writing for university as well as thesis proposals for MA and PHD students. Excellent references sent to student/family once they have paid the nominal Tutor Hunt fee (paid to company as a one-off). Thereafter, family deals solely with tutor. Vocabulary, grammar and essay techniques in French and Spanish, from KS3 to University level: I am also here to help you get an overall 7 in English for IELTS (both academic and general training, including Life in the UK study), French and Spanish (GCSE and A level), GCSE English Lang and Lit, plus Latin for primary school (secondary school entrance and revision). PLEASE NOTE THAT I DON`T DO SEN. For Linguistics, I base my classes on GB theory and help for Child Language Acquisition and core linguistics (bilingualism, code-switching, speech errors and phonetics and phonology). I tend to tutor long-term students, many of whom continue with their languages to A level or University (excellent students, excellent results). I have been a London tutor since 2005, no student has ever failed (this does not mean they all get As or 9s). The first lesson IS the interview! Note: all my qualifications are verifiable and can be perused when you hire me for your family. I have been working as a private tutor (one to one) since 2005, registered successfully with established London tutorial agencies (one going back to 1873!). I am a member of the [contact detail removed]. My first and research degrees are in Linguistics with year abroad in France (Aix-en-Provence) as a regular student. I have further qualifications in Computer studies and New Media (in relation to publishing) and a Postgraduate degree from UCL Institute of Education. I have worked as a subject librarian at UCL (Linguistics and Languages) and I am presently a Research Associate at [contact detail removed]. I have taught in Argentina, France, England and Poland, and studied in Germany, France, England and Argentina. I have an enhanced DBS certificate, which can be checked by agencies online. My subjects are : Linguistics (including MLAT prep), French, Spanish, Italian and Latin (up to CE) in that order. I offer support for university students (languages and humanities, and social sciences). This range has come from practice, qualifications and research. For Linguistics and Literature at university level, students average a 2:1, with many papers in the 80% grade. I don’t promise a particular score, but support students through their course. I don’t write their essays for them. Results for GCSEs : mainly 7-9 (French and Spanish). Results for A levels: A stars, As and Bs. All pupils for Common Entrance (mainly French and Latin) have so far been accepted by the school of their choice. I have also prepared pupils for the school`s own entrance exams (at 13+ and 16+). |
