PHOTOGRAPHY TUITION
I hold a PhD in Art and Communication with Photography as my field of specialism and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography. I have a comprehensive understanding of contemporary photographic practices and of theoretical approaches to the subject, and also have a strong technical grounding both in traditional and in digital processes. I am experienced in all stages of the development of photographic projects, from early conceptualisation through to printing and exhibiting. I have exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows. My selection for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2008 Exhibition in Liverpool and London is one highlight among them.
As an artist and teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty www.*** offer private lessons to photography students and any other individuals who would be interested in 'how to' technical skills sessions, getting support in college and university studies or in developing a photographic body of work etc. and would be in need for some expert www.*** am passionate about photography and about teaching everybody to learn how to `see` and `think` creatively through the lens of a camera but also without it!
GREEK LANGUAGE TUITION
I am a Greek native speaker coming originally from the beautiful island of Crete. I have been living in England for the last 15 years and I have been teaching privately for the last 9 years. I hold a PhD in Art and Communication and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. These qualifications provided me with a very good command of the English Language. I am very capable of playing between Greek and English and can help English speakers have a wonderful experience of my native www.*** welcome all to explore the magic of Greek language and discover a huge variety of English words that come from a Greek root.
As a teacher I insist on the highest professional standards and I emphasise clear and direct communication and honesty throughout. My lessons are tailored to your individual needs depending on the specific type of learner you are, your learning rythm, the frequency of our sessions etc. My aim is to give you the necessary support you need to achieve your goals that you set by making the most of your potential.

My career has involved the management of change within an increasingly technological driven media workplace. I can offer 20+ years experience in this sector with particular knowledge of supported development and management of student learning. Established through my association with photographic and video work on a freelance basis and my time spend teaching at local colleges and universities. Business development has been a particular interest and success, with experience of all types of video production provision. In 2014 I set up NOW East Durham ( www.*** ), a social enterprise community magazine to ensure job seekers in particular from the 18-24 year age range can engage with a creative “real world” experience to increase their job prospects. We offer local perspectives on issues promoting positive values via an online magazine, social media, and a print magazine coupled with an internet radio station. Our primary aim is to involve the 18-24 year old job seeking demographic, enabling their personal development, improving their employment/interpersonal skills and employment prospects. We hoped to achieve this in particular by increasing confidence and self esteem with removing barriers that would be traditionally by in place associated with the media industry. Diligent, organised and efficient in my work, I excel at multi-tasking and possess first class customer service skills. I enjoy prioritising my workload to consistently produce work of high accuracy with excellent attention to detail skills and a logical approach to problem solving. My professionalism and organised approach enable me to remain calm when working under pressure and I am enthusiastic and conscientious, with a natural ability to deal appropriately with people on all levels. I also enjoy a challenge and am quick to learn new tasks and take on board new ideas. I undertake to try and attend all the conferences held to ensure that I am fully aware of all the current and future debates that involve the work of the photographer.
My working experience in the world of professional media production complement this such as magazine production as an editor and also creating community radio stations these have given my a good contact book which I can draw on when needed. with respect to my work at local colleges I delivered A2 print production to 15 students with all gaining grades of B to A's this year. I can ensure an absolute professional delivery of all aspects of media both theory and practical that is grounded in my own success rate in the past. You can expect guidance and support that reflects the current curriculum and embraces potential changes that are about to take place across the education system.

I am a practising artist with 18 years’ teaching experience (15 years as Head/Director of art) I can support all pupils and adult learners at any level. I currently work as Director of Faculty in one of the UK’s leading Independent Boarding Schools. (Fine art was the best performing subject in my school at A Level Summer 2019.)
Those wishing to make the next step into Further or Higher education will benefit from additional support to enrich their body of work for portfolio interview. I work with GCSE and A Level pupils to help improve their www.*** ;
Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to improve your drawing or painting skills simply for pleasure and to learn the rudiments of direct observational study; life drawing has been a mainstay for as long as I can remember, and hundreds of younger learners and senior artists have benefitted from private tuition since I started teaching.
The discipline of drawing and art practice in general, rewards individuals with the sanctuary of mindfulness in addition to the benefit of skill-based progress
I can teach across all media to groups or individuals – even demonstrate how to throw a pot! – I am happy to receive bespoke enquiries.
"Stuart is a great teacher, he always makes every class interesting & different each week, inspired us by using various materials & techniques in different ways stretching our www.*** is always positive with his criticism which encouraged you to produce some great works, this makes the classes enjoyable discussing our work together, feeling the group were a team.
His interest & encouragement has inspired me to continue with life drawing. "
Anita Page
"If I have any regret of my time being tutored by Stuart it is that I only joined his group a year before he moved away from Bury St Edmunds yet even in that short time with his remarkable skills as a teacher I found my drawing skills generally; and figure drawing skills in particular; improved considerably. Because of his instruction and guidance and the foundation it gave me my art has developed and evolved to embrace most media and other genre. I will always be grateful to him."
Paul Lewins
"Stuart manages to bring variety in his approach to classes. Some weeks he positions tables propped upright on their ends and we work in various media on paper the full size of the model. Sometimes we draw a model who moves in various ways in rotation. Our still life evenings are also different, he brings in a pigs head for us to draw, and also a brace of pheasants. Stuart is always very encouraging. He covers all the basics in teaching us how to measure the body by eye, by aligning different parts of the body, and demonstrates different media techniques. "
Caroline Bell
"Stuart came with enthusiasm and willingness to share his skills. Within the group hw was able to bring out individual artistic talents. He gave us confidence to attempt many different techniques.
My art abilities are definitely built on groundings set by him"

By taking an outcomes focused, person centred approach, our staff facilitate the development of personal potential for each service user. Socialisation and community inclusion is essential to the delivery of the service, improving and developing the self-esteem and confidence of those attending the Centre. We realise that each service user will have different abilities and therefore some will be more able than others to tackle the daily routine at the Centre. For this reason, we encourage individuals to be as independent as possible at a level that suits them.

I have ten years' experience of teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level art and photography and currently work at a grammar school. My tutoring sessions are particularly targeted to GCSE and A Level students who need help to improve their coursework/exam sketchbooks. As a visiting moderator I receive annual training in the marking of student work so I can give specific support and advice to students so that they learn which areas they need to focus on to gain more marks.

I have been a teacher of Art & Design at a mixed comprehensive secondary school for 5 years. I specialise in Fine Art, Graphics and Photography, teaching KS3, GCSE and A level. Since school closure due to Covid 19 I have been working online with students and would like to share this one-to-one with other students. I have also started a YouTube channel to help support students but this cannot replace individual feedback and guidance that is needed from a teacher.
