I'm Laura, and I've always loved learning about the world around me. This led to studying physics to a doctoral level, and discovering my passion lies in the communication of science, and sharing my enthusiasm for the subject.
In my lessons I favour a conversational approach. This allows me to engage the student while showing me their thinking. From here I can gently disentangle any confusion leading to a deeper understanding of the topic.
Lesosns themselves are tailored to the student and can include teaching of new content, revision of previous content or practicing questions together to help the student achieve mastery. I am flexible and happy to know the topic in advance or for the student to turn up on the day and let me know what they would like to practice. This can include any questions that came up over the week in other lessons of the subject at school, for instance.
I do have split pricing, so I charge £50 per hour during the week, and £55 per hour at the weekend.

I am a qualified midwife since 1995.
I trained in Kerkrade with the PBL system and as students we already had to mentor our junior peers, which only increased our own learning.
I have taught and set up different antenatal classes (for several groups; parents, teenagers) and made lesson programmes when working as a clinical trainer and for my own students when working as a midwife.
Student midwives in the Netherlands are taught and trained to be independent medical specialists, not nurses, so I trained with GP trainees, junior obstetricians and medical students. Part of our training was in depth anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, medicine management, gynaecology, family medicine and business management.
I did the Student mentorship programme in the Netherlands (Midwifery Academy Amsterdam) in 2003, I have my NMC accredited midwifery practice supervisor and assessor certificate too.
I am at the moment writing my dissertation for my masters in Education course (University of Hull) and hope to graduate in May 2024; I recently passed an SVQ level 3 course in teaching too.
I am NMC registered, I have a full DBS (on update service) and a full PVG (Scotland).
I mentored students from different healthcare settings and in the Netherlands and in the UK (midwifery, medical , nursing, paramedics and HCA/MCA), set up my own lesson plans and my students were always really appreciative for my teachings, they said it was fun and with the way I taught they could remember their theory much better, not only for exams but I taught them lifelong learning.
I prepared my 3 daughters for their GCSE and A level Dutch language exams and currently I help my daughter who studies medicine at Glasgow University (4th year) to revise for her practical exams.
I want to move from active midwifery into a more educational role, using the interprofessional experience, skills and knowledge that I gained over the years.
I am a big believer in interprofessional learning and scenario based learning; I did my VWO (comparable to A levels) in the Netherlands (Dutch, English, German, French, Biology, Chemistry and History.
I like teaching in small groups and on a one to one basis .
I also like to learn for and with my students.
The dissertation for my masters in Education (Hull, I hope to graduate in May 2024) is about a digital app for global healthcare education.

All classes are included the warm up exercise, barre work(except under age 5), centre work, include the adage, allegro, and the relaxation for end the class. All classes in 60 mins.
if you are a new learner or an advanced dancer, you still can attend the class of PBT ( Progessing Ballet of Technique), which is good for working on your muscles, but it takes time to keep practicing. After a period of practice, you could feel the improvements in your normal dance class.

Born in Ullapool, I was educated through Gaelic Medium, winning the Ullapool Fluent Gaelic Prize 2016, gaining Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award 2018 and a 200-hour volunteer Saltire Award, working with the museum to translate and discuss historical Gaelic texts.
Within my Master’s degree in Education and Gaelic at the University of Edinburgh, I have studied Gaelic language modules extensively: Linguistics and the Gaelic Language; Gaelic 1B, Gaelic 2B; The Celtic Languages (Gaelic revitalization), but I have also studied it with reference to education: Theory and Pedagogy with reference to Bilingual Education, Reflecting on Gaelic Medium Education and Education and Gaelic in Scotland. Furthermore, I have completed modules that have granted me an in-depth understanding of education: Education Studies 1a, 1b, 3 and 4 as well as Additional Support for Learning and Cognitive and Social Child Development in Education. Supporting this has been my multiple placements within three different Gaelic schools where I have been given the opportunity to teach Gaelic extensively therefore, I have an in-depth understanding of education processes, theories and pedagogical practices.
Depending on the level of the learner I will vary my teaching style accordingly. I will start by developing the learners Gaelic schema by using the Blooms Taxonomy; I will provide knowledge and understanding followed by the learner analyzing and applying information. I will make use of visual cues such as grammatical structures on my large whiteboard, online resources, PowerPoints and in-text examples. I will also be able to refer the learner to the best resources for developing Gaelic knowledge in his or her free time. My aim is to steadily progress the learner through the stages of fluency towards Intermediate / master level.

