I specialise in maths, biology, chemistry, physics, and medical subjects, and I love breaking down tricky concepts into simple, understandable parts. Whether you're struggling with your coursework or want to boost your grades, I'm here to help.

Experienced teacher with a proven track record of successfully supporting students to improve and make progress both at GCSE and A level History. Specialises in US, Korea/Vietnam, Norman England and Migration units at GCSE - former examiner - and Unit 2R Cold War at A level. As lead teacher of the NEA for many years, I can offer expert guidance in completing this section of the AQA A level History course too. I have been teaching for many years and have taught ages between 6-18 aswell as supporting non English speaking adults to learn English. I can support with English GCSE prep, 11 plus prep, home work help or learning English for non English speakers.
I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. I tutor students from all over the world. As well as tutoring many students in the UK at the moment I tutor students in Dubai, India, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.
I have been tutoring for over two decades outside my day job as an Actuary.
In A level Mathematics I got the highest mark in the England and Wales (100%) so know what it takes to reach the top.
However, I don't just focus on those with an aptitude for mathematics but also those who are struggling and want to reach next level. I helped SEN students as well as those who wish to get ahead of their peers.
I have helped adults get into higher education as well as a young year 4 maths prodigy excel through to year 8 maths work.
Online or in-person both work with the latter being my preference. I live in Leicester LE3 but can drive to you if reasonable. I cover all Key Stages up to and including GCSE.

Geography has always fascinated me due to its unique blend of physical landscapes, human cultures, and the interactions between them. I'm Oli, a recent first-class graduate from the Liverpool Screen School - I'd love to be able to share my passion for the medium of cinema with all of those who are currently discovering it themselves! I have over a decade of experience in the subject, whether it be the academic aspects of Film Studies, or the creative, subjective aspect of practical filmmaking.
In terms of my academic experience, I've had academic essays about Film published through international publications, as well as having my personal essays supported passionately by my academic peers at university. I've worked alongside some of the best UK-based cinematic scholars to achieve my knowledge and approach to Film Studies, and I'd be thrilled to aid anyone who needs extra support regarding their studies - even if it's simply putting tough theoretical concepts into layman's terms.
Regarding my practical experience - it's vast! I've been an independent filmmaker for over half a decade, and my films have been recognised at festivals worldwide. I've also founded a North-Western film production company, Keystone Productions, which works with independent filmmakers and producers to ensure their visions are met.
My passion for film, and my understanding of how it works in both a theoretical and practical sense, is unparalleled.
