I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor, currently finishing my Master's Degree in Computational Neuroscience, Cognition & AI at the University of Nottingham. My academic journey, anchored by a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate connections between Neuroscience, Cognition, and Artificial Intelligence, shaping the trajectory of my educational pursuits.
Additionally, I have had the privilege of serving as a tutor to numerous students for over 6 years, facing the challenges inherent in subjects like GCSE Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Maths, as well as A-Level Chemistry & Biology. My tutoring philosophy is distinguished by a steadfast commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. To this end, I leverage innovative tools, including online whiteboards and past papers, and complement these resources such as detailed step-by-step guides, often resulting in extremely positive outcomes with pupils sitting summer exams, be it A-Levels or GCSEs.
While the pursuit of academic excellence remains a focal point, my overarching goal transcends examinations. I am dedicated to instilling a profound understanding of the subjects, and empowering my students to not only excel in their studies but also apply their knowledge in a range of facets of life, including their future careers. I do this partially by drawing inspiration from my background in Neuroscience, as I always aim to integrate neuroscience-backed methods into my teaching practices. Such methodologies not only optimise information retention but also contribute to the ongoing development of cognitive skills, fostering a continuous process of intellectual growth.
Aside from academics, I am an avid reader, keen Badminton player and love to travel! I love to share experiences with students, as it creates a bond with them, and gives them space to be able to feel relaxed, and wanting to contribute themselves during lessons too. This to me, is pivotal in any learning process.
I firmly believe in the transformative power of education and aspire to be more than just a tutor; I aim to be a catalyst for academic achievement and the cultivation of skills that extend far beyond the confines of the classroom. Through a blend of passion, innovation, and personalised attention, I want to provide my students with a comprehensive educational experience, equipping them for success in academia and beyond.

I have over four years of experience tutoring both online and face-to-face. During this time, I have taught piano to children as young as three and worked intensively on exam preparation, including English tests and the ISEE, often with only three months’ notice. I’ve also helped students exceed their grade level in English writing, reading, and comprehension. Additionally, I have worked with children with autism, ADHD, and anxiety, focusing on building trust and creating a fun, engaging learning environment where we can grow together.

I am a polite, patient and friendly DBS-certified University lecturer, with a passion for teaching. Being lecturer means I not only have all the academic understanding and knowledge required to be a fantastic and thorough tutor, but I can also sympathise with my tutees about the quirks and difficulties of educational mathematics and tailor the experience to make sure they reach their full potential. I will also motivate my tutees in their study of mathematics and demonstrate how it is both a beautiful subject in its own right and an invaluable tool in the real world. The courses I offer tuition in are: - A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. Outside of my teaching, I enjoy cycling, playing badminton and cooking. In addition to providing tuition in Loughborough, I offer home tutoring in areas within 5 miles of Loughborough (at a marginally higher cost). I also offer Online Tuition; however, I highly recommend having lessons face-to-face (once we are out of lockdown). In the interest of maintaining high-quality tuition, I much prefer to not have every lesson online, but instead using my online services as a method of continuity. I believe (and have witnessed!) that everybody learns differently, and effective teaching comes from incorporating these differences; so, I will provide an environment for learning that is completely malleable to my tutees` needs. Fundamentally though, mathematics requires both an understanding of a topic and sufficient practice, so each session will split the time between these two. I encourage my tutees to steer each session towards their needs (and interests) - for example, particular difficulties with one topic or more detailed explanations and applications of another - which will not only ensure that they maximise the efficiency of their learning but also will build their own confidence in their abilities.

I have over 3000 hours tutoring and I will be able to assist you in A-Level or IB Mathematics (any curriculum) by providing quality resources, examination papers and teach online only using a tablet to explain methods which you are finding difficult. All notes will be sent after the lesson for review. I have received positive feedback from previous students, with more lessons asked for, so I am sure I can be of great help to you.

My main experience is in KS2 (Years 4, 5 and 6) but am qualified for the whole Primary age range, 5- 11 years. In my experience as a Teacher, I have taught children with Dyslexia, children with Autism, children with Aspergers, children with social and emotional needs and looked after children.
My approach is very child centered. I look at celebrating the positives first and then gradually working through the harder bits, all at the child's pace, with a view to plugging any gaps so the child can celebrate success in their learning.
I teach in many different ways to appeal to the different learning styles (auditory, visual and kinaesthetic) and believe it is important to give the child a meaningful context to their learning (i. e relate it to everyday life).

Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a 23 years old post-graduate with a passion for science. I have just completed a bachelors degree in Biochemistry at the University of Nottingham specifically focusing on Cancer research which has allowed me to combine my interests of Biology and Chemistry, both of which I loved in school. My aim is to extend my knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects to other students so they can achieve their full potential. My peers would describe me as having a kind and approachable nature which I believe is essential for providing a comfortable learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question!
Having experienced tons of exams myself I understand first hand how stressful the current education system can be however I promise to be positive, enthusiastic and build students confidence.

As a former A-Level student, and a young person myself, I recognise the importance of teaching and helping others on a level that all students can understand, thus having a greater impact on the academic achievement of any person. I have a passion for education growth which is supported by my work with the LetHerLearn scheme, which is why helping young people to achieve their best through academics is so important to me. Whilst academics is highly regarded, my passion and talent in Ballroom, Latin and Street dancing, achieving grades from highly commended to distinction, is also something I enjoy helping others learn.
