I am currently a Medical student at Keele and a graduate from the University of Salford, achieving a 1st in my degree in Human Biology and Infectious Disease. Achieving the highest mark within my university. I was responsible for a programme known as GEMMS which is for supporting students in their medicine/dentistry applications, assisting them in interview technique and for the entrance exams.
I have mentored and tutored for 5+ years, helping students to achieve grade 9 in maths. I currently tutor Mathematics, physics, biology and chemistry for A-levels and below.
I am a fun person who particular loves his sports. Seeing the improvement and progress a child can make in a short amount of time is always the best feeling and I strive to help you achieve your goals and beyond. Sometimes having that 1 to 1 session can make all the difference in clearing up any worries about a topic.
I begin my classes by asking the student what they want to learn or discuss during the session. If they have a doubt in a concept, I will ask them to explain the same concept to me in their own words and correct them wherever necessary. I will provide some good methods to study or approach that topic. I will conclude the lesson by asking them if there is anything they would like to discuss in our next session so that I could prepare some questions in advance. I will also regularly be assessing your improvement through the use of practice papers to get an idea of where the student is at and how they can further improve. I strive to get the best out of my students.
I have been teaching in a secondary school in Altrincham for 10 years and prior to this have taught in Surrey and North London. I also have experience of examining for the major examination boards at both GCSE and A Level.

I am a specialist history teacher with experience of teaching from Years 4 to 13, but I have also taught RS and geography curriculums. I am a qualified SENCO, who has a CPT3A qualification in psychometric testing and exam access arrangements. I have a particular interest in supporting people who have additional learning needs and / or are from a disadvantaged background to reach their potential. During my experience as a teacher I have developed a range of strategies to support a wide variety of needs and abilities. I am passionate about ensuring that all my children reach their potential.
My main experience is in KS2 (Years 4, 5 and 6) but am qualified for the whole Primary age range, 5- 11 years. In my experience as a Teacher, I have taught children with Dyslexia, children with Autism, children with Aspergers, children with social and emotional needs and looked after children.
My approach is very child centered. I look at celebrating the positives first and then gradually working through the harder bits, all at the child's pace, with a view to plugging any gaps so the child can celebrate success in their learning.
I teach in many different ways to appeal to the different learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) and believe it is important to give the child a meaningful context to their learning (i. e relate it to everyday life).

As you will note from my qualifications and professional experience, I have taught all four subjects for some 35 years, at College, University, Sixth Form College and High School. While the majority of my teaching has been in the UK, mainly in Birmingham, London and Bristol, nevertheless I have also taught abroad at university in the Philippines. Additionally, I have been an A'Level Politics and History examiner for the former London and Oxford & Cambridge boards in the 1990s and early post-millennium decade. So also, have I written course brochures for the History and Politics Distance - learning programmes for the National Extension College, Cambridge. All of this has added up to my having acquired a broad professional experience, which I put to the benefit of my students.
My teaching style is very much subject and communication based, with the emphasis applying knowledge and essay skills towards achieving the best exam results. There is also a priority attached to reading and grammar skills, both of which appear to be neglected by the contemporary British educational establishment. Hopefully I can use my experience and robust teaching methods towards enabling students to gain their best performance in exams and careers. - Please also note that I am happy to tutor students on-line - ie. As a former A-Level student, and a young person myself, I recognise the importance of teaching and helping others on a level that all students can understand, thus having a greater impact on the academic achievement of any person. I have a passion for education growth which is supported by my work with the LetHerLearn scheme, which is why helping young people to achieve their best through academics is so important to me. After being a Radio and Live event presenter for many I have transferred these skills to the class where I work full time as a year 6 teacher. I have previously taught year 1 2 3 and 4. With this previous career among other jobs, i am able to bring real life contexts to all of my lessons from a variety of angles. Confidence is not just key, in my opinion it is king to any learners accademic and social development therefore my lessons are not just based on accademia but confidence and problem solving.