I offer fantastic online Spanish tutoring lessons. I use a variety of engaging techniques to help instil a love of Spanish in each pupil, from presentations on different vocabulary topics, to high quality listening practice to test your linguistic ear to friendly conversation practice. These lessons cover the four key facets of modern language learning: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
I have had years of experience tutoring my younger sister in Spanish and have had great success with other pupils too. As well as this, I have an excellent grasp of the Spanish language shown by my achievement of 97% in my SQA Advanced Higher Spanish exam (Scottish equivalent of A-Levels)!
Whether your goal is to develop your knowledge for an exam or simply just to learn a new skill and pick up a new hobby, I offer a variety of courses for different skill levels.
I believe that language learning should be fun and inspiring, and I ensure that each lesson will help develop your love for the language

2016 –

Physics Teacher
Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbu, Owerri,Imo State, Nigeria
· Demonstrated a wholistic approach to education by effectively coordinating students on excursions, teaching both theoretical and practical courses, and administering and marking tests and examinations in adherence to council law and district guidelines thus helping students to experience a well-rounded education, and systematically conducting assessments which contributed to their academic growth.
· Played a key role in planning and coordinating the work of aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers including engaging students in Physics projects, overseeing physics practicals, and guiding them in plotting practical graphs and solving associated calculations which resulted in a collaborative and supportive learning environment and enhanced students' practical skills and understanding of theoretical concepts.
· Engaged in open and constructive discussions with the head teacher to understand the district's evaluation guidelines after which I applied the knowledge to create a system that provided a comprehensive and accurate assessment of performance thereby contributing to a fair and effective evaluation process that promoted professional growth and development.
· Beyond the classroom, I shared the responsibility of interpreting educational programmes to the community through activities like open house and PTA meetings, strengthening the connection between the school and the broader community. As a result, there was enhanced community engagement, fostering a positive relationship and understanding of the school's educational initiatives.
· Continually evaluated and recorded various aspects of students' progress, reporting to parents as needed and meticulously planned lessons leading to subject area objectives, assuming responsibility for detailed lesson plans to ensure seamless continuity in learning, even in the absence of the regular teacher. The result was a transparent communication channel with parents and a well-structured learning environment for students.
2012 – 2016 Physics Teacher
Comprehensive Secondary School, Imo State, Nigeria
· Ensured a well-organised and collaborative educational environment by developing detailed plans for each team member, outlining specific responsibilities, and aligning them with the overall educational objectives and providing guidance and mentorship to student teachers to facilitate their professional development thereby significantly improving the coordination and collaboration among aides, paraprofessionals, and student teachers.
· Utilised a variety of assessment tools to gather relevant data and maintain meticulous records to ensure a comprehensive overview of each student's development such that I was able to provide parents with insightful and detailed information about their child's academic journey and foster a stronger parent-teacher partnership.
· Identified pupils' needs and collaborated with other professional staff members to assess and address health, attitude, and learning problems thereby positively impacting students' overall well-being, leading to improved health, attitudes, and enhanced learning experiences.
· Meticulously familiarised myself with the Council-mandated curriculum and the school district's adopted guidelines which helped me to design plans that aligned with the prescribed course of study, incorporating relevant and engaging instructional strategies thereby helping the students to receive instruction that aligned with the designated grade level and subject area.
Prepared lessons to accommodate the diverse learning styles and abilities within my classroom by conducting assessments to identify the various learning styles and preferences of my students upon which I researched and integrated a range of teaching strategies and materials into my lessons, ensuring that each session included elements tailored to visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners thereby leading to increased engagement and understanding among my students.
· Ensured accessibility for counseling sessions by establishing specific office hours before and after school to accommodate counseling sessions and communicating the hours clearly to students and parents, emphasising the availability for discussions related to academic, personal, or other concerns thus leading to timely interventions and support and contributing to the overall well-being and academic success of students.
· Created engaging and diverse lessons that appealed to different learning styles by researching and incorporating a variety of instructional strategies, media, and materials into my lesson planning and utilising technology, hands-on activities, visual aids, and collaborative projects, aimed at capturing students' interest in relevant topic thus leading to an increased engagement, motivation and deeper understanding by the students
