With over a decade of experience teaching and tutoring at A Level, I have developed a wealth of resources and techniques for optimising exam grades.
My priority as a tutor is developing exam technique and providing students with the best methods for maximising their grades.
My sessions tend to focus on past papers, mark schemes, essay structure and working together to figure out the most effective strategies for achieving the highest grades possible.
I also want to help forge a lifelong love of the subject, and find ways to make psychology relevant to my students' lives.

I have been in love with playing the flute since I was eight years old. I have played the flute for over fourteen years and plan to do so for many more! I have taught the flute as a self-employed teacher for two years. I can play and teach a wide variety of genres, but I excel at teaching baroque music. I can also learn music by ear and can teach you almost any songs that you want, especially those you hear on the radio, movies, or www.*** shows! I can teach at a leisurely speed, help you pick up your confidence in yourself as a musician, and I can also adhere to strict schedules and help you prepare for difficult examinations. I will be with you every step of the way in your journey as a musician, providing guidance, giving advice, and supporting your learning progress. My schedule is rather flexible so if you are interested, I am sure we can arrange a time that works for both me and you!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Whilst in secondary education, I was inspired by a maths teacher who took the time to understand the way my mind worked. He was the Head of Department, and I went to him looking for help. It was my most challenging subject, but he spent time outside of the classroom voluntarily tutoring me. I find it incredibly humbling that he was prepared to do this and that he has no idea of the impact he had on my life. The pass in Maths may have been my lowest grade, but it is the grade I am most proud of. It took effort and grit. It took long evenings after school, trying to understand why decimals even exist. And yet, it provided an essential gateway to so many opportunities. I hope to become that teacher. The teacher who engages students in a subject they might have prior negative feelings towards. The teacher who cares and puts in the extra effort for a student to do their best. My main aim during my teaching journey is to create life- long learners who will flourish in society, due to an innate sense of respect, care, and kindness towards others. My tutoring and teaching has always created an environment which will produce confident young people, who try their utmost in life to achieve and aspire to great things.
I have taught secondary English for over 5 years, with experience in both GCSE and A-Level English. This included 1:1 tuition with students from Year 7 - Year 13. I have experience of A-level coursework moderation, as well as being a coursework mentor for A-Level. I worked mainly with lower ability sets and my aim was always to help them exceed their target grades. This was always achieved through taking time to know the individual needs of every student, what makes them tick and what motivates them. My 1:1 tutoring has always been adapted to the individual and includes short term targets, as well as long term goals. My tutoring includes free extension materials and resources, for the student to complete beyond the session itself.
I have a home classroom set up, so am available to tutor online if more convenient for all. I worked throughout the pandemic, providing excellent live online working experiences. I am more than happy to travel to the student’s home if this is easier. I normally will include a quick ‘getting to know you’ session, where we will plan our expectations and targets. Parents will be able to see this plan also.
I look forward to meeting you.

I have taught french for 28 years. I taught for 22 years in 2 secondary schools (one selective/one comprehensive) and I had pupils from year 7-13. I always taught GCSE and A level classes who regularly achieved very high grades. My lessons were almost always deemed "outstanding" by OFSTED. I organised numerous modern language trips as I believe experiencing the real thing is essential to language learning. I have laterly been teaching in the primary sector (yr 2-6) and I have enabled pupils to enter secondary school feeling more confident in/enthusiastic for learning French. I believe confidence and enthusiasm are essential for the successful learning of a language - that, and regular practice. I have always offered private face-to-face tuition to all ages/abilities/levels (inc GCSE and A level) and have started to offer Skype lessons as an alternative during the current situation. I am offering the first Skype lesson at a reduced rate of £20 to be sure that you are happy with the service I am providing.
A bientôt, j'espère et bon courage :)
Above all, stay safe :)

I have been tutoring English for nearly two years at all age groups from Ks2 all the way up to A-level.
I offer hour long sessions where I can offer sessions which are tailored to the needs of your child, wether this being short and engaging activities or exam preparation activities for a child who is preparing for their exams. After each session I complete a fully detailed report of our session detailing what went well, where we can improve and what we aim to cover in the upcoming sessions!
I take a pupil first approach and try centre learning around the child’s needs and Interests as I believe this is the best way for engagement!
I am a friendly and approachable tutor who is encouraging and is very adaptable to differing levels of knowledge and skill. I believe this helps me greatly in getting to know the students needs and making best use of the time we have together!
I also tutor physical education at gcse and Alevel where I am particularly knowledgeable as I have recently completed a degree in sports and exercise sciences at Durham.
I have also had experience working with SEN students where I have worked with ADHD and dyslexia and have some excellent resources which suit the differing needs of different individuals.

Hi, my name is Dee I am a mum to 3, grown up, successful children and to 2 beautiful grandsons. I have been a teacher since 1992 and have seen so many changes to the education system in my time of work.
I have taught all primary age groups as well as pre-school, and am currently a part-time teacher of a KS1 class, both year 1 and year 2 together.
I have a great deal of experience of working with children with additional learning needs and have loved being a private tutor to both primary and KS3 pupils, specialising in English and Maths, in my home, pre covid.
I really enjoy supporting children one to one and believe that sometimes, out of the classroom learning as well as non-parent learning, is a MUST for many young people.
I have seen all of my school and private pupils, achieve a high standard and look forward to being able to work alongside your children, to see the same again.

I’m looking into studying English as a foreign language (TESOL) at University and wanting to gain some experience in teaching before i start my degree. I haven’t always been an exam and book person but with the right teaching i found my own way. I would have to get to know my student to see what style of work is most effective for them as everyone works differently. Always happy to give positive corrections and communicate to the young person about what they could work on.

I am a Second Year Student at the University of York studying BA Modern Languages with experience tutoring in French and Spanish for secondary-age students. Having only recently achieved A*A*A* at A Level, as well as GCSEs in French Spanish and Italian all at Grade 9, I have a wealth of in depth knowledge not only of languages and language learning, but also of the nature of the GCSE and A Level exams. I have a wide variety of revision techniques/resources applicable to the current exam system, and am able to provide tuition focusing on both written and oral exams.
In my experience, tuition coming from a young person to another young person is extremely effective, and provides the student with a strong feeling of support as well as boosting confidence; many young people find aspects of the exams such as the oral exam very daunting, and often dread practising it particularly when they do not feel supported and confident with the person with which they are practising. I create an environment in which the student feels safe and capable to practise without fear of judgment. As well as exam preparation, I can aid with homework and general topics of difficulty.
